About This Game

Creeper World 3: Cellular automata takes over a strategy simulation.

Instead of discreet units that attack your base, a fluid-like substance spreads over the terraformable terrain. Your base, your weapons, your strategy... you must adapt them all.

Creeper World 3 bends what it means to be a strategy title.

Instead of heavily scripted A.I., players find themselves engaging an enemy with theoretically predictable behavior yet which is shockingly interesting to engage. Players can build fortifications and stick around forever. Players can go for domination, quick strategic kills, or amass huge stockpiles of resources. Some play for speed, others to create art. Tiny maps, large maps, five minute missions, five day missions... the simulation scales to handle all of these scenarios.

User generated content is critical and supported at multiple levels in Creeper World 3.

Dial up worlds using the DMD (Dial Map Device) and tweak dozens of constraints. Then, play and share the addresses via an on-line database. Create your own maps using the built-in map editor and upload and share on-line. Or, join with thousands of other players and peruse the databases of worlds created by others. Want to create a new weapon, a unit, an enemy, or an effect? Use the built in scripting language to create what you dream. Hundreds of engine commands are exposed and examples abound on the forums and grow daily. You can even take the built in story maps and make your own. In fact, all of the built in story missions were written using the built-in editor and the CRPL scripting language.

Some of the high level features are:

  • Thermodynamic/fluid physics based play.
  • Billions of total missions.
  • Story arc with insane and unique enemies.
  • Explore hundreds of star systems with thousands of worlds in Prospector missions.
  • Hundreds of hand crafted missions in the Alpha Sector.
  • Dial up your own mission worlds using the 'Dial Map Device' and share the address.
  • Create your own maps using the included map editor.
  • Play on maps of variable size, dimension, and shape.
  • Script your own enemies and effects using the built in scripting language.
  • Terraform the landscape during missions to take the higher ground.
  • Discover experimental weapons that devastate the enemy.
  • Share thousands of unique maps with an established, enthusiastic on-line community.
  • Features a unique, original, and awesome soundtrack.

Gosh, the most fun strategy game in a long while. Playable and fun, just the way a good game should be.
  • Controls are excellent, much better than some big budget titles.
  • Well balanced missions
  • Game alt-tabs beautifully.
  • Excellent music
  • Can be paused at any time.

I hate Tower Defense games with a passion. This is NOT Tower Defense! Don't believe the lies! It's a SCAM! This game is actually good.

Probably the most unique RTS I've ever seen. The increased variety of scenarios possible compared to the first Creeper world provides depth of gameplay beyond the options of rush to the objective or turtle your starting position until you steamroll the neverending tide of creeper trying to drown you (not that either of those can't be fun).

This game is one of the most unique games i have ever payed. I have been in the creeper world since the beginning, and i was very excited when i noticed a version was coming out for steam. the mechanics of the creeper are unlike any opposing force you will encounter in any game. It is easy to learn btu difficult to perfect, you are always learning new strategies and it is highly addictive to play. Highly recommended.

A fantastic game! Very fun and addictive.
And if you beat the main missions? There are more! Tons of missions by the developers and by other players!

My only complaint is that the soundtrack lacks a good number of songs, but it is good music, and really not a huge deal.

This is a pretty good game continuing the great Creeper World series. I would highly reccommend it to anyone who has played the Flash games and likes what they played. The storyline is pretty solid and the gameplay is flawless and endless. Apparently there are bugs since they're patching them but I never notice them... maybe I've played too much Planetside 2 :P

9/10. $15 is a bit much and tbh I bought it on discount, but I'd rather consider it a donation to this great series then the purchase of a somewhat small game. But as stated before, it's as good as flawless, has a virtually infite number of missions and it's tons of fun!

Wow. I never played something like this before. An addicting masterpiece of strategy game.
I'm willing to admit that the game doesn't look especially good. But do you really place more value on visuals than on gameplay? I hope you don't... Otherwise you will miss out an awesone little strategy game.
This is worth your money.

A seemingly simple, easy to pick up RTS with mechanics that afford incredible depth. Reminiscent of Total Annihilation (intentionally so, given the inclusion of the signature bertha cannon) and the under appreciated gem perimeter.

There is a great amount of value here for a game of this type. Each level in the campaign introduces a new unit or a new mechanic or just has some kind of unique property to make it interesting which is really the key to any decent RTS campaign. After you 'finish' the main story there is a bounty of user designed maps, wacky beta tester maps and 2 'sectors' of conventional maps with a specific goal in mind, not to mention the ability to design your own maps. Not only is the replay potential limitless it's also really good content in its own right, some of the use made maps are really fun and if you beat it in the fastest time you get to 'claim' it as your own.

If you're into oldschool RTS like red alert 2, starcraft or the aforementioned TA this the ultimate indie game, you wont get a better experience for your money. I honestly can't believe this was developped by one guy given the amount of content squeezed in and the elegance of the design.

Wait for it to go on sale unless you absollutely feel you will like this game. For those who love tower defense and strategy games in general you will love this game, even though it is rather short. The main bad thing is the difficulty curve that starts out very easy for the first fourth and gradually increases until around two thirds of the way through where it shoots up extremely. Graphics are very simple but acceptable and the soundtrack is very good, though extremely limited. For anyone who isn't sure i would play the flash game version thats about seven levels long on sights like kongretate and armor games before making your decision.

Nice tower defence game. The main enemy is a fluid that you have to keep at bay and then force into retreat. Very playable, although not perfect. Worth looking at if you enjoy tower defence, but maybe not the first tower defence title to buy as a first TD game.

Good enough to recommend.

Currently working my way through the campaign and can say it is horribly addictive once you begin building up your arsenal. The game eases you into what soon becomes a challenging mix of resource gathering and holding back the endless creeper threat.

Well worth a buy and you will sink hours into it!

I've always had a thing for RTS and Tower Defense games, and so when I first found Creeper World on Kongregate, I was overjoyed. There were many different versions available freely there. Recently, I decided to purchase the third installment to see how it was.

There is much to love about this game. The game follows more or less the same rules throughout, but the final two story missions are definite game changers. I've seen many complain about losing on the second to last mission due to time constraints - I myself lost the first time around, but with a little advice I figured out how to beat it. The consistency of the gameplay can make things a little drab if you play too much, but if you enjoy one level, you're likely to enjoy a whole lot more - and there are a whole lot more. There's an practically endless array of levels once you beat most of the story. You can binge play or play a game every once in a while - either way, it will take you a long time to run out of official maps, and you'll never run out of custom ones. The game isn't all too challenging if you remember to pause frequently and keep tabs on the Creeper and your resources, but there are more difficult levels available if that's what you're looking for. The graphics are solid - nothing incredible, but well-done nonetheless.
