Other than the lag it causes(it is because of the patch that came with the DLC, not the DLC itself), it is a very good DLC that adds to the game. Although you don't find yourself playing india that much, it is still nice if you do.

10/10 would invade india as a norse again.

This is the expansion that ruined Crusader Kings 2. If you don't already own it then buying it won't ruin your game, buying it only unlocks the content which is already in the game. Before Rajas of India the game ran smoothly, after Rajas it ran like crap. Before Rajas faction revolts used to actually threaten kings and emperors because each faction member became independent, had full use of all their levies, could hire mercenaries and call in allies to aid them. After Rajas they were united under one leader, meaning he couldn't make use of 100% of their levies and can't call in allies.

This means that kings and emperors are almost never toppled. It's common to start a game in the earliest start date and, 400 years later, every single faction in the game will still be ruled by the dynasty that ruled at the start of the game.

But that's nothing compared to the performance issues that came with this expansion. The game runs so badly after adding India. Unforgiveable. I wish Paradox had never made this expansion. It sucks and it ruined CK2.

Rajas of India takes Crusader Kings to a whole new area, for a very different feel and flow to the game than when playing in Europe. It's fantastic.

A fairly defining DLC that adds even more replayability to a game that already approaches infinity in that regard, not to mention some pretty cool options for games converted to EU IV. My favourite is going Viking, getting parts of North Africa (all of it namely) and heading over to India to get a jump start on the British Empire, under Odin, Vishnu and Kali. KALI!

The patch that came with this DLC includes the map expansion east, but you need this DLC to play as indian rulers. Overall I would say don't get this DLC until you know CK2 is right for you. I dont play indian rulers that often, so i didnt really get my monies worth, but there comes some satisfaction in owning the major DLCs.

Opens up India to the player, and with it some unique mechanics, but fails to make India an intersting part of the world to play.Disappointed by the lack of curry jokes. Does Sweden not have Indians or something? They love curry jokes and a tip of the hat to this would have been appreciated.

Very nice expansion. I have a feeling the added threat against muslim countries makes it easier to survive as the Byzantines. But in my book that is a good thing. ;)

Only reason I bought CK2.... I am a fan of all strategy games, especially Total war games. I do not have much experience with Paradox mostly playing mount and blade (is that paradox?) but other than that I have not tried any others. The selling point in CK2 was that it was about people, I like having individuals and a sense of role play in strategy.... EU 4 and such seemed to not have that.

On to Rajas expansion, most of my college studies were in buddhism, hinduism, and the history of Indian religions... watching people play lets play as these cultures as they were confused as to what anything meant... who shiva is, what a brahman is, and why you should have your head priest as one.

Not many people think of Buddhism as an Indian religion because it has taken hold strongest in the far east, however in the dark/middle ages, it had a strong presence and wars were fought about which relgion would be the dominate religion in India.. I cant think of a modern game that lets me play out this time and location of history, where I can think of 10 other games that let you play a king in fuedal europe....

IF you are interested in Hinduism and Indian culture, as well as Buddhism, or just want to experience a new world than what we are used to, grab this up,

This DLC gives you the option in game to swap to your Liege's culture, or the culture of your capital county for the cost of 500 prestige.
I never play CK2 in India, or Persia. I have no interest in Janism, Buddism, etc, or the caste system in Indian culture.
If this interests you, buy. If you are only interested in culture swapping, cheat (culture frankish) (prestige -500). If you play Ironman, the culture swap bonus is nice... but not at all important.
I purchased it only to support the game I have almost 2000hrs playing.

This DLC unlocks playing as an Indian ruler, using three new religions (jain, buddhism, and hindu), an indian theme UI when playing as a character with indian culture, and a bunch of new events when playing as an indian and a few when not.

Do note that you can still invade India with the expanded steppe area and have to deal with the new religions without buying the DLC.

Pick this up when on a great sale or if you really want to play an Indian and sacrifice people to Kali.

With great difficulty

Certainly not a Sunset Invasion sort of DLC, Rajas of India is actually rather decent if you intend to play as an Indian ruler; something not many people do, actually, due to various issues with rebel spam and what-not.

Though mods such as Lux Invicta and Historical Immersion Project (HIP) will most likely utilise some of the mechanics used in this DLC or may improve upon the existing mechanics and gameplay to create a more interesting and fun game. So if you have any issues with how it plays in vanilla, check out some of the mods around on the CK2 Paradox forums.

Certainly worth getting with the sale going on at the moment ($3), though.

As a British woman, I have to say, I find Rajas of India an offensive additon to what had previously been an exceptional game; specifically, I'm talking about the British Raj achievement added with this new DLC/patch. This achievement makes light of a dark time for the British Empire, when we lost the whole of India to that usurper Ghandi! Paradox Interactive has a history of ignoring historical fact, writing it off as "nationalism" but this is one step too far; the British Empire is not some minor Balkan state (I won't name names, but its Serbia), but a grand empire that brought the light of civilisation to the darkest parts of the world (I am of course speaking about the electric lightbulb).

my clay!!!!/10
