    • SO: Windows XP SP2 / Vista / 7
    • Procesador: Intel® o AMD™ a 1.9 Ghz o superior
    • Memoria: 256 MB
    • Disco Duro: 70 MB de espacio libre
    • Gráficos: Tarjeta con 256 Mb compatible con DirectX 9.0c
    • Sonido: Compatible con DirectX 9.0c

Gridrunner Rev is the oft overlooked Llamasoft game. I sorta get why, it's not the most approachable despite being clearly designed -to be- the most approachable.

That said, it's a little hard to grasp as it exists in its own world and with its own language. Exploding suns, flowers, pretty colours yet really, it's a fairly straightforward game to play with a strong scoring mechanic. Essentially, the prettier a pattern you make on screen with your bullets, the higher you score. If nothing else, that's different, right?

If I had to pull it on anything it's that it locks the best part of the game behind an awful unlock system. You have to wade through a slow and slightly uninteresting group of stages before the high score mayhem can begin in earnest. Again, a clear attempt to draw people in but let's be realistic here, Gridrunner Rev is -for- the kind of people who really enjoy score chasing.

And y'know, when the whole screen explodes around you with the Neon effects in the background it's quite the sight to behold.

So yeah, a bit janky round the edges, attempts at accessibility that fall a little flat but a great underloved gem that given some time to gel makes for a good companion piece to Space Giraffe.

Gridrunner Revolution.... One of the many space shooters out there. What sets this game apart from all the other space shooters is the fact that in this game you have to collect Sheep...... yes space sheeps I think..... the will upgrade your weapon....

You don't have to press a button to shoot, no you will be shooting the whole time takes, you only need to dodge the enemies bullets and collect sheep and lifes.

The game looks like a nice screensaver with all kinds of weird things flying on the screen which suppose to be space ships i think, The sheeps are nice and visible though...

To be honest, I'm not into space shooters, especially the ones with weird graphics and space trance music. This is suppose to be a remake of Gridrunner on the Commodore 64 but this game should've stayed in the past where it belongs.

Stunning game!

Watching the game in full flow is truly a sight to behold, so much insanity going on all at once but I never felt overwhelmed or feel confused or lost in the action.

Music's awesome too!

Soundtrack and visuals for this game are amazing. That combined with it's unique, but familar arcade gameplay make this my favorite llamasoft game.

Another one of my guilty pleasures: I've never really done well in this game, but I don't care. If I'm looking to create something damn near meditative, I pop this open for a while and run with it.

If you're of a certain age, then the name Geoff Minter and Llamasoft with bring back memories of bonkers games played on the Commodore Vic20, C64 and beyond. Full of sheep, graphics that induce LSD type trances and later, hypnotic trance music, Llamasoft games are an experience beyond just merely shooting things, you find youself zoning out and playing with your subconscious. Gridrunner Revolution is classic Llamasoft at its best and the bonus Vic20 mode unlocked after completing the first level set (all levels named after increasingly strong curries) will take you back to your misplaced youth.

If you grew up playing Playstation or Xbox games, then there will be a huge dose of WTF and this game will probably not be for you. Go search youtube for some gameplay videos if you are unsure. If you want a surreal, hypnotic blaster, then this is money well spent.

excellent shump

it looks weird as hell, and it is.

but....
the control scheme is a work of genius and its one of those games where when you get in the zone your score flies, you end up playing on instinct picking up visual and aural queues that get you through the bullet hell of the later vindaloo and phaal levels. (yeah the dificulty levels are named after strengths of curry!)

I was a pretty big fan of GridRunner++ after being introduced to it years ago, and it was one of those great "pick up and play" games I'd throw on every now and then for a good score-running time.

GridRunner Revolution has just never managed to hold me the way the original game has. One is supposed to derive a sense of satisfaction out of curving bullets around the screen to create a psychedelic swath of death, but I've never been able to figure out exactly how this mechanic works or if I'm actually playing it right due to the game's lack of real feedback. I have no idea why my bonus indicator hovers at 10-30 and suddenly spikes to 150+, and am never able to replicate the events that led to it. Giving the player random ships with every life, each with different firing angles and speeds, also doesn't really help one learn much either. It just feels like a big random mess that I'm somehow surviving.

Stages never really feel like they get a chance to breathe long enough and the game doesn't really seem to start until well the Vindaloo stages, which is well over half the game. The first 100 stages are just boring and slow, and the last half whizzes by because the required enemy counts to finish each stage feel too low.

I'll just remain content being at odds with critics on this one. Bummer that GridRunner++ is no longer for sale, because I'd really recommend that one over this revolution.

Great re-think of a Jeff Minter "classic" (although I didn't like the original). A whacky & tripped-out blast-fest.

This is such a ♥♥♥♥! It seems that this "game" is a kind of recession of how high ♥♥♥♥ can be released and paid for. The music is good, if you like dance/techno music which I really do, but the rest? The ship fires itself all the time, so everything you do is to move your mouse while collecting SHEEP!!! Got it?! You collect sheep in space or what it should be! You just move the ship while the enemies GO AWAY FROM YOU! Was playing this for couple of minutes wondering if this is serious. Unfortunately, it was... Bought it in an indie pack, luckily the rest of the pack was good :) Otherwise it would be waste of your money.

DO NOT WANT.

You seriously, don't want this game. Even if you think you do. It prides itself on being quirky but it's much like when your father thought he could use some current language and be 'hip' but really just was more lame than if he'd just admitted he wasn't 'hip'.

If you haven't heard of Jeff Minter and his love of sheep don't buy this. If however you have and remember playing Gridrunner on the commodore 64 then you will love this game. Play through loads of levels and unlock the original Versions. Jeff at his best.
