This DAW is for medium to advanced users, it comes with more options and tools compared to Music Maker.
Samplitude is great for recording your own instruments, to edit them and so on.
I however use Samplitude only using VSTi's from the Native Instruments store.
-Multi tracking. Samplitude allows 16 VSTi's loaded up at the same time. When you use multi-tracking, you can 16-out each track. 16 * 16 = 256 channels. So that's 128 instruments (Tutorial in the comments).
-Fully customizable UI to suit your own liking.
-The grey default skin it uses is comfortable for the eyes, making it pleasant to work with for long periods of time.
-It starts up quick, loads VSTi's quicker than Music Maker.
-The MIDI editor can be dragged outside of the program, so you can place it anywhere you want. It also comes with a "sheet mode" button. So you can print out your piano compositions and share them with others.
-Using the ASIO4ALL V2 audio driver makes the program run flawless.
-You can set markers to regulate the bpm throughout your composition, making it go slower or faster any time you wish. For example when you want an outro, but at a lower bpm.
-It cannot run VSTi's in 32-bit mode because it runs out of memory quickly and crashes the program instantly. Always use 64-bit instead.
