About the Game

In MEVO's quest to reunite his band, bring back 'FUNK', and defeat the enemy SILENCE, players must successfully progress through five beautifully crafted worlds (Ocean, Jungle, Desert, Space and Wormhole), finding avatars along the way that will help our reluctant hero unlock other levels and reach certain scores. Using a simple 2-key tap system (space bar and enter), players tap out the beats to re-energize MEVO and push him forward.

As the game progresses, the beat sequences become more complex, evolving from basic single beats to rapid beats, combinations, sequences and long-hold sustains with breaks. By successfully completing the levels, players can access new areas and songs, or be rewarded with in-game items, such as avatar pieces that are needed to activate power-ups. Power-ups include slow mo, shield up, "perfect boost" scoring, and autopilot. No matter what skill level, players are rewarded with avatars, dance packs and badges to help progress through the game. Even though the game is accessible and easy to play for all levels of players, advanced players will be challenged with the game's multiple layers of game play, including hidden levels, power-ups, badges and dance packs.

As I review the past year, I found I've played MEVO more than any other Steam game I own. It's fun, addicting, and good practice as a musician for beat synchopation and overall coordination. The tunes are cool, and they stay with you. If you like old-school funk, it's a must-have! This game is the definition of "diamond-in-the-rough" If youi are considering MEVO...I truly think you won't be disappointed.

It only uses two buttons, left and right, but for a music game it works. You play through 13 levels, each with a different and pretty funky beat, some of which can be surprisingly challenging. You also get to dress up Mevo to give him extra bonuses which can look cute, especially the L4D character skins.

This game is pretty fun! Two-button rhythm game with a funk soundtrack that has a good deal of challenge for people familiar with music games. Highly recommended! Try the demo if you're curious, it's also got little powerups that'll help compensate for tough songs/beating challenges you can't.

Do you like rhythm games? Do like cross dressing as Zoey from L4D? Do you love it when the developer lies about new updates and then proceeds to drop the title and completely switch platforms a few months after the game is created? If so then THIS GAME IS FOR YOU!

Controlled by two buttons, that's all. The bloke runs the platforms all by himself, and all you need to do is hit the left or right shift key at the appropriate moment. Sounds easy? It's anything but.

Fun visuals, an odd but funky soundtrack, and a generally charming and quirky game. If you have quick fingers and a sense of rhythm, you may well enjoy this.

I only have the latter, and I still really like it...
