This pack is great. System of a Down is a great band. If you don't know these songs or the band look 'em up. Be warned that two of the songs are written in D drop C, which might be diffcult on some guitars.

It's System in a Down in Rocksmith. What do you expect?

Pros:
  • It's System of a Down
  • Songs have great difficulty settings so beginners like me can do somewhat well on these songs, while more experienced players can really master Daron's riffs.

Cons:
  • BYOB is censored. Assuming you're a big SOAD fan and that's why you want to play their songs... hearing silence when you clearly know a "f-word" belongs there might get on your nerves a little bit. Espicially if you're practicing that part of the song over in particular using Riff Repeater. I'm not sure how DLC affects ESRB ratings... so this might have been done in order to maintain their T-rating on the base version of the game. But if DLC doesn't affect a base game's ESRB rating... there's no excuse for giving us most of a song, espicially considering Rocksmith's and SOAD's target audience. Besides... it's not like kids are picking this game up in the bargin bin at GameStop or anything... this game is expensive. We deserve 100% of a song, not most it.

Other:
  • As another reviewer pointed out, SOAD often uses a tuning that might not play well on your guitar. Aerials is currently not playable for me on my current setup, but I plan on getting some new strings anyway since most my favorite bands tend to use lower tunings. Strings are not expensive, and guitar players looking to play SOAD should expect this.
  • Only 3 SOAD songs? For a band that changes their sound so much from song to song (let alone album to album), I would have loved to have a bigger selection even if it cost us more. Spiders, Prison Song, I-E-A-I-A-I-O, or Holy Mountains would have been cool additions.
