The game is nice. (If you are not a mechanic by profession)

But in order to truly simulate being a mechanic includes jammed, rusty bolts, time waiting for THAT one itty bitty part that isn't in stock and (is being shipped across the globe and you've to wait). Also getting an entirely wrong part is occassional

Also the customers in IRL tend to be really, REALLY vague about what is wrong with the car"It just sputters/jerks when shifting/makes a funny noise/stops" or rant that their uncle's wife's godsons half-brother's car had the same problem fixed with WD-40 and a hammer instead of a $500 new part.

Also the pricing is sometimes a bit weird. a OBD check is about 40 bucks average in my hometown.

I still like the game, it reminds me how i thought car fixing was easy when i was a kid. WROONG! *Gets PTSD flashback from that one clutch job*

First let me tell you, that I have absolutely no ♥♥♥♥ing clue about cars. I don't even own a license and I am 28. So when this game threw words at my face, telling me to check/change them, I was totally confused. But that's exactly where the fun starts. Call it "exploring" if you want to.

I played it 10 hours straight and finished the non-DLC part (76 "missions") without realizing how time is passing by. Once you get used to it, there's something like a workflow that shows up. Like a daily routine, you know exactly what to do and you feel like a ♥♥♥♥ing car mechanic who could open his own shop (Don't do it. You will fail and fall on your fugly face. Your family and friends will come at you and remind you that they "told you so").

I got the game for free, so no big thinking there. At first I was like "Yeah, probably just another stupid simulator where 50% doesn't work and the other 50 are bugs.", but I gave it a chance and damn it was fun. If money is not an issue for you, than it's probably smarter to go for the newer 2015 edition that seems to have tons of more features and stuff. I will buy it myself I guess.

Pros:
- Addicting
- You'll get a hang of it after a few question marks over your head and then the fun starts
- Kinda of an upgrade system
- The graphic is okay'ish for this type of game. You usually don't expect either nothing or comic style from simulators.
- This game can make you feel satisfied when you finish your job in the right way. It just feels good like when a girl touches your balls.

Cons:
- The camera is pure ♥♥♥♥ for like 80% of the time
- I don't know about other languages, but the german translation is so hardcore garbage that I almost want to make it a "pro" for a humouristic attempt.
- Clicking on small stuff, combined with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ camera, can be painfully annoying. You know what I'm talking about when you try to switch your first spark plug.
- No search function in the parts shop. Scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and dieing while scrolling and scrolling and balls.

The controls to this simulator are soooooooooooooooo bad. Like you are locked in weird menu modes, with no obvious way to move around to different car parts. It becomes an exercise in how to work out how to get the wheel off, when it will let you take apart every part of the car other than the wheels which are the only thing you need to examine. Arggggh!

Why do people insist on making such terrible controls for software, and aweful menus? Just keep it simple and functional. The colour and shape of the menus do nothing for the enjoyment.

At first, the game is just telling you about how to move around, and interact with some objects, and then begin with first order.
This game lacks explanation and direction. I wandered around the garage and tried anything just to understand what to do.
Definitely needs better tutorial.

The camera is shaky and too much mouse sensitivity when in first person mode. The mouse sensitivity is acceptable when in inspect mode.

I don't know much about car components and such, but I can feel that this game displays all those components in such detail, even how to assemble and disassemble parts.
And I didn't expect there is a test drive feature, where you can drive the car to test acceleration, breaking, etc.

Fun game, and unique gaming experience.

This game is great. I don't know lots about cars and im not really interested in them, but i had a couple bucks in my steam wallet and it was on sale so i picked it up. I havent played a ton of it, but so far its super fun. You dont have to know anything about cars to play this game. You just have to use your detective skills and be thorough. Overall, great game so far.

Perfect Simulation: I'm Going To Change The Brake Pads
  • Turn on radio like a boss
  • Easily raise car with lift
  • Examine undercarriage, feeling like a real mechanic
  • Spend several minutes looking at brake pads, not sure of what to do
  • Don't have any tools
  • Accidentally take essential part out of axle, without knowing how to put it back on
  • Immediately lose this part forever
  • Still be unable do anything to help with the brake pads
  • Decide to try again when less high
Pretty Much Exactly Right

One of the best Simulator titles in the market. At first might be a little difficult for people who doesn't know a lot about cars but after a while it gets simple.

+Cars aren't 100% accurate but people who doesn't know a thing about inside of a car can get general idea about how stuff works.
+Upgrade system, a nice addition to the game which could be improved even furthermore.
+Variety of cars and parts.
+Progression of your garage, makes you feel like you're doing progress, not just fixing never ending cars.

-Freedrive feels like a chore just to get wheels of a car marked. No mater if they're at 1% or 100% they still feel the same while driving.
-Too much of dynamic movements. Camera is never steady, when you focus on some part of the car and remove it, camera jumps into some other place so you accidently click on wrong part again and again.

First of I'm totally clueless when it comes to car, I tried this game out after watching some gameplays of other simulators on YouTube that I found hilarious lol (Immortal HD's Sunday Simulators)

Campaign is the only mod that I actually played, so take that into consideration when reading this review.

In this game I literally disassembled the whole car searching for the fuel filter, it was in the back and I had to use lift to get under the car, haven't thought about it before I took off the tires xD

The graphics are insane, the details and ♥♥♥♥... resulted into lags for me, even on the low settings.

Sounds/music 10/10 pretty intense, for a garage where you are unscrewing screws

I finished only 2 jobs, in the third it said something like try out the car or something, so you can even drive the fixed cars I guess? (I had to replace the damaged parts, which I found bothersome so I didn't do that).

TLDR; GPU demanding music player

Before you ask, no, you won't learn how to replace your busted clutch or how to find that squeaky sound underneath your car- it's not that type of game. What you will find, however, is a great puzzle game that is a breath of fresh air compared to the thousands of other puzzle games out there.

The premise is simple: you own a mechanic shop, and people bring you cars (problems) to fix. You get a short blurb to tell you a bit of information, but the amount of information that you get can vary- going from "Hey, my battery is dead, can you fix it?" to "Something squeaks under the car. Fix it." Your goal is to find and fix the problem while trying not to run out of cash- you get an extra amount of cash for each order, and if that runs out, you can ask the bank for a loan that you have to pay back. To be honest, though, if you're careful about what you buy and aren't replacing stuff willy-nilly, you ought to be fine. Just remember- fix it if you can, or replace it outright if you need to.

And don't worry about losing parts- the game will not only make you remove items in order off the car, but it will also force you to put them back in order, as well- there's no need to worry about missing any parts- unless it's something like a starter or a plastic engine cover, but even then it won't let you mark it as done until the car is completely put back together.

Once each objective is met, you'll be able to mark the car as "fixed" and send it on its way.

There are over seventy problems in the base game alone- plus another twenty in the DLC pack that comes free with the game. There's another free DLC pack launching later this month with another pack of problems, and that will add even more value to it.

The problems I have with this game are actually somewhat slight- for one, some of the detection on th orders can be really, REALLY picky. If it tells you to replace the right front tire, then your new wheel must go on the right front- you can't just move a used wheel from the other side of the car onto there, because it's not explicitly a new wheel. It's smart to take big orders a step at a time for this reason- work on one region of the car at a time, and replace everything needed- or make notes as to what the busted parts were. There is nothing more swear-worthy in this game than completing a huge order, but being unable to continue because you didn't put some tiny part back in its right space- and then you have to pull the whole blasted thing apart to hunt for it.

The only other complaint I have is that you will want to hit the radio with a wrench and kill it dead after a half-hour of its awful music. If you need music, bust out an iPod or turn on an actual radio, because this one will make you want to take it out to the test track and drive over it a few dozen times. Would it have been too much to ask to get a simple MP3 player in there or something?

All in all, though, if you're looking for a puzzle game that isn't something about jewels, you'll enjoy this- especially if you have an interest in cars.
