The Graveyard is a very short computer game. You play an old lady who visits a graveyard. You walk around, sit on a bench and listen to a song. It's more like an explorable painting than an actual game. An experiment with poetry and storytelling but without words.

About This Game

The Graveyard is a very short computer game. You play an old lady who visits a graveyard. You walk around, sit on a bench and listen to a song. It's more like an explorable painting than an actual game. An experiment with poetry and storytelling but without words.
Buying the full version of The Graveyard adds only one feature, the possibility of death. The full version of the game is exactly the same as the trial, except, every time you play she may die.
Designed by Auriea Harvey and Michael Samyn. Animations by Laura Raines Smith. Music by Gerry De Mol. Sound effects by Kris Force.

An amazing experience, such beauty and passion which can only be influenced in such a short amount of time. If you are playing this game for a first time I would recommend not equipping the sword until you have reached the holy grail as the enemy will start attacking you before you reach the bench.

Maybe I am not understanding this game but it really is not much fun. Getting her to sit down was actually hard to do. The controlls seemed to be strangly configured and no way to remap them. I also was not able to do anything after she sat down.

Yesterday I was taking a walk in the park, I sat down near a lake and pulled out a sandwich I had bought at a nearby deli. I was stricken by an overwhelming sense of serenity and appreciation. Over out at the lake there sat an island with a giant tree, who's branches had been made home to a number of birds nests. From the lake, I could catch sight of elderly men fishing, children playing with bread crumbs and ducks, a couple holding hands and taking a walk, a shirtless man on a jog, two women passing by on a bike. Every one of them wrapped up in their own world, but all the same, part of an ecological system that brought upon a feeling of peace, safety, and a certain pure beauty that made me aware of just how nice the cool breeze felt running across my skin from the hot summer heat, the underlying frailness of some waterside flowers that reflected beautifully on the lake's surface, and the pleasures of smell the fauna brought simply from its own life and death cycle.

None of that resonated in this lifeless game, it has absolutely no artistic merit, and the song sucked.

10/10, would put my wrinkly old woman butt on a bench again.

Whatever you do, do not buy this. Save your money and spend 10 minutes to watch it on youtube instead.
If you really want to 'play' this, download the demo, it's basically the full game, just that you don't die...which makes no difference.

The description says:
It's more like an explorable painting than an actual game.

Well yeah, it's not. Exploring the graveyard? Forget about it, you will be able to walk straight to a bench and sit down. Awesome, innit?

Not sure if this 'art game' is even trying to be deep? If it does, it fails.
I get the point, but seriously, this is horrible.

Queen Heoly -: god this was awful lol
President Moon: like how awful
President Moon: 1-10
Queen Heoly -: 10

I'm all for 'different' games, but yeh, skip this one.

While you're at it take a look at the discussions though, lol.
