This really is an amazing game. I've heard that the second one is better, but for me, this is hands down the best amusement park sim I have ever played. The platinum version gives you RTC:Soaked which is an awesome water park addition and RTC:Wild, which adds animals and allows you to make your own safari, something like Animal Tycoon

The glory that is RCT3... loved this game since I was a kid. It has something for all gamers, whether you want to be upstuck and businesslike making the pinnicale of rollercoaster cash cows, or mess around and torture the peeps by trapping them all in your park without food, drink, washrooms, or evilest of all.... no sun cream. There's also the inbetween of making some kicking coasters and what not. Now the game is damn old by now, but still shows the care and precision put into the game. but who cares about graphics...

*One overlooked feature is the simplicity of the savefiles on the computer, so shareing saved coasters and parks is wicked easy, just a matter of dropping the file into the right folder.

over all, buy it, you probably will not regret it. It was worth $20 when released, and in all honesty, hasnt depreciated much. The fact that it is available on steam allows for it to be even easier to play and use, with no need to use the disc, although I have noticed that the load times are somewhat longer without the disc.

PS. MAKE A PROPER FOURTH ONE ATARI!!!! and it is nice to see frontier still kickin it.

This game is fairly old, fairly dated but outrageously awesome.

If you like making crazy theme parks get it. But then, who doesn't.

This is the best Theme Park Tycoon ever! and i don't mean how realistic it is, just because it was made 10 years ago doesn't mean it sucks. I like it because it's fun, it's creative, and it's easy to build stuff unlike Theme Park Studio's advanced building. I REALLY recommend this game if you like theme parks and if you are creative. (Like me) :)

A game where you can see true potential. RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3: Platinum was at the front of the video game industry, directly influencing born-to-be Amusement Park managers. I personally became a carnie from playing this game.

Only got a little of the way in to this, but already know I won't play any more. It just doesn't have the magic that the previous games did when I was younger.

Don't buy this and expect RCT 1&2.

5/10 Ever played a RCT game before? Me too, then I got the gamer's high and figured I'd try this old horse out again with all the shiny updates, new cover and a number "3" instead of a number "2" at the end of the title.
What a waste of money.
It's just as laggy and mindless as I remember, which some people like, I grant you, but I am not one of those types. This is an excellent game for a child under the age of 14 who is just breaking into a real gaming PC, but maybe FPSs or RTSs are too complicated; or the machine you're using is so out-dated that this is the only game you can play. Honestly, I see no real changes to this edition when I put it aside RCT 2. The graphics are nicer and more smooth, but all the employees, rides, options and flavour is the exact same. Sure the "story" mode has different maps and settings, but at the end of the day you're just running another crappy amusment park, advertising in the same venues, and figuring out the best way to rip off faceless droves of NPCs just enough that you gouge them without turning them away. It's a micro-manager's wet dream much in the same way that EVE is, but very much without the rewarding sense of accomplishment or space lasers.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 + 2 with 3D. Man, CameraCoaster it's the best feature, period!
It's a game from 2006, so take this in consideration while buying it. But damn, I totally recommend this one!

Great addition to the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, especially with Platinum's new zoo and waterpark elements. You can finally ride your own rides, and there's finally a sandbox mode! The only downside to this third entry in the series is the inability to kill your park guests.

This has become one of my favourite games very quickly. And it has good reason to...
RCT3 allows you to build amazing and stupid roller coasters as much as you want to with a lot of customisation, including how fast the coasters go and what colour each part is. The on-ride camera is an amazing feature which lets you see how good your roller coasters really are (and make you feel sick if you make them go as fast as I do!).
The game may be old but it has aged well, the graphics might not look top-notch but it's not too noticeable. And I find that the game takes a long time too load (not everyone seems to get this problem).
Overall, this is a game worth spending money on, it provides hours of entertainment and a huge choice of stuff to do.
