Think what would happen if a MOBA and a 3rd person shooter had kids, and it rocked.
Anyone love playing arena in League and Smite, or just killing each other in DOTA without the interference of minions or side objectives? This might be the game for you. The set up is an open map where you and your friends just go at each other for the kill, and its all skillshots. You don’t have to worry about auto locked attack that hit you across the map and kill you.(I’m looking at you Karthus), but you do have to move and think.
The controls are what I would say are a mix of fps and MOBA. if you are willing to take a few seconds to learn them then its really quick to pick up on. Though it does at times go against your better nature.
obviously if you don't like MOBA's or the top down feel you might not like this game. Also If you go into this thinking its a simple mindless top down shooter you won't last long. You could say that it is, and treat it that way. However, that's only a small part of the gameplay, and you won't last that long. You have to learn the character you're playing and figure out how best to use their power.
For example. I like the sub zero clone. ( I know that may seem harsh but its true, and i love this game for it.) he is quick and has the ability to move in hit you and move out. i found that i should never be still with him. Hes not weak per say but hes not the strongest either. He has an ability to slide in and hit his opponent then smack them around for a bit and slide on out. but that won't work on every enemy. then female sniper can hit well past his slide distance. So for her I try to go all in.
you also have to learn to skillshot. for those of you that don't know what that means. It means you have to aim at your opponent and interpret their movement in order to hit them. This is not COD or MW. you can't just shoot at someone first to win. like i said. learn your skills, how your opponent plays, and figure out how to best move to counter them.
the mechanics are well thought out and i think this game has a bright future... if more people play that is. This game isn't the next LOL or DOTA, and not all of the features are finished yet. i would like an in game friends list so i could play with close pals online. or the ability to make a private room. hopefully its on the way. However, it has its own sub genre niche that it can definitely fit into. Purely arena i suppose. I'm looking forward to when we can have 3 to 5 people going at it on each team.
