Automatic Banning system + Season

Hello everyone,

I wanted to bring this to your attention. There are still alot of cheaters, and we are manually banning them but the amount of reports are just crazy so I cannot put my time into reading them so this is what we do:

Our system that detects that item stats have been changed with a 3rd party software, or any values in the game have been changed with a 3rd party software will just permanently ban you instantly if this happens.

Not to worry because the algorithm is 100% proof and wont ban you without reason.

In better news, we are slowly getting those wormholes in a working state and can start thinking about launching the first season!

ps. I dont like banning people but I hope this stops atleast 1 of you from doing something stupid!

Alot of Fixes to online multiplayer

We have sat down to read the most "helpful" reviews which are mostly negative since there have been problems in the game. We really worked hard and took action to fix all those, and have managed to iron them out! I'd like to personally thank everyone who has taken the time to actually write a review of the game, negative or positive. It helps alot to be able to read them! After all thats what we want, a product as flawless as possible!

Prepare to fight, to die, to cry after dying (and want to throw the controller/keyboard at the screen when that happens) and inevitably, to come back for more!

I use an X-Box controller to play it, it's (imo) easier.

Fun as @#$%, even if a bit repetitive, that's a game you'll love to play!

A very great idea, yet TOO MANY issues waiting to be resolved. Too f.ing buggy and it's really f.ing annoying that my 70 lvl char (very stable at nightmare difficulty ) is somehow one shot killed by a mere dart while trying to farm in a very very early "normal" level. TOO F.ING ANNOYING.

This game is something I reccomend buying in a four-pack. It's enjoyable with friends mostly.

The core fun in this game revolves around creating a character, maxing out the characters stats and such, then making a new one. Multiplayer was it's selling point for me.

I really suggest this game only if you have a good attention span. I don't and as you can see, I only have a few hours of time on it (which I might add, was all in one sitting -with friends).
So it's not bad even then.

Honestly, good single player time killing game. I've never been one for multiplayer, which it is rare to come across a game offering both Co-op and Multiplayer, along with Singleplayer. Overall good game, minus a few bugs that are minor annoyances.

Decent game overall with a lot of similarities to Binding of Isaac. Like BOI, it has you progressing from area to area defeating monsters while collecting items and coins and building your stats to eventually take on the boss for that area. It also has a fair amount of replayability as you can attempt to go through the game on harder difficulties to unlock achievements.

Unlike BOI, it lacks style and flair, as well as some sort of story or setting to hold the game together and to provide motivation to progress or some sort of end-goal to work towards. The latter is not necessarily a must-have for these types of games, but I think it certainly could have been an improvement in this case. In addition, the decision to not explain much and let you figure things out as you go along (again, like Isaac) is fine, but it has issues. The key to letting one figure things out is that one must actually be able to figure things out. In other words, the game doesn't have to hold your hand, but it needs to be intuitive to allow this learning process to happen. Things like referring to the same stat in different ways (mana and energy) will in general initially lead to confusion, and gameplay elements such as an empty unexplained chest forever in your inventory (that apparently is only relevant to some unique end-game boss or something) dont mesh well with the decision to let the player figure everything out on their own.

There are a few things that I particularly like about the game. For one, I think I actually prefer the way the combat feels in Hero Siege over Binding of Isaac. The hits you land on enemies just feel a bit meatier and a bit more impactful. FIghting through waves of them can be both satisfying and addicting. It's because of this that I probably don't mind too much the grindy nature of the game (a complaint I often see). It's true that the game could use some rebalancing to avoid the need to revisit and battle through the same areas to build stats and items, but I enjoy the combat enough that it's doesn't feel too much like a chore. Building a beefed-up character, by the way, can also be quite satisfying. The other thing I like about the game is its art. I'm a sucker for well-done pixel art, and the visuals in the game are just that. It's not anything mind-blowing, but it gives the game a very clean and sharp look.

Overall, I like Hero Siege. It's not amazing, but it's fun enough that I'll probably keep playing it for a while to try to get those achievements. If you like Binding of Isaac, there's a good chance you'll enjoy this to some degree.

It used to be easy to know if some game was good by just reading its reviews at steam. But nowadays everyone thinks that they are some god damn movie critics and they wont recomment game unless its atleast 8.5/10. I saw 1 review by some guy who had played that game for over 9 years and +2000h and he gave negative review.... really u spend over 2k hours to that game which in your opinion sucks??? well and then we come to this game. so many negative reviews and I dont really get why. Its good game and its best game I have ever played which cost 2,50€ (steam sale). After playing it for 8h I can say not even that 6€ price doesnt seem too high for this game I would pay 6€ easily for this good game. It has some gliches but nothing game breaking. I'll give this game 8/10 and this is purely based on feeling that this game gives.

I am painfuly giving this game a negative review, because i just can no recommend it anymore. It started out as a fun game, with fun mechanics, a bit varied playstyle, interesting environments and a cool concept, kinda like the binding of isaac. Now i can say for sure that it is just a grindfest. Despite me and my sister got enough playtime out of it and had our fair share of fun, i can not and probably will not play it further, and i dont see investing time in this game worthwhile, hence the negative review.

A quite addictive game yet quite grindy later on when you become more experienced.
I would suggest this game to quite hardcore gamers since it it quite difficult (if you dont grind a lot)

The Overall experience of this game is fun.
Multiplayer still needs to be tweaked and fixed, it's better just playing solo.

I really like this game!

Only cons, 'cause game is so cooool

I bought it about 2,5 years ago and from the start it was really addictive and challenging.
Last time I play was some months ago... And what I see?
We can play any level in act. IMHO, it makes game easier and less hardcore =(
There is a great void between I and II acts in the game (By the review time a complete only this). I have nothing but play I act, or turn the game difficulty.... Looks like hardcore, but sh!t...
Sooo, more hardcore we need, IMHO. Just make population of waves more and it will be fun!

P.S. useful bug:
1)At the start of level press space button (for all waves)
2)Jump to a dungeon
3)Complete it
4)Only last wave on the map
5)Profit!

Sorry for my english =(

A friend gifted me the game while it was on sale. By the looks of it, I thought it was not going to be the most original game, but when I started playing I couldn't stop until I finished the all the available levels.

I then bought the game for my other friends, and let me tell you, while playing with others it becomes one of the most addicting and fun rpg games I've ever played. Some of my friends even went ahead and bought the dlc's.

Really worth it if you can get another 3 pals to play with. Also fun when playing alone, and the game's not expensive.

Although I really would like the dlc's to be a little cheaper. They cost half of the game's price!

I've played two characters so far: Viking and Pyromancer. I've played with an Xbox gamepad.

Pros:
+ Nice graphics
+ Nice sounds
+ Large selection of characters

Cons:
- The in-game options screen is incomplete. You can't change certain options in-game, you need to go back to the main menu.
- Scenario gets in the way (visually). Sometimes you can't see stuff because it is behind a house, or a tree. Okay, trees get transparent when you move behind them, but houses don't. Still, it requires moving behind it. It is annoying.
- Scenario gets in the way (movement). Sometimes when I'm running walking away from enemies, I get stuck and end up dying. Then I noticed that there was a pillar or tree that I couldn't see because it was transparent.
- Pyromancer attack is ranged. However, even though it can move in any direction (analog stick), it can ONLY shoot in 4 straight directions (even with the analog stick!).
- Pyromancer attacks miss enemies even though visually I believe they should have hit.
- First boss while playing Pyromancer: a skeleton that is immune to ranged attacks.
- While playing a melee character inside a dungeon, both one enemy and the boss were knocked back to behind the dungeon walls. They stayed there, at the "void", outside the dungeon, a location that was supposed to be solid and that no enemy or item should be at.
- Pressing B to quit the inventory screen also counts as "advance to the next wave".
- Pressing D-pad down to move in the inventory screen also counts as "open teleport spell".
- Grinding. Grinding. Lots of grinding.
- Each character requires grinding separately.
- Walking speed is relatively slow. But I know you can grind for items to improve it.
- Feels a bit confusing without a tutorial. What's the objective? What do I keep when I die?
- The inventory screen is confusing. It took me a while to figure out that each empty square is an equippable slot.
- Two currencies? In-game gold and in-game crystals? What's that? Is this a freemium game? I bought this game! This is confusing, even more so without a tutorial.
- All those NPCs in the main area seem confusing. I don't know what they do. And I don't want to waste time walking from one to another (why is walking so slow? why are they so far apart?).

It looks a very polished game.
But if feels very unpolished.

After some grinding to increase the attack strength a lot, playing feels a bit fun. But still confusing and pointless. Without increasing the attack, it feels very boring and repetitive.

Where did all the joinable servers go? where did the gameplay speed go? why did the Devs suddenly feel the need to run the game into the ground? These are questions that will never be answerd I loved this game to death back in the day. It was fantastic nothing was wrong with it say for a few tiny things here & there but it was playable for hours on end! I've racked up almost 300 hours of playtime, now I don't play it at all because it's entirely broken. If I had known what the game was going to become further down the line I would have never bought into it, hurts to say but with every update it's just another step from any sort of working concept.

I remember having such a blast with this game a little over a year ago. I discovered it on my phone and liked it so much I bought it again on steam. It was fast paced and every class was very fun. I come back to it now and I am left utterly confused at why the developers ruined this game. The simplicity of the gameplay also gave it a great charm and replay value, while the difficulty of the game was fair and pushed me to to better as a player. Now it is litterally all a grind and for a unfulfilling game. There are loads of reviews with hundreds of hours played that go into every reason this game is now bad that makes me feel really bad for the whole community.

All I have to say is 'If it aint broke, don't fix it'. I wish I had said this about one year ago.

If there is any way of getting the older version of this game I am down for it.

Review based on updated version 1.6.2.2

Even though I played 40 hours in 1 week, I can't say I recommend this game, at least for those who want to play it in multiplayer. The game itself is great, fun and has a good pace, unfortunately it doesn't end there. You may see other reviews saying it is unbalanced, but that is not what my review is about (and yes, I personally consider the characters very unbalanced).

After a 10 hour session on multiplayer, my reward was an item wipeout after reloging into the game. I searched for people who had those problems and waht to do. Apparently this issue goes back to at least 2014. This is serious.
I know it is not easy to create a game and keep updating it over the years with a 3 people team. You can search in forums and it is clear that the developers do listen to players ideas and feedback. There's even a website where you can post your issues so that they can keep track of problems still going on. Nonetheless, I expect them to prioritize things.
They keep releasing DLC containing new chapters and characters instead of solving gamaplay issues of two years ago. If the game was supposed to be like this, ok, but since it is a know issue, it clearly wasn't.

After losing my items I decided to try one more time. After a 7 hour session, as I click in 'quit' the game stops responding and crashes. I had sold all my unequiped items to avoid lost item issues, but this time's reward was unexpected. Relics wipeout. Earlier this same week one of my characters bugged and it changed class and got to lvl 0. Since I didn't really like him, I figured I'd just delete him.

Looking back to one hell of a buggy week, which bugs are all described in the mentioned website, I can't recommend this game for people searching for multiplayer games, at least not until they solve those often reoccurring problems.

If you enjoy single player, consider getting this game. I only wish that siege mode was playable in single-player.

If you like multiplayer, do not get this product. There are too many game breaking bugs affecting multiplayer right now, it's... a very sad experience, just read the recent game updates.

Currently, I can't recommend this product because I happen to be a part of the multiplayer-camp. If in the future things change, I'll definitely update my review, this game has a lot of potential.

I bought this game for when it was on sale for around 50 cents. That's all this game is worth in my opinion, it's been out at least 4 years and it's still not complete. It's alright fun until you start encountering bugs that literally break the game (i.e. using certain SKILLS of the 4 you have) and the scaling of anything makes no sense.

The talents you level up with are essentially worthless since you'll end up getting items that drawf the max points by the thousand. Not that it seems to matter though because even with 96% damage reduction and 3k+ armor you still die in one hit by just about anything on the levels you're meant to be playing.

You can't even play the most fun mode because it's bugged. Devs posted an apology that they were hungover when writing code so they "patched it." The new patch has even more bugs, didnt' fix the old ones or seem to do anything positive at all.

This game SEEMS like it's worth it, honestly after seeing the dozens of GAME BREAKING bugs (still around 4 years later) I don't think this game should be sold on Steam.

Any redeeming factors this game has shouldn't be addressed until they can fix random crashes or have the attribute system make sense. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME for more than 50 cents.

Having played an extensive amount of this game, I can tell you that this is not a game suited for everyone. I mean, if you enjoy being denied access to the multiplayer before even seeing the server screen, then the regular asking price may be acceptable. Otherwise, stand 500 Feet back!

If you want something to play that'll pass the time or crave a game with the classic RPG feeling to it, then Hero Siege is the perfect game for you. It's, in my opinion, a fantastic little gem of a game. Gameplay wise it feels as though the developer stuffed Diablo’s more reserved brother into a blender with The Binding of Issac, and added in a pinch of Killing Floor for good measure. In more sensible terms, it’s got a great number of rogue-like and RPG elements to it. There are a number of different levels, ranging from forests to snowy tundras, deserts and many more. At the end of each of these levels you can collect random pieces of loot, or relics as they’re called, which grant you varying stats and abilities. These relics come in four different flavours; weapon enhancing ones, which, as the name suggests, enhances your weapon giving it extra powers. For example an item called the Basilisk's Tooth makes it so that you have a 2% chance to turn enemies to stone. There are also passive relics as well, which improve your character’s skills. One example is the Cactus, which periodically spawns a cactus on the nearest enemy. The third relic type is active, which, after pressing the use key, will activate the effect of the relic. The Candy Crusher, one example of an active relic, launches candy in a ring around the player that explodes on landing. And the last relic type is orbiting, which float around the player and help during fights. One example is the Almighty Fedora which rapidly shoots projectiles.
All these and many more can be obtained by progressing through the game, and surviving the large waves of enemies the game throws at you.
Talking about enemies, there are a large number of different types. Ranging from axe throwing skeletons to towering yeti-like beasts. Also there are several “elite” type enemies that have particular skills that happen once they die. For example creating a large laser that spins in a circle or an X shaped explosion, which both appear where the “elite” was slain.
There are also a number of RPG elements in the game too. For one, there are unique skill trees for each class, providing varying passive and active abilities, depending on which class you choose out of the possible seven, or ten (depending on whether you own the DLC). They also all have their own sort of personalities and quotes as well.
Graphically the game looks a lot like your typical indie, rogue-like affair. But it fits nicely. The characters are easily distinguishable from each other and the varying levels all look pixel pretty with their individual themes and settings.
Overall the game feels enjoyable to play. The classes and their skills vary enough for the game to be replayed time and time again. Not to mention the seemingly endless number of experience levels you can rack up on a single class. The enemies vary in difficultly, depending on the level, and the boss battles, for the most part, feel fairly satisfying once they eventually kick the bucket.
To Conclude, I’d say that Hero Siege is worth a play, whether it’s a rogue-like or an RPG you're after, or just a quick bit of fun. It’s a satisfying game to play and well worth a go.

Everytime I try this game again it's like a totally different game, and that's not a good thing. Dev seems insistent on balancing the game towards the 1% of players that play the game religiously, therefore ruining it for basically everyone else.

Hero Siege is a fun game, though the DLC's are WAY too expensive since the game only costs about 3 euro and dlcs like 35+ lol, and you need like 3 dlcs for one to fully work which imo is pretty bad if you only want one hero and not three.
Multiplayer still in BETA, get's disconnected and game freezes sometimes but other than that it's fine.
Fun game if you are bored or just want to spend some time on leveling and picking stuff up :P
Rate: 7,5/10 cus it still has bugs on multiplayer. If this game were to be ever bugfree I'd give it a 9/10 :)

Thanks/ Moa :)

A pretty fun game, lacking polishing and bug squashing drastically, which reminds me of the time when games were made for the fun, not for the money (I am aware of the DLC galore with this game - I guess the three dudes who did this are not even coming close to the kind of profit Assetsvision, Ubistock or Economic Arts turns in, so I'm okay with it). A must have for an evening with a friend and a few beers.

This game isn't quite worth the 50 cents I paid for it. If you're an adult and can afford real games, don't bother.

As someone new to the game it's boring, slow, and the dev(s) seem like real prick(s) from the posts I've read.
Specifically a real vocal one I've been seeing around.
I'd only be able to reccomend this on it's current 90% sale. It might have some good content but like hell I have the patience to grind this ♥♥♥♥.
Don't take my review too seriously I just took a look down there and you can see an ocean of other negative reviews from people with real hours in.
Either way all I see is negative aspects, negative developers, negative communities, and a lot of negative people.
Bring in the damage control boys.

I suppose this game would be fun
if you actually could play it with your friends without getting frustrated and destroying your computer

0/10 would rather play payday 2 again
