Playtime and Time/money
After playing through the game 3 times with a friend at a moderately slow place we pretty much exhausted the game of unique encounters within 3 hours, however, this being said. I really enjoyed what time I was playing the game.

I can't say you should buy this game for only one reason, and that is that the game is too short for the few bucks you'll be spending on it.

Exactly what is this game?
The choose your own adventure game has about 100-200 encounters, (and yes I looked in the game files for this number range) However being that you can hit about 20 per character it's not extremely hard to start seeing repeats in playthrough two. Along with that though I give the game credit where it's due, the game has a very open file system where you can modify... the whole game. Not only can you modify it, but so can anyone else, if you look on the discussions I'm sure you can find a player made extension or a whole 'nother story, which is great! that looks to be more play time added on to this game. Final note on the game itself, it is a LOCAL Co-Op/single player game, however me and my friend used Teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com a free screen sharer, that's easy to use) and we played the game as if we were both in the same room.

;-; #forever alone #Screw that I don't want people in my house.

Overall yeah you should get this game if you can nab it on sale or if you can get it in a bundle, I can personally only recommend playing this with a friend, so be sure to grab 2 (or a DRM free copy)
.... not saying that there are any maybe in the humble bundle...

So now the standard game rating:
  • Story: 10/10 (Enjoyable, Fun, Ridiculous, everything a good sit-down-and-play game should be)
  • Gameplay: 3/10 (I can't give good marks here for a game that uses only U/D/L/R/Enter, but it passes by my personal standards.)
  • Presentation: 9/10 (The game has a nice art style and feel about it.)
  • Soundtrack: 7/10 (I'M SORRY WHAT WAS THAT?! I had to turn mine down to 4% just to hear my friend, no in game slider, and doesnt save sound settings after closing. Other than that it's fine, fitting music.)
  • Replayability: 10/10 (I'm just waiting for that free content DLC that was mentioned in a thread somewhere, that or I'll go and download someone elses.)

The Yawhg has excellent writing, interesting mechanics, an incredibly low barrier to entry, and the art is gorgeous!

This title really shines with multiple players and despite technically only featuring local coop, it works nicely over live stream or any video conference software with screen share. Each playthrough will be short but multiple playthroughs are rewarding because there is actually a lot to see here. There are unexpected interactions and numerous choices to make that really do change the outcome. The Yawhg very much encourages the players to see what happens instead of simply trying to win by making the correct decisions. Playing the game is creating the story, which might not be for everyone, but there is a lot here to play with here!

This is a good game, and a great party game if you have 2 or more players (best with 4) There are a lot of people who play "The Yawhg" a few times through and say that it is pretty monotonous. My statement to them is that they are probably monotonous in their play style. If you play this game trying to maximize your character, it turns into a boring game quickly. This is a game for adventurousness and sometimes crazy play styles will actually make a much more successful and interesting ending. Those who played the game through 3 times are judging a game almost by the tutorial. You need to play quite a few times to see some of the interesting random occurances play out that make the game really fun.

Wanted this game for a while, finally got it.
I found the game to be fun, but I wish it had more to it. It is very short, but it has replayability which is a plus. I got a bit over an hour of fun from it, and will probably play it a bit more later. If you like "choose your own adventure" games, and dont mind the game being very short, you should give it a try :)

Short, but with many different choices to explore, as well as the ability for friends to participate. The art is fun, and the story events are creative. The Climax is a bit underwhelming. Ends well, though.

Not much else to say. It's a "Choose-Your-Own" Adventure (with nice illustrations). There is no test of skill, you just interact with a plot, and watch it react. Which it does well.

I give it 2 Chains out of 50 Cent.

It's a nice game; the art is pretty, the soundtrack is pleasant, and the story is amusing. My only complain is that it is too short.

I recommend this game, but not without some reservations. It is a really neat project, but in its current form is really more of a proof of concept than a fully fleshed-out game. It it super short and lacks the depth that this format could offer. Definitely do not buy it unless it is deeply discounted, or you will probably be resentful.

Also, be sure you play it with a friend. Playing this game in single player is like doing mad libs by yourself. It's just not nearly as fun or as funny as when you do it with someone else.

If you need something with local multiplayer that non-gamers can enjoy, this story based-choose your adventure game is great. It is as entertaining as it is approachable. The only criticism I have is that after a dozen or so play throughs you will have likely seen every scenario, and thus the game loses its luster quickly.

This is a fun short game with HUGE replay value. Ive played it 4 times now to try and see different endings and different events and to see what event choice works out better. If you like turn based games where you really have to think and make well thought out choices this game is for you. Everything has a consiquence in this game and it can make or break the ending you will recieve. I still havent good a 'happy' ending but you bettter believe ill keep trying! I got this game when it was 50% off as id heard the youtuber prescriptionpixel talk about how good this game was and it was easily worth every cent of those $5. Whether this worth $10 i think comes down to what types of games you enjoy. Like I said you will get a lot of replyability out of this game but you may not like to play it that many times. But i do highley recomend it!
The artwork and music is also amazing, I need to find the song for the title screen its beautiful.

The Yawhg is a seemingly quick game with not much to do on the surface, but first glances of this game would be wrong.

With a wonderful aesthetic, beautiful music and images, and a strong if loose narrative, The Yawhg is a beautiful and refreshing game you can pick up for 10-20 minutes at a time.

The characters do not have much of a personality on their own, instead you sort of put your own will upon them and their options and events open to them change depending on their stats and previous choices. Saying that, you can end up with vastly different characterizations even using the same two people over and over again. The game supports up to 4 characters working in the world at once, and can in fact even be treated as a hotseat multiplayer game.

The choices and tasks you do in the game have deep and lasting effects, completely changing which avenues are open to you while keeping all avenues of adventure open. The Yawhg presents a rich and satisfying game, beautiful in looks and story. Filled with melancholy and whimsy the Yawhg is suitable for anyone looking for a good time.

The kind of tainted fairy-tale spectacle The Yawhg promotes sadly fades all too soon, despite the whimsically strong writing and the playful art that often hints at a slightly darker edge. For all its subtle melancholy and inventive storytelling, there’s only a small window of time when all these things mesh together to create something special. After that, it’s more about rediscovery and rehashing in the futile hopes that relevance can be found by combining the old and worn.

A very interesting and fun game with MANY endings. Some can only result when random things happen at certain times. It's fun to see what your actions lead to.

The Yawhg is more of a choose-your-own visual novel than a game - Designed for four players, the game excels most in having a mood and a feeling. The visuals are quaint and a little cutesy, as is the music which stands as its own thing. The gameplay is incredibly simple, just having you choose where to go on a map, and what activity to do there. You're then ushered through an event which results in a decision which will affect the stats your character builds, and over the few turns your character will grow and be left with a final choice.

The Yawhg never feels disappointing or like you've failed to experience a story, despite its very short playthrough length. It leaves you with a good ending that is based on what you did in the the days before the return of The Yawhg.

On the whole I would recommend this to people who are interested in that kind of concept - Tabletop RPG players who might have a quick playthrough with a couple of friends. It feels more tabletop than it does videogame.

Pretty fun, interesting and unique way of storytelling. You can finish the game in about 10 minutes, but the replay factor is huge since you will never make the same path twice.

...But it's not worth 10 bucks, you should get it on sale or bundle.
