Telling stories around a campfire might seem antiquated, but The Yawhg replaces both the fire and the stories with its own tales of a civilization on the brink of the collapse. You and three friends take roles in the town just a week before ensured destruction. Attend a ball, clean a hospital, or even fight crime. The Yawhg presents imminent danger and allows you to forge a healthy backstory and stat sheet in only a few days. The real treasure is seeing how these actions affect your friends or the town itself. Once the town is overcome with darkness, it's up to you and your friends to triumph or despair with your experiences.

It's a superb bit of storytelling.

The Yawhg is a great story-telling game with a interesting plot, especially for first time players who have no clue as to what the Yawhg is. The game is quite replayble due its multiplul possible endings, based on your decisions, If you enjoy "choose your own adventure" games, then this is definetley for you.

Supprisingly more interesting than I thought it would be when I got it on humble bundle. It is very simple in gameplay and style, but it leaves me wanting to play more and succesfully finish the game.

Here's how the game works. The Yawhg is a storm that comes in 6 weeks from the start. You are given choices on where to spend a week of time before the Yawhg comes. The characters don't know that it is coming, but you do. In order to survive or rebuild you need to train the characters according to the needs of the town after the Yawhg. It definitely has replayabitiy.

There are many ways for this game to end. You chooose the fate of the town with the Yawhg approaching. Thats what makes it such a great game. The yawhg is a very fun game to play alone or with friends as you determine your role in the society of your hometown and how you will prepare for the evil Yahwg!

I love how this game takes experiencing a story to a grand level. I wish there were more titles that utilized it's gameplay. Waiting a spiritual successor.

Wow!
First of all the music in this game and the artwork is just spectacular.
I started to play it by myself first and the game is a very introvert experience framed in by the sad but beautiful music. The game is also fun to play with friends, each deciding what to do with their own character. I loved it, to bad its a bit short but what a beautiful and fun ride it is.

I got this game via Humble Bundle and I am pleasently surprised by it. The art is delightful and the music is a perfect match for both the storytelling and the art.

If you play it once you might end up thinking that it's an OK game fun, short and even a bit surprising, but if you play it a second time you'll find out that there is a lot to discover and that your decisions don't always have the same outcomes and that they might ruin or save the day. Unexpectedly addictive.

An entertaining narrative, loses it's charm after a few plays unless you bring new friends to play with you. (It's fun to watch them react to the scenarios.) The art direction is great too, very charming.

First: This game is an RPG, but those wanting a massive RPG that requires 30+ hours running around exploring detailed maps while grinding for levels and hunting for the next plot advancement probably won't be satisfied with "The Yawhg." That's not to say this isn't a good game; it is simply a different type of RPG. This is a short, stat-building, choice based game resulting in multiple outcomes for each charater. Also, the better the outcome of the character or characters (you can play 2-4) the more likely the town will survive after the devestation you know is coming.

The game is only a few rounds, so if you're playing with only one character it is very short, and it can still be beated in under an hour even if you choose to play with (the maximum) four characters. That being said, it has great replay value since it's delightful to go through the game a few more times to find other options and different results stemming from alternate decisions made during your training -- not to mention the final outcomes for characters, which change based off of your choices leading into the end of the game.

Finally, it's worth noting several sitautions and character endings are delightfully grim, which made me happy.

I recommend it, and will toss it to my friends, but I admit I didn't break down to buy it until it was on sale since it is a shorter game and I'm a cheap, horrible person sometimes.

While my recommendation is to not get this game I had a fun time with it and it is pretty well made for what it is. the reason I can't recommend it is the price. I purchased it as part of a humble bundle so I got a few games to make the cost not as big of a deal, but I would have been utterly enraged had I bought it at full price. it just isn't worth that, but if you can get it as part of a bundle or at a very steep discount then I would get it.

now ith that out of the way onto the game, as it stand it is fairly intresting pick upto four characters then guide their weekly activities until their town is destroyed each activity has an event play out at the end of the week and it is random ( to an extent) what that event is. This is not a bad basis for a gameand in theroy it should have a lot of replay value, but he game lasts only seven rounds. the game lasts about five minutes, per completion. because it is so short you can use up the replayablility in the first hour easily, and that is really the big reason I find the full price outrageous. that said what little there is is fun the art is nice and the music is competent. If you like choose your own adventure stories you will probabl get a kick of of this game, but wait to get it on sale or as part of a bundle.

Wonderful game with seemingly endless possible outcomes. It's a perfect game my friends and I enjoy when we're together and one player's choices can effect a situation for another player. The music is great and the I really enjoy the art style. It doesn't take too long to finish a session of gameplay, which makes it an enjoyable "party game" without it having to drag on for too long.

There are also very suttle references within the game itself that make it all the more amusing. I definately recommend giving this a try with friends.
