A weak thumbs up.

Pros
- Neat aesthetic and idea.
- Decent length.
- There are three extra ways to solve levels: Elegant (solve with only one object), Old School (solve without pins), Awesome (you manually mark one of your solutions as Awesome...)
- Can quickly reset levels. Helpful when going for Elegant / Old School solutions

Cons
- The ability to mark solutions as Awesome is good, but forcing people to do it to earn the star is stupid.
- The physics don't always make much sense. Even after playing for hours I'm often surprised by how an object reacts. It will have more/less mass than I expect.
- I wish there was some way to Undo things. It's annoying to have to redraw/redo several things after you mess up drawing a single thing.
-- The game sometimes has trouble distinguishing between when you want to draw a pin vs. a small object.
- Too many puzzles have essentially the same solution.
- Game fails to launch on a retina MacBook Pro if you've set your system resolution to 1920x1200. I had to switch back to the default resolution to get the game to launch.

Sit back, relax, and draw with some crayons. Get the little red ball to touch all the stars and you’ll finish the level. Crayon Physics Deluxe from Petri Purho is a simple game in premise, and you’ll immediately understand how to play it from the first level.

Each level is a different drawing from a child’s imagination. Simply push the red ball into the star in whatever way you can manage. Your main method of control is to draw objects into the world using your mouse. While the game is quite fun early on, it quickly becomes devilishly difficult.

Your drawings will start off simple enough: make a box to drop on the ball to knock if forward, draw a line to build a bridge across a gap. However, soon you will need to aim the ball through small holes, or make it climb up an uneven surface with enough momentum to crest a peak and fall back down at just the right speed to fly into the star. Trying to do some of these tasks is almost absurd, but finally figuring out a way (or accidentally swiping the star unexpectedly) is a moment full of joy. The game has seven worlds and one bonus level once you collect 120 stars (out of 150 total), and there are a lot of interesting puzzles to solve.

The soundtrack is a small handful of relaxing lullabies, which mesh nicely with the visuals, and contrast strongly with the amount of mental anguish you will be going through. When objects hit each other, there is a satisfying “thump” and then the ball goes flying off the screen, crap dang it all that work wasted.
The visuals are entirely unique in gaming, and everything really does look like crayons drawn on paper. The different items like trees, boats, houses, and dinosaurs are cute and fun to discover. The resolution only goes up to 1024x768, so it tends to look a little fuzzy on large HD screens.

In order to “master” each level, you need to find an elegant solution (only one item drawn) and an old-school solution (no pushing the ball, no extra pins drawn), and also specify one of your solutions as an Awesome solution. Once you do that, you will get a bonus star for that level. Annoyingly, you will have to manually select an awesome solution for each and every level in order to get that star. This is a tedious process that keeps you out of the puzzles for far too long.

This game is quite a brain-burner, and it will either give you a few hours of fun or days of frustration; depending on your approach to it. Luckily it is quite easy to skip levels, and go somewhere else for a while. A lazy Sunday afternoon is a perfect time to spend with some crayons and lovely puzzles.

Open-ended gameplay allows for creative, memorable moments. The puzzles are pretty dang hard sometimes, too. Will make you nostalgic for old days, and then nostalgic again when you see what you drew on the overworld ages ago. A nice game.

This isn't a bad game, but it isn't worth the pricetag. Fortunately I got this game as part of a Humble Bundle and didn't pay the $20 the game is currently listed at on Steam. It's a simple sandbox puzzle game which can be fun, but it doesn't have enough depth to be worth the $20 pricetag. Save your money and skip this one.

I'd recommend it on sale, not sure about that $20 price tag, but it's a great game where the solutions to the puzzles are the things you yourself draw... can literally be anything, so it's a fun casual physics puzzle game.

Good game. Soothing and at a lot of times hilariously unexpected. Then after about an hour the challenge starts to work its way up. You go from making bridges and boxes to golf clubs. A lot of it is trial and error. Some of it is luck. There is no given way to complete each challenge.

Some of the challenges get good, but not frustrating. In hindsight though this is one of those games that you play.... but don't return to and that's not a good thing for a $20 game. There's nothing compelling me to return. This game is good if you're a creative person or just like drawing with a mouse.

This one works a little better on a touch screen than with a mouse, but still works great on a computer. The gimmick with Crayon Physics Deluxe really threw me off.
Do anything. Like literally draw whatever the hell you want and see if it works. Go crazy.
Here's a ball. Here's a star. The ball has a crush on the star. Get them together.
Also, forget straight lines. Use your crayons, crazy colors, go outside the lines.
If you enjoy structure and knowing the limits of your games, this isn't going to work for you.
If you love puzzle games and wish you could get in a quick few stages before nap time, this one's for you.

Each level has one goal: to guide an object from point A to point B. The fun comes from experimenting, coming up with different solutions and seeing your contraptions take on a life of their own. It can be hard to draw certain shapes, and sometimes the physics seem to bug out. Although I laughed the hardest when my scribbles reached critical mass and started twitching wildly and flinging pieces all over the place.

This game never fails to put a smile on my face.

Crayon Physics Deluxe is pretty easy, I'll admit. But this game is elegant in its simplicity -- get the red ball to the star, and draw with coloured crayons to get it there. The music is pretty relaxing, and in general the game isn't very fast-paced. A great game to play when you're stressed or annoyed.
The real fun is when over-the-top solutions work, or when a simple but crude solution works right off the bat.

That said, the game's physics engine isn't perfect. I've had it freak out a few times while playing, mostly from jamming too many objects in one space. But when it freaks out, it does so in spectacular ways, which is a plus.

Overall, this game is fun and relaxing, but $20 ($22 CDN) isn't worth it. If the game is on sale though, it's worth a buy.

This was one of the very earliest "physics drawing" games to come out, and I'm sure many others were inspired by it.

Nowadays its strict 1024x768 resolution is unfortunate, but don't let that keep you from getting it.

Simple gameplay that rewards experimentation, as you draw shapes over and over to try and fulfill the objective.

You can find this on mobile devices (iPad I think?) and I guess it makes more sense to play it there.

I definitely recommend this, lots of fun and a game anyone can play regardless of age or gaming experience.

While it's certainly the most comprehensive crayon simulator on the market, unfortunately since the technology doesn't yet exist to enable us to eat the crayons it pales in comparison to the real thing. The $19.99 price tag might seem steep at first, however in the long run you'll end up saving time and money as unlike the real thing these crayons don't run out and you'll no longer have to organise trips to resupply. Anybody who considers themself a hardcore crayon enthusiast you should definitely give this one a go.

Crayon Physics is a sandbox where you draw objects and have the physics engine move them around. The game aspect of it is that there are levels where you need to get a ball to touch the stars in a level.

As a game, Crayon Physics fails on most levels. It's far too easy, and the same solutions work on most of the puzzles, making it very repetitive. The music and sound is very basic. "Winning" Crayon Physics is as boring as it is pointless.

As a physics sandbox, it's too basic for my tastes. I'm sure there are cool things you can do, but they would take far too much effort to do with the limited toolbox you're given. (Why can't we make motors? I'd love that. Or at least make the ropes actually work.) Or maybe I'm missing something... the tutorial is amazingly bad.

If you want to draw cool stuff and watch it go, then sure, pick up Crayon Physics. I'll spend the time playing games instead. Either way, do not spend $20 on this... wait until it's on sale.

A wonderful game with an artistic design that looks simple yet outstanding to see.

"editor note" I actually have over 5 hours in this game, but since it was all in offline mode it was not recorded.

Pros
+ Very calming and soothing music that suits this type of game.
+ A huge selection of well-designed levels that gets tougher as you move on.
+ Beautiful artwork and world design, you draw your solution to success something I really admire.
+ Puzzles have a lot of ways to solve and they depend on your imagination, create objects, think and enjoy.
+ Level editor, to create your own levels, imagine it and make it happen.

Cons
- To get all stars at each level you need to play it multiply times, first win being the first star, elegent solution = 2nd star, old school solution = 3rd star, both solutions have certain requirements, like number of moves ..etc, and it gets a bit boring later on to keep
repeating levels to get the stars.
- The awesome solution is somehow a good idea but we'll all just cheat and say we got an awesome solution just to get the last star in the level " you just check the box to get it".
- Game runs at a 1024x768 resolution, which was ok by me, but if you have a much larger monitor you might not like it that much, I don't know for sure.

Rating 7/10 Very fun game to play if you're into this type of puzzle game that refreshes your creativity and imagination then this is for you, However the price-tag is holy sh*t.

Having used countless crayons in years past, I was immediately taken aback to my paste eating, pencil chewing days as a youth within my winding self discovery era most know as the kindergarten. The nostalgia is almost too strong as you draw your way through puzzles, much as we do through life. A fine substitute for MS Paint, 5/5 stars.
