Overall Game
Indie RPG game that is re-playable and I would recommend to buy it in packs. You start off with a character that as you level you can customize it.

[Gear]
You can buy all sorts of equipment's like head gear, weapons (you can have 2 guns and a melee) which give extra perks to your character besides alter the look. You may carry 2 guns, 1 is your main and have a secondary which you can swap in the middle of fights and have separate ammo. A melee weapon which can be a knife, chainsaw, plasma cutter, wrench and more. They have no upgrades and have a base melee damage locked.

Weapons (guns) have upgrades of their own, levels which you can make it more useful like increasing percentage of damage which you can upgrade with money and "chips"

[Currency]
There are 2 forms of currency in the game, 1 coins and another is chips which u can only get through Boxes. These boxes are drops after killing enemies.

Boxes when opened can give you either coins, chips, XP or 1up. 1up is a Life that can be used when you die on a map to come back into the game in the same place you died otherwise you can quit (lose all the boxes only) or restart.

[Skills]
As you level you also gain Skill Points, in game you have a tree of skills that you can put points into and gain extra character perks for your overall character abilities. This may increase your ability to use your weapons more effectively and armor can complement these perks. The tree has 3 main directions you can focus on but ultimately you can have all of them upgraded but keep in mind 1st tier or row must be all upgraded before you can then move to the next row. Specialist, Solider and Medic are the paths you can take.

[Upgrades+Skills]
To make the most of your character abilities the main thing to keep in mind is that you can have your characters (gear) complement your (weapons) Skills can add to these strengths. An example is..

Gear- Carbon Armor (base no upgrades)
Shield +5
Shotgun/spread gun damage +7%
weapon fire rate 3%

PLUS
Gear- Cowboy Hat
Shotgun/Spread gun damage 3%
Weapon Reload Speed +5%

PLUS
Gear- Carbon Pads
Shotgun/Spread gun damage 3%
Weapon Fire Rate +1%

PLUS
Sunglasses
Experience Gain +2% (can be increased to max 15%)

Total
Shotgun/Spread gun damage 13% (Starting base damage)
Weapon Fire Rate 4% (Starting Base)
Weapon Fire Rate +1% (Starting Base)

Complement it with Skills found in specialist but this is just an example in how you can combine your equipment to increase the most out of your weapons. You can swap the sunglasses instead of experience you can get
Hockey Mask which gives u health +5
Melee weapon damage +5%
More fun with your melee weapon which if you finish an enemy off with it you can EXTRA Xp.

What I like MOST about the game

[Music]
The music.. I found myself lost in the game play. The game play is awesome and the music just complements it so well you just seem to let time pass you by. I never found myself wanting to buy the sound track of a game until now!

Online play. The game has a decent amount of players playing this online on multiplayer which make each level a bit more challenging and rewarding. You seem to get more enemies which in result is more XP and Box drops. You can simply start a level and NOT lock the room by not making it password locked. This would allow random "pugs" to join you on your level and assist you in completing the level.

Things that need some work
Server Connection can be irritating, you dc at the start of the game quit a few times before you can finally establish a secure connection to the server when you are playing ONLINE. Single player there are no issues of connectivity but this game is even sweeter when you play online.

Side Note: It is worth full price and comes with cards. If you aim to get 100% achievement for it play it online it is must faster and easier.

Update: The achivement "Rage" is bugged but on 1.7.15 the developer replied on the forums he will be working on fixing this bug. We hope to see this fixed soon so I can work on this last achievement.

Excellent top down shooter that actually rewards skill play and not just grinding to get better gear and improvements for it though there is that as well. Having a lot of fun with this game and the way it can throw some really deadly combinations at you that basically can one hit kill you if you make a mistake or react to slow to the challenge at hand.

Check it out, it's well worth it's retail price if you are a genre fan. Even has online multiplayer for up to 4 players which I haven't even tried yet.

I really enjoyed this game , the levels are randomly generated so even if you get stuck on one its not the same everytime. There are not a ton of weapons and armor and the single player is short. Best part of the game is the music.

Pros:
Fun to play
Random Levels Gen
controls well with Keyboard
Great game

Cons:
Short single player
Not a ton of options on weapons, once you find the combo you like it gets a little broken.
Got into the game late so not many online to play

Great game to pick up on steam sale

Meltdown is a top down arena shooter game (or something along those lines), it's fun, has (maybe) "infinite" character evolutio and lots of upgrades on equipment.

Cons:
- other people's bad connection can affect your game;
- stupid deaths happen somewhat often;

Pros:
- randomly generated levels';
- nice variety of weapons and upgrades;
- "infinite" character evolution;
- good variety of enemies;
- challenging but fun;
- it's fun and quite replayable;
- has "coming soon" stuff;
- nice music;
- skill/technique based;

A pretty fun isometric style shooter, with heaps of weapons and gear to upgrade. Multiplayer is fun also, if your a fan of shooter then pick this one up. Some people might not like the dubbstep soundtrack that the game has, but i think it suits it well.

Now I don't always aim to fully complete games... But for this game how could I say now?... I first purchased this back in the time of Early Access... After trying to get used to the controls with my keypad I taught there was some issues... This game reminds me a lot like LOADED from PS ONE ... As it runs on Linux I decided to try boot it up and try the controller again, after a while I finally realised how stupid I was and mapped the controls... Having not played much during the Early Access I started playing, and playing and playing... Although it is a repetitive game it still is awesome... This is one game (the other being South Park) which I will aim to 100% get the achievments, even though usually I don't care to much about that on PC but I am enjoying this game so much I think I may as well go for it... I rarely play any games on the computer anymore and with this game I just want to keep playing and levelling up... If you don't own this game right now and like games such as LOADED and top down shooters I highly recomment picking this one up... Even the pricetag is cheap, I just hope some DLC is added also... Score - 8.5/10

Overiview: Isometric shooter

The Good:

+ Kill lots of enemies and upgrade you character and weapons

+ Plenty of weapons/armor/accessories to fit your play style, each piece of equipment is upgradable

+Wave attack mode is the funniest mode the game offers.

+ Good controls

+ The music is phenomenal and is probably the highlight of the game

The Bad:

-The game is built around grinding, if you want to get any of the achievements you will be grinding areas over and over again. What if you don't care about achievements? Then the game will offer no more than 30 minutes to an hour of enjoyment because there really isn't a whole lot to do in the game

-You have to replay areas over and over again because in order to upgrade and unlock weapons you need coins, something that takes a while to collect. There are accessories to help collect coins faster but that still doesn't make up for the fact that it takes a while to collect enough coins to buy upgrades and buy the weapons you want. It seems like such an artificial hurdle to pad the game length for no reason.

- As you kill enemies you gain xp to upgrade your character. You have a total of 55 levels and it becomes incredibly easy to upgrade your character, One online wave attack mode with a few people and you can easily level up 10-15 times depending on how far you get or how many people are playing. Because you can max out every skill, you don't have to make any difficult choices on how you develop your character.

-The game offers 30 levels and they all look and play the same. Every level is linear and you simply kill enemies until you reach the end. Rinse and Repeat. As I said earlier, wave attack mode is the only fun thing in the game.

-The game froze on me one too many times.

Conclusion

The core of the game is solid, it controls really well and it has a lot of solid ideas, the problem is the developers didn't really build a game around those ideas. The upgrade/character development is horribly balanced and with some rebalancing and improvements I can see this game being a lot better. This game is an ios port and it shows and is a perfect example of what works well on one platform may not work well on others. As it stands, I cannot recommend this game, there just isn't enough content to justify a purchase.

I had never heard of this game before getting it, so it came as some surprise to find just how fun a shooter it is. The game is fairly straightforward in an arcade fashion, and as such is pretty repetitive. However, I've found the best part of the game is the "wave mission" where you get enemies in waves and see how long you can last (though 1ups feel a bit like cheating in that spirit). I feel this probably works best in a quick pick-up game fashion. So far the two biggest gripes I have are on standard missions you can get unfair mechanics such as a sniper spawning in front of you and a rocket launcher behind you so you're pretty much dead, and that the game seems to freeze and stop responding when I try to quit to desktop.

So, if you're looking for a simple, fun shooter I would recommend the game. Depth and story are not present, so if you need those this isn't your game.

Great game! I feel like this could be a sleeper hit. I'm really shocked that more people aren't playing this, for the price the game has a some great value.

Visuals are solid, online is solid, game play is fun, and the price is right. All that with 4 man drop in/out co-op online, or 4 man local co-op!

Amazing isometric shooter. You will not be disappointed.

You are nameless commando guy, your goal: destroy a sea of droids and reach the exit elevator. Where this game really shines is it's customization and music. You collect money and chips which you use to buy and upgrade weapons, armour and accessories. There is a good of each and they really allow for a lot of different playstyles. The music is perfect and keeps you pumped. The gameplay is repetitive but really fun and addicting. Enemies are challenging and can kill you quick if your not prepared so killing them stays satisfying, even when your grinding for that next item. The level design keeps things fresh by featuring wave attacks, boss battles and mini bosses. There’s also a really fluid cover system that a lot of triple A games could learn from.

The bad: All the levels look pretty similar. The game is relatively short, you can complete all the levels and get a max level character in under 5 hours - but, there is a lot of replayability so that helps. Online multiplayer is poorly done: no chat, random annoying people dropping in your game and no way to kick them, difficult to play with friends or make friends to play with - but, the devs are working on this and local co op is the shiznittlebambizzle. The skills are useful but don't allow customization on higher levels because you'll max out everything.

The good far outweighs the bad and the devs are still updating it so it will only get better.
Check this game out, it's an indie gem.

Since I'm one (broken) achievement shy of completing this game, I figured that I might as well review it.

This is an isometric shooter. It is composed of thirty stages along with wave-attack, level-attack, and deathmatch modes. You blast robots with a variety of unlockable and upgradeable weapons, and level up to acquire numerous abilities. This game supports up to four players locally or online.

Well..that was an exciting +1 to my review count wasn't it?

What?
Not good enough?
Sheesh. Alright then.

Meltdown is the kinda game you play, when you want to free your mind of pesky questions such as: "What should I wear to work tomorrow?" and "Should I go to work tomorrow?" and even "Will I get fired because I didn't show up for work today?" It's addictive, and there are enough hooks in place to keep you on the hamster wheel for quite awhile.

The enemy robots are decently varied, and it's important to adopt a play-style that suits your loadout. Sure you could commando your way through everything with rockets and grenades, but extended fire-fights will require that you take cover. Expect to do a lot of rolling as well. Equipment introduces other variables such as bonuses to specific weapons, better shields/HP, or speedier movement. It's not totally in-depth, but that's probably why I appreciate it. You get an idea of what works and what doesn't immediately.

The stages are standard fare, with a few boss-fights, arenas, and shielded walls to mix things up. It's a bit on the padded side, but they go by pretty quickly. It can get frustrating sometimes with cheap enemy spawns. There have been more than a couple occasions, where two shotgun-bots spawned next to me and immediately fired. Also the last couple stages are a slog, because of all the freakin' snipers. That could be on me though for using underpowered weapons.

Everything is better with a partner and this game is no different. It's rare to see online co-op so well-implemented. It's almost as good as if you were playing an arcade machine and somebody walked up next to you to join in. Joining an online game is very fast and smooth, and connection drops are fairly rare (even with my overpriced crapfest Roadrunner internet). Admittedly, most of my co-op time was spent in wave-attack (easiest to grind for exp/money/upgrade-chips). Running the regular stages with partners tends to make them a bit too easy. There is damage-scaling depending on how many people are playing, but it's not nearly enough due to the overwhelming weapons, knockdown effects that keep robots inactive, and so on. Plus, even if you die you can just use a 1up to get right back in the fight(unlike arcade games, these aren't rare at all).

So there it is, a more fleshed-out review of the perfectly serviceable Meltdown. Play it until you unlock everything, play it until you get bored, but give it a shot. I think it's decent enough, even if it's a bit too safe.

For a potential sequel I'd suggest:

-Higher enemy counts (especially in co-op)
-More varied builds (Classes? Maybe hand out some unique abilities)
-Limit the number of available lives
-Better stage variety (Plenty of classic arcade shooters to pull ideas from)

Personal Rating: A bit boring on the long run
Classic Rating: 7/10

Ok, this game is not bad at all but i would recommend buying it on sale, especially if you're going to play SP only. Here's why:

in spite of a nice look and feel (which doesn't hurts), gameplay can get a bit boring on the long run because you have to play the same early missions several times - if you want to buy items and skills needed to advance, unlocking the next level - and because of the same setting in almost every level: there are just too few modifications that it's hard to distinguish one level from the other... (apart from enemies and bosses).

EDIT: Actually, after defeating the Barrager i see some changes in the map, so i'll adjust my Classing Rating accordingly from 6.5 to 7.

EDIT: Now that they added Arcade Local Coop the game is way more funny.

Despite being a mobile port it works surprisingly well, although it does have some serious flaws. The aim is off on the X plane of fire, meaning that if you fire left or right you are going to miss high or low, respectively. You can adjust when you get used to it but it can still be a problem in heavy fights. Enemy pop-in is a bad problem. I can be going through a level and doing fine, then all of a sudden two machine gunners pop up on both sides of me and no matter what gear or weapons you are using, if two machine gunners pop up close to you like that, it's game over. Any enemies spawning in on top of you like that creates a real problem in any game. Some weapons are worthless, like the flame and shotgun weapons. You will never be able to get close enough to use them without dying. You will never progress in the normal missions unless you do a lot of grinding in the wave attack mode. It seems like now though I am at lvl 50 the wave attack does not give enough exp so I have to play the regular missions and pray to God that I don't get random pop-ins on top of me during them. The wave attack + wearing the extra coin drop hat is also the only way you can get enough coins and upgrade chips to afford new weapons, upgrades, and armor. There are weapon upgrades that are also worthless but you don't know until you find out with some trial and error. The upgrade for the machine gun that gives you ammo regen is basically a requirement because without it, you will run out of ammo quickly during a level and ammo drops are rare and even when they drop only give you a few bullets. This means that you basically can't pick the upgrade next to the ammo regen unless you want to see that problem. So if that is the case, why even offer another skill?

The graphics are well done, the sound is good, the music is great dubstep, the gameplay is smooth, and the story is pretty much non-existent, just like I like it. I get quite enough story in my rpg's and books I read, I don't need it in my action games. I play action games because they are simple and I want to just blow people away. I don't want a bunch of cut scenes or text in my action games. This game is just straight up fighting.

7/10 pretty fun, although the problems I mentioned really should be addressed but obviously never will.

It's a fun short simple mobile shooter. The environment isn't varied at all but there are a lot of different types of enemies.

The progression is quite off the wall. It's very easy to gain levels, it's very hard to earn money. You will need to grind to buy weapons. During the levels you collect mystery boxes which you open up at the end. They either contain nothing or exp or chips (to upgrade) or lives. There is no other way to obtain lives which means if you want to do hard levels, you will have to do simple levels over and over again for the chance to maybe get good lives.

The grind is somewhat mitigated somewhat because you can very easily play online with other people.

Yes, as some of the negative reviews have noted, the game is fairly repetitive and the "randomly generated levels" all look about the same, but it's also very polished and a lot of fun. Everything looks lovely and runs smoothly, and levelling is engaging enough that I'll come back to it. Keep it to short sessions when you need some good, simple action, and you'll be pleased with the purchase.
