Patch 2.3 Now Live!

Patch 2.3
Just a minor update only 1 day after Patch 2.2 went out. Updating the version was necessary to prevent cross build desyncs due to the war salamander pathfinding fix.

Bug Fixes
Amphibious units can now traverse terrains properly once again.
The game will no longer spontaneously pause due to breakpoints existing in some AI scripts.
Desync tracking system will now generate logs when you play scenarios.
You cannot enable the desync tracking system in quickmatch (settings are ignored).

We're still looking into some data fixes that went into Patch 2.0 Hotfix #3 that got lost when Patch 2.1 was introduced. For example, the AI won't cross Yellow River.

We are also aware there is a refresh issue in the lobby browser. This isn't something that was changed, so we believe there is a problem on the Valve side, but we are investigating this. Some people have posted information that if you change the dropdown from ping to something else and back again, it'll recover quicker.

The new game expansion (Tale of the Dragon) is awesome! I bought the game only because of this expansion, and I assure you, it worth every penny.

Writing long reviews is boring, this game isn't. If you like any strategy games or ancient mythology you will like this. I've been playing it since I was a little kid.

This game is sooo good the dlc is worth the extra $10 (Or $5 if you buy the bundle), controls are really simple, the campaign is great, online is fun and if you find freinds to play you will be playing for hours (10 out of 10) The bundle is worth it if you plan on playing for a very long time (TBH i would wait for a summer sale or a winter sale because it is way more cheaper than $35 normal)

To be totally honest, I like it less than the other Age of Empire Series games, but still it is fun and worth your money. It is something different, it's fun and I kept playing it for hours!

Always been an all time favorite for me. For me its the staple RTS game. It doenst do anything outlandishly crazy but also doesnt dissapoint if you're just trying to have a pleasant RTS experiance. The campaigns have good stories that definitely haven't been tacked on.

Age of Mythology: Extended Edition is a good example of a poorly made cash grab.
The Extended tag probably mean the new bugs Skylab managed to produce, that didn't exist in the original.

The AI pathfinding is messed up. Units will often phase through the walls and villagers often get stuck in larger buildings (Temple, Wonder, Titan Gate) they have finished building.

The changes to the graphics are highly questionable. The new textures are washed out, so it's highly recommended to revert them to something that looks closer to the original (EG: Epic textures mod). Otherwise you will have a hard time finding your units, as they blend into the environment too well.

Last but not least the netcode. Oh, boy! If you thought Age of Empires 2 HD's netcode was bad, then you have no idea what this game has in store for you. The online matches are insane lagfests, often freezing up for seconds, rendering the game unplayable.

Bottom line is that this version of the game is a mess. Skip it, you're not missing out much!

This game was one of my firsts. I grew up sitting in front of our old desktop with my brother beside me spamming cheats and crushing the Egyptians. 10 years later me and my brother are on opposite sides of the planet and still we are able to come together and crush the Egyptians (without cheats mind you ;P). this game has vastly improved and its so refreshing to see a 10 year+ old game get a remaster and even new content in the form of DLC.

TL:DR
Amazing Game. Cheats are fun.

10/10 would lazer bear my way to victory again.

AoM: Extended Edition is certainly in my top 3 favorite games.

I have the Titans expansion with the original game on disc but it is not compatible with newer computers, I am very happy to see that it is on Steam, with multiplayer! There are also new add-ons that aren't in the original besides multiplayer, which includes being able to choose Chinese gods or even Titans!

I really love this game.

love this game
a bit sad that they try to push the expansion pack down your throat...
improved graphics are barely an improvement in my opinion.

Still recommend this as it provides a possibility to play online again.
also +1 on no titans
