Another year, another halloween... and some added features

Hi everyone,

It's that time of the year again. Halloween is upon us and our zombies are becoming unrestul. Well, they're always unrestful I guess :-) We opened our scavenger hunt back up again for those who missed their chance last year. Happy hunting.

We also added two often requested features into the game:

  • You are now able to create your own fertilizer through the new compost object
  • The sprinklers and turrets now show you a preview of the area they affect

We hope you like these additions. Especially the compost really expands upon the endless game mode :-)

Have a great halloween everyone
Anny and Oliver

“There’s something for everyone in this game, whether you enjoy the farming, diner, or tower-defense genre. As such, “Farm for your Life” is the type of game that I’d be hard-pressed not to recommend.”

About This Game

Your community was taken down by a heavy storm which caused an apocalypse and unleashed the living dead. Together with the other survivors, it is your task to rebuild and to allow that sustainable life can still be assured. Cultivate your farm and manage your restaurant to provide food and deal with all the zombies.

It’s a strange Time Management Game. The light-hearted style of a casual game collides with elements, which are usually only seen in horror genres. Discover the contrast, which takes both genres for a wild ride.

Key Features

  • Combining elements from farming, tower defense and time-management genres
  • Set up and cultivate your farm with a lot of different fruits, vegetables and animals
  • Build, manage and upgrade your own restaurant and provide the others with a wide variety of dishes
  • Protect your farm by building mazes and towers. Our zombies are vicious vegetarians!
  • Design your own character
  • Get stuck in an unbloody, fruity survival-feeling
  • Story mode provides 5-6hours of gameplay
  • Peaceful mode for dedicated farmers
  • Original soundtrack

Kinda cute, exactly what you'd expect from the preview video. Really quite well balanced to the point where you never have a free moment.

Unfortunately like most of these games the lack of randomised maps really hurts it's replay value, add to that the tedious (and sadly unavoidable) process of farming wood and some glaring bugs (two people in the kitchen basically broke the game) and there's no reason to go back.

But still, it was less than £2 on sale and was a nice way to while away a couple of train journies.

It's surprising to me how entertaining and relaxing this game is. At first glance it looks like nothing special but i quickly realized the amount of care that was put into this game. Althought very short, the game has lots of replay value, like most games with farming as a theme.

And would you believe it? The game keeps getting and update every now and again. (as in, every couple months or years) Which may sound infrequent, but considering the dev team is 2 people that develop the game in their spare time, the game is finished (no early access bull****) and the amount of bugs is very small anyways.

Graphically, the game looks cartoony and childish, despite being the zombie theme there are no elements of horror or gore in it, that is not to say that the game can't give you a bit of a startle when scavanging in the forest. Those familiar with Harvest Moon will feel confortable with graphics in here.

The music while it's good and relaxing there are only a couple tracks which will wear off quickly. And, this is personal opinion, but the music gives me the vibe of christian music, idk, it sounds to me like something i would expect to hear on a church.

All in all, for 5 bucks you won't get it better than this... I got 33+ hours of relaxing gameplay with it's goofy moments every now and then.

Sometimes it's nice to take a break from the norm and play a simple game. I found farm for your life very relaxing and enjoyable. Story mode is around 7-9 hours of quality gameplay.

It was fun while it lasted. I got this for $4.99 and I say it is worth the money. The campaign was fun yet simple (in a good way) it got a little tiresome near the end but the experiance was fun eitherway.

I like it.
It has some issues: Sometimes my guests share a seat. I currently have a fifth person telling me to build her a tent.
I've gotten bored with the endless mode quicker than I expected. The biggest difference between this and my favorite farming games is that this one doesn't have changing seasons. Maybe in the sequel?
