Tower of Guns is a fast paced first-person-shooter for the twitch gamer... with a few randomized elements to keep it fresh with each playthrough. It's a short burst "Lunch Break FPS"... not unlike Binding of Isaac mixed with Doom 2. Tower of Guns was made by a guy named Joe (with his brother Mike composing the music).

ToG 1.3 Released!

Hey folks! I know it's been a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time, and for the most part I've moved on to new projects, but I did want to post another update of ToG for all you guys! Unfortunately, this update is Windows Only.

This update includes:

  • A lot of small bugfixes (collision fixes, some art fixes, etc)
  • Fixed an issue with MamaSpinbot going...bonkers..forever..
  • Fixed an issue with the player getting trapped in the Tog-o-Drome forever and being forced to live out their lives in a digital prison of sadness. Let us raise a glass in honor of those lost souls still trapped there now, who are beyond the help of this patch.
  • Tuned drop rates some of old guns, but the change was done months ago and I forgot to notate exactly what in my notes because I'm pro.
  • Added some new game modes for you all!
  • Added a few new guns (mostly accessible from game modes, but also some of them are in the normal drop lists as well)
Thanks so much for your continued support, folks! I hope you like the update! :-)

About This Game

Tower of Guns is a fast paced first-person-shooter for the twitch gamer... with a few randomized elements to keep it fresh with each playthrough. It's a short burst "Lunch Break FPS"... not unlike Binding of Isaac mixed with Doom 2. Tower of Guns was made by a guy named Joe (with his brother Mike composing the music).

Key Features

  • SINGLE SITTING FULL EXPERIENCE: For all of those who have too many games (or too little time) this is a game you can pick up and play again and again, without remembering where you were or what you were up to. If you're gonna win, you're gonna do it within an hour or two. That's a big if though... it won't be easy.
  • ALWAYS A FRESH EXPERIENCE: Random enemies, random powerups, random bosses, tons of unlockable items and weapons...even random-level compositing! You never know what to expect when you sit down in front of Tower of Guns.
  • CRAZY POWERUPS: You've played first person shooters where you can double jump, but have you played any game where you can centuple-jump? You can in Tower of Guns, with the right items.
  • GUN-MODIFYING MADNESS: Do you like rocket launchers? You'll like them more if you're lucky enough to stumble upon a "shotgun" modifier. A rocket-launching shotgun is very satisfying. Mix and match your gun with a dozen different Gun Mods!
  • OLD-SCHOOL TACTICS: For the fans of the faster shooters, it's all back. Circle strafe your way to glory at insane speeds; Tower of Guns is all about moving fast!

Take your standard first-person shooter. Combine it with rogue-like elements and bullet-hell elements, and you have Tower of Guns. Randomly-generated levels means that no two playthroughs are alike (even if it does, enemy placement is also randomized). Different challenges to unlock perks and weapons encourage repeated playthroughs, and because the level and enemy placement is randomized, you need to learn to adapt to the environment. You'll find yourself constantly dodging cannons, spike balls and buzzsaws. And being a rogue-like, it gets more difficult the further you progress, and if you die, you're starting over. If you like FPS games, rogue-likes and/or bullet-hell games, check this game out.

Closest I've played to a first person bullet hell. Nothing is too fast and on the occasion when you think it's all moving too slow, you eat a bullet that's been traveling towards you for the last 10 seconds.. Movement is fluid and very intuitive. Jumping is floaty and enjoyable. Guns are varied and get pretty awesome. Level design is imaginative with no obstacle being too difficult while still making for engaging platforming and exploration. Enemies make the game here though. The range of projectiles being fired at you from mostly stationary targets is really impressive.

Okay I finally won the game, this game is ridiculously fun, to the point where my friends will come in to my room, sit down and watch me for entire runs which can last anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours depending on how much of a lemon I am :P This game is crazy fun, I don't remember how much I paid for it, but regardless of the cost it was worth it :)
