Perfect for that casual puzzle fix, but lacks significant staying power

+ Puzzles are intuitive in a way that requires no tutorial or hand-holding; mechanics are fully understood in perhaps 2 minutes or less
+ Initial advancement feels rewarding in a simplistic, fulfilling manner
+ Sound effects assigned to moving the puzzle along are enjoyable, and string together in a pleasingly melodic fashion
+ Puzzles of each set build consistently in difficulty, keeping one solidly hooked every step of the way
+ Daunting quantity of puzzles to run through
+ Daily puzzles that offer one an occasion to return
+ Unlockable palettes that serve to mix up the stale colors a bit

- Novelty eventually gives way to tedium if trying to blitz through much at once; save for puzzle fanatics, this game may be best in smaller bites, as it quickly stops introducing new mechanics

Once upon a time, there were three friends who were called Diamond, Square and Triangle. They lived in their palette world filled with multicells, quite contempt but lonely. One day they discovered they had identical partners who wanted to meet them. The three friends ran across to join them, but never against one another because of their trusted bonds of friendship. They decided to dance working together in unison via a melodic vec-flow pattern to illustrate their happiness. Unbeknownst to them, they were simply puppets to a 'Hacker' trying to solve the alphabetic password to access the 'LYNE’ files.

Brain melter! - 10/10

Introduction:
LYNE is a game for people, who love to use their brain even in the spare time. It's perfectly suited for everyone, who wants to play just some minutes or long sessions up to 2 hours. Your task is simple. Connect the two main knots for each color and all knots of the color on the way between both. All knots have to be used. You're not allowed to cross lines or to use the same way, you've already used before. Sounds simple, right? But it can become very challenging, if you have to deal with several colors and neutral knots, which have to be used multiple times. Your brain can really melt in longer sessions and you should seriously stop, if you're starting to see lines, where they aren't supposed to be.

The game has 2 game modes: chapter mode (26 chapters (A-Z) with 25 levels per chapter) and daily challenges (3 chapters with 25 levels per chapter), which will be random generated every day.

Friendly advice: If you're not able to solve a specific level in 20 minutes, then give it a rest, do something else instead and pick it up later again. You will see it with a fresh view and maybe solve it in 10-30 seconds, at least this was my experience.

Pro:
  • easy to learn
  • 650 levels (26 chapters with 25 levels per chapter)
  • 3 random generated daily challenges every day with 25 levels per challenge
  • very easy up to extremely challenging levels
  • very high replayability
  • extremely addicting
  • unlockable color themes for some visual variation
  • easy undo function
  • no time limit
  • price

Contra:
  • the audio effects don't vary that much and can become annoying in longer game sessions

Conclusion:
Excellent game for a good brain workout. It's very cheap, addicting, easy to learn, offers difficulty levels in form of different chapters for everyone and has a very high replayability. If you love to use your brain, then LYNE will be perfect for you. Not recommendable for stones. Absolutely recommendable for everyone with a working human brain.

10/10 - would draw another line anytime

A visually pleasing simplistic puzzle game that rewards you with achievements that you can use to spell things out on your profile with! Although puzzles may seem easy at first, the truth is it really gets challenging once you progress further into the game. Yes difficulty is debatable but it really was quite challenging in my opinion! If you find yourself stuck on a puzzle, the community has generously created a cheat sheet that will allow you to finish the game in no time! Haha, but try to play the game without any "Guides" first, then once you start flippin out over a specific stage, cheat away! Overall an enjoyable, calming (most of the time), beautiful game.

Never before has the line drawing game genre had such a giant in the field. I imagine that if you could somehow go back in time and show LYNE to the ancient cavemen on their primitive stone tablets, that they would hardly believe what they were seeing. They would probably club you to death and burn your body as a sacrifice to the sun god or something, but hey, what do those crazy cavemen know.

Fast forward to today, where we can play LYNE without being beaten to death, mostly, and the awe and wonder this game exudes are no less than they were in the hypothetical caveman days. Let us take a look at what has made LYNE the number one line connecting game released on March 17th, 2014.

Shapes. We all love shapes, and LYNE delivers several of the greatest shapes known to man. Square? Got it. Triangle? Bam! Octagon? You know it! But there is more to LYNE than that. You have to draw lines between the shapes! Draw the lines the way they want you to and you get to move on to the next level; fail, and your life is an empty meaningless shell. It really is perfection, a grim balance between glory and abject failure, a balancing act so delicate that one false move could send you spiralling into a vortex of existential dread so severe you would need thirteen Kierkegaards to bring you back. Also, LYNE is great for kids. Teaches them things and such.

A connect the dots style game with some color mechanics and intersections. A very simple concept that gets increasingly difficult. Some puzzles will leave you rearranging your entire layout over and over again, making you frustrated, however the mellow music will put you back on the ground and leave you wanting more.

Been bundled a few times, definitely worth a pick up at its full $3 price if you enjoy puzzle games.

Basic and tedious but the achievements being the alphabet make it somewhat justified. Looking at it from a gameplay point of view it's an extremely poor puzzle game and I wouldn't even download it for free if the achievements weren't so fitting for someone who likes their steam profile to look good. Thumbs up just because I'll have use for the achievements on my profile and don't want to be part of the 3% who put thumbs down.

Very Nice Puzzle

This game deserves the 'relaxing' tag. It's very casual puzzle game. Forming the lynes, oh I mean 'lines', and connecting the dots can be enjoyable. Game is wonderful, isn't it?

Simple to understand, harder to solve. If you like relaxing but challenging puzzle games with many levels (from A to Z + daily levels), you should definitely try out this one.

This game is excellent.

It has an extremely simple concept, just connect the dots. However, it gets much more difficult than it sounds.
LYNE has a good amount of content for the price, 26 sets(A-Z) with 25 puzzles each, plus 2 sets of 25 puzzles each daily.

It is quite relaxing to play, but can also be quite the brain workout, and it's well worth the $3 price, I'd recommend picking it up.

ALSO THE MAIN REASON MOST PEOPLE BUY THIS GAME, THE ACHIEVMENT ICONS ARE LETTERS A-Z, MEANING YOU CAN SPELL OUT WHATEVER YOU WANT IN YOUR AHIEVMENT SHOWCASE!
