Character creation isn't the best, it's not bad just kind of weird. Normally you'd have a slider from left to right, most of these have 4 directions for each body part (eyes, ears, mouth, etc...). You can't choose different types of ears, eyes or mouths and then modify them with sliders, you're stuck with the default and change them with the 4 sliders. The things you can select aren't very many. I think only 5 or so facial styles and about 4-5 hairstyles. No body style that I saw (fat, skinny, muscled). Pretty poor.
Even with graphics set to Ultra the models don't look too great, especially noticable in the ears. Lots of weird looking textures, some of the clothes look like they have scanlines and others are just blurry. Not a huge deal since you probably wont look at them from up close. Environments look good though, very colorful and pretty.
Animations are great for the skills so if you like flashy stuff this might keep you interested in the game. Some other animations are not so great but most of them are very good.
Tutorial is complete garbage, they really need to streamline all of the information they give you. It's not voiced or anything so you have to sift through all of the text to try and find relevant information and figure out what the hell they're trying to say with all the weird terms and names. There is autorouting for quests but it seems pretty terrible so far, the character just zig zags to the location for no apparent reason.
Everything is very confusing, there isn't any good feedback to what you're doing in the tutorial. You're just clicking things they tell you and nothing visibly occurs so you have no idea what you just did or what the purpose of it was.
Font choice is very poor, at 1280x720 it looks like the tops of letters are cut off (the bottom of the letters are cut off in the skill book too). The font is too thick for the dialogue, some letters are almost joined together. It makes reading very annoying sometimes.
The whole "Meridian" system seems very interesting and it looks like it has a lot of depth so there is potential there. I still have no idea what exactly their purpose is yet but it just seems like it might be a bunch of passives that level up as you progress. You can activate and deactivate them. They are accupuncture points or something and it seems like you can deactivate each point in a Meridian(?), there are about 5-6 points in each one. Why you would do that, again, not sure. The game never says.
There looks to be a lot to the game it's just explained very very poorly and I think that will put off a lot of people from playing or even giving it a chance.
Luckily the combat tutorial was pretty good, there's sort of a paper, rock, scissors type of system with all the skills so I'm assuming if two people use them at the same time the stronger one will interrupt the other person. The game never really said anything about it aside from flashing up a picture with arrows pointing from one type of skill to the other.
Currently, I don't think I'd recommend the game. It's a fairly large download (6gb or so) and for how poorly things are explained you may just end up wasting your time entirely. I will play for a while longer and if it turns out to be great I will change this to recommended. It definitely seems like an "old" style MMO where you're going to have REALLY boring quests and lots of grind as well, so we'll see.
