Balance changes and fixes

Hello marines,

like we said, we started introducing balance changes to the game, small steps to improve the experience and bring some classes back to the game.

Also we found a number of potential problems that could've caused desync in the game and those have been solved.

Patch log is here:

- you can use skills on players in UI ingame now
- removed a lot more potential desync issues in both character and monsters and some objects
- placed turrets by player have 700 more health, to make them harder to kill by holers

- prestige button visibility solved
- did a potential fix on how all underground units handle unburrowing(should reduce desync)

- reduced Sargon underground damage to 20 per second
- Residental spawn rate has been reduced by 50%
- immortals have more and 20% more resistances to piercing damage type
- Seismic resonators will now prevent revival even if placed AFTER the creature has been killed(works for all monsters that have revival options)
- increased mrit health to 6000 base
- mrit has 85% chance to revive
1. resonator reduces chance by 20% for that revive
2. killed by energy reduces chance by 10% for that revive
3. designate reduces chance by 20% for that revive(stackable with 1 or 2)

- crit chance base chance reduced from 15% to 10%
- designate cooldown reduced from 30 to 15 seconds
- self destruct damage increased to 60000, and it will do minimal of 50% damage at the edge

No significant updates since early access and all of a sudden it's released. Steer clear of this one.

I can only review this from the standpoint of somebody just looking for some pick-up and play fun and sadly it did not provide that.

I'm sure if you absolutely live for top-down space shooters like this then it will be for you but personally I would say this game isn't in the same league as something like the fantastic Alien Swarm (which is free!).

Single Player only: This could have been a lot more fun. The visuals, sound and story (such as they are) are fun. Pre-mission equipment/loadouit screen are involved enough without being too complicated.

But this game was ruined for me by terrible level/mission design. Think you've seen difficulty peaks/troughs? No. No you haven't. Might be your thing, it isn't mine.

Multi-player? The "community" is too small for this to be reliable fun.

Playing @ lvl1 is about as much fun as watching paint dry.
As the newbie, you are the slowest, that's why you die first and then you get to sit and watch for the rest of the "game".

You also need a lot of pre-knowledge about every single piece of equipment, because if you take your time to read the description desperately trying to find out how to use obscure explosive item #352 you are already dead.

Despite all that crap, you are a masochist and like to tear down walls by bashing your head against it?
Get ready for 25 levels of grind.
Plus another 10 levels of grind per class.

Just find a game, get killed and let the "game" run in the background.
It's the best screensaver you have ever bought.

Things wrong with Red Solstice:

1. poor mob AI
2. Weak player dynamics and limited map expansion
3. 1 bland and boring map, no RNG or map rotation
4. no gear or loot farming
5. Ethically challenged developers who may or may not have rigged their 1 tournament.

1 thru 4 is pretty standard for an indie team. I can forgive that, but compound 5 on the first 4, and we have a wasted potential.

Go to Squad, or go to Serious Sam if you really want to support Croatia's IT industry. Nothing good came of this labor of love, and after all the goodwill that went into Red Solstice's kickstarter that is the real tragedy.

This game is intensely teamwork based it makes for an incredible challege its very fun to play if you like a game with complex learning curves. Groups need a good leader to get anywhere outside of recruit. Me and a group of 12 friends have slowly been playing more of this to get to the point where we could consistently beat a normal game on the easiest map. We love the learning curve. Buy if you love a game you wont win on easy for the first several games

Some of the best game time I've spent ever. Successor to WC3 and SC2 mod maps (NOTD), played some of those but find this to be more enjoyable and "easier". Learning Curve is still pretty steep though but once you've sussed out the maps and the wave timings and with a good group the gameplay is nice. Higher difficulties need communication via voice (anyone who says otherwise has probably never succeeded in playing harder difficulties) - so join the Official TS server (join.ts4gamer.com).

The community is small, and yes, fairly exclusive but anyone who is willing to learn is more than welcomed into the "fold" so don't let the vets scare you. We're all just gunning for game wins :)
Looking forward to TRS2!!!

The Red Solstice to me is still the most intense and thrilling co-op survival game ever created. Awesome game!

The community Teamspeak 3 server at join.ts4gamer.com makes it much easier to find regulars/friends to form up to beat higher difficulties and various game modes for maximum challenge.
