Slip into the role of Daniel Hanson, commander of the first mission to a remote planet called Meridian. Assured of the fact that the planet is uninhabited, the unexpected reception of a distress call from the surface could mean many things, none of which you are prepared for.

“One Guy Shouldn’t Be Able To Make Meridian: New World”
Rock, Paper, Shotgun

“Upon first look, Meridian seems to rival – at least, visually – the most high profile of triple-A RTS games on the market, and it was only crafted in two years. Take note, Blizzard.”
Gamerant

“With units allowed to equip items, a leveling system for you the commander, and a new emphasis on storytelling, Meridian may just be the evolution of the RTS genre”

About This Game

An accomplished, old-school, indie, futuristic Sci-fi RTS with RPG elements!!

Play as Daniel Hanson, commander of the first expedition to planet Meridian and uncover the dark secrets it holds! Shape the world around you with every decision you make and through every dialogue with your crew. Meridian: New World offers countless options to devise your own strategy, including various equipment options for your units and special abilities for you to rely upon. Use your abilities anywhere on the battlefield and turn the tide of battle by weakening the enemy troops. Alternatively take the covert approach and sabotage the enemy power supply to shut down their production. You can rely entirely on researching superior weapons or special abilities. Or you can risk building a large economy, constructing a massive army from your enormous resources. The strategy you use and how many troops you sacrifice to reach your goal will influence the attitude of your crew towards you. Are you ready to shape the history of galactic colonization?

Brought to you as the brainchild of Ede Tarsoly - the sole man behind Elder Games - Meridian: New World was mostly received with disbelief and awe at the fact that it's a one-man production. While it remains true that Ede is the source of every detail of the game, some assets were created by his friends Balázs Bodnár, Tamás Gyermán and Gábor Menyhárt, who are credited with their contribution.

Compared to other RTS games, there isn't really a reason to play Meridian: New World. However, if you aren't the competitive type and are just looking for a small and simple single player RTS to play, Meridian: New world would be something to look into.

Meridian: New World is an exceptional RTS full of potential, and puts a fun spin on the old school RTS formula by adding new and innovative features more commonly associated with the world of RPGs.

There's a reason this game is 12 dollars. If you're bored it's worth a shot.

Game is still unpolished and the level design feels rushed.

The "stealth" mission at the beginning is more frustrating than fun and the turret defense is a snooze-fest.

The creators should of stayed away from the alternate "game-mode" type missions - at least as unpolished as they are.

Not that impressed - even for a low-price game like this.

It's a bit schizophrenic: It wants to be Command and Conquer- but unit hard caps means it prevents the massive battles that defined command and conquer. It's campaign draws a lotta inspiration from Starcraft II, but lacks gameplay mechanic polish that defined SC2.

Early Access Review
Oh goodness where do I begin with this game? At first I was a bit worried that another indie RTS was being pushed out on Steam as, well I know I can speak for most of the people looking at this game, we've been burnt out and screwed over by developers that spend a whopping two months and call it a game then charge an arm and a leg... Well let me be the first one to tell you that this isn't one of those games at all!

Dear lord if you want edge of your seat gameplay, better than normal base building, an interesting campaign with hopes for the future, and units that are wonderfully designed and almost perfectly customizable this game is for you! Campaign plops you down in an interesting mix of a colonization story gone wrong. I won't spoil anything but goodness that's one fine story I'm still crawling through. Loading times? Forget about em! This game has none and in the places where it does have them it's a whole whopping two second wait at the most (might be a little longer for some older computer rigs; not sure but it won't take you long!)

Things that really stick out for this game in my opinion? Probably the graphics and music. You can see the screenshots and while I was skeptical at first that they were just glorified photoshopped images I can gladly say that is not the case at all. The game is literally that beautiful and the music that plays just bolsters the overwhelming beauty of this game. If you have the money for it I would gladly tell you to buy this one! You will not be upset with your purchase at all.

Believe you/me friend, I'm tired of getting the short end of the stick because I love RTS games and will stand by this game as long as it continues to be worked on. Thanks Dark for rekindling my trust in indie RTS games.
