Update Report - 2.10

Hello gamers!

We’ve finally done it! A big update for you to enjoy, with many new features and improvements. This update also marks another important step:


That’s right, Final Rush is no longer early access. Now would be a great time to get your friends into the game, as there’s a big %33 discount available just for the launch! We’re also running a charity promotion where %100 of the profits for the month of November will be given to Operation Underground Railroad. ( )

We’ve also launched several dedicated servers for the new version of the game, which should allow some people to enjoy playing Final Rush multiplayer. There’s only a few servers at the moment, but if it proves popular, we’ll add a few more.

v2.10 Changelog:

  • NEW – Menu Section: COMBAT PROFILE, which is the hub for many new features:
  • NEW – ARMOR CUSTOMIZATION, now the rank and credits you could earn before have a purpose; you can buy and customize your character’s armor. There’s several sets, each made up of different components which you can swap.
  • NEW – SKILL SELECTION, now you can permanently buy new skills and abilities for your character; giving them damage resistance, grenade regeneration, health restoration fields, bullet penetration, store discounts and more!
  • NEW – WEAPON CUSTOMIZATION, now you can customize the four primary weapons with upgraded visuals and features, including new materials, barrels, scopes, and more. These mods have massive gameplay effects and gives your gun the punch it needs to take down the swarms of enemies.
  • NEW – STAT TRACKING, the combat profile now has a section for stat tracking, listing some interesting information about your gameplay habits. Some of this information was already recorded behind the scenes for achievement tracking, so if you’re a veteran player, don’t expect a blank slate.
  • NEW – COMBAT MARK TRACKING, all of those combat marks that appear on the left side of the screen? Yeah, we’ve been keeping count of those too. Now you get a nice screen that displays the total number of each mark you’ve earned. Cool stuff!
  • NEW FEATURE – Player Classes; each class has their own skills and starting weapon. Changed the spawn weapon select to be the spawn class select.
  • NEW LEVEL – Core, a large, vertically oriented map. This map is dominated by a massive reactor which periodically enters a cool down state, venting steam into the room.
  • NEW ENEMY – Taser Robot, this jerk will make you easy prey for other robots If you get too close. See if you can shoot him while he’s zapping you, and earn a reward!
  • NEW ENEMY – Super Charge Robot, this robot is very dangerous, he will buff nearby enemies, and super charge them when he's killed. You’re going to need to use tactics unless you want to be swarmed by a bunch of super charged robo-goons.
  • NEW WEAPON – Pulse Lobber, this experimental weapon launches explosive energy grenades.
  • NEW ACHIEVEMENTS – 8 New Achievements for you to unlock!
  • NEW –TIP MESSAGES for new players which pop up with useful information. These can be disabled in options menu.
  • OVERHAULED – New SHOOTING sounds for all the military weapons; they should feel more powerful and entertaining to use.
  • OVERHAULED – New ROBOT DEATH sounds and effects. Killing robots should now be more reactive and enjoyable.
  • OVERHAULED – New ROBOT HIT/SHOT sounds and effects. Shooting robots should now be more reactive, readable and enjoyable.
  • OVERHAULED – Updated Cargo, Mercury Switch, and Serial with updated graphics to match Frost and the new Core level.
  • OVERHAULED – Improved the Game Over screen to better reflect the end of the game.
  • OVERHAULED – Improved Intensity (The thing that gives you rush rewards, and makes the robots spawn faster) It’s now damage based, and recalibrated, making it easier/possible to earn rewards.
  • Weapon Selection wheel at the bottom of the HUD now disappears when not in use; making the screen less cluttered.
  • Reduced ammo station cost by 500 points.
  • Ammo Stations will now restore grenades to 1, if at 0.
  • Fixed a bug where the Crazy Robot would have strange blood colors.
  • Gave Crazy Robots red body lights to make them more obvious.
  • Decreased Crazy Robot Health by %20.
  • Improved Ranger Robot gun laser effects.
  • Ranger will delay firing if shot by player, giving skilled players a chance to kill them without taking damage.
  • Rangers no longer shoot through other robots.
  • Fixed the Heavy bot taunting with regular robot voice.
  • The Heavy now has lights and glow which represent his health. No more blindly waiting for him to die while shooting at him.
  • Tweaked the Heavies health to feel more reasonable.
  • Tweaked the way the icon appears above the remaining robots, so it isn't as obstructive.
  • Raised the icons for support stations.
  • Added a screen message for last life.
  • Crosshairs now have a critical shot state when aiming at robot heads.
  • Weapon Select now appears after death animation to make things easier to view.
  • Main Store now properly plays its closing animation.
  • Store items are now listed as red when the player cannot afford them.
  • Added a screen bob when landing from jumps and falls. (Increased bob strength with distance)
  • Added falling damage. (because you can now fall pretty far on Core)
  • Added spawn invincibility for 5 seconds, with 10 seconds of Taser invincibility to prevent the robots from spawn camping you.
  • MkII Weapon cost decreased by ~%25.
  • All shotgun damage increased by %15.
  • Made the Military Battle Rifle a single shot weapon.
  • Sprint Speed increased by %15.
  • Sprint Duration decreased by %20.
  • Sprint recharges faster, after a shorter delay.
  • Decreased all weapon ammunition, due to new perks.
  • Significant improvement to HP ammo visuals; elements of the gun now glow red hot when HP ammo is active.
  • HP Ammo now slows down enemies more, and does more damage.
  • Added scopes to the corporate weapons to make them more useful and less ugly.
  • Corporate weapons are now Tertiary Weapons (meaning they don't replace your new customized primary weapon. They now use the same slot as the experimental weapons)
  • Corporate Carbine has been made into a slower firing, single shot heavy rifle. (Pretty much the exact opposite of a carbine, even though it’s still called a carbine.)
  • Added Brawler Melee Function. (More weapon damage shortly after melee attack, and more melee damage shortly after being shot)
  • Improved Melee Gamefeel. (New sounds and effects)
  • Increased robot slowdown when shoot.
  • Grenades now drop straight to the ground after hitting an enemy; making it easier to plant grenades at the feet of enemies.
  • New Robot decapitation effect. Robot heads now pop off more enjoyably.
  • Improved explosive barrel and grenade explosion effects.
  • Made explosive barrels a bit more obvious, so you can remember to use them more often.
  • Many game code optimizations and tiny bug fixes to help offset the new effects. Game should be a bit smoother and lot less buggy.
  • Probably a handful of other small tweaks and changes that we forgot to record.
Once again, the people here at Strike Games want to take this opportunity to thank all of you that supported the game during our tenure in Greenlight and Early Access. Without your support none of this would be possible! It’s a bit of a cliché line, but it really is true.

Situation Report - 13

Hello gamers!

It’s been a while since the last update, and it will still be a little while longer until the next update, so I wanted to give you a quick heads-up about what’s going on with the game:

Final Rush is going to be transitioning out of Early Access with the next major update to the game. You may have guessed due to the long lead time on this latest update… it’s going to be a big one!

For starters, Cargo, Serial, and Mercury Switch have all been updated visually to bring them in line with the graphical improvements made on the new Frost level… but that’s small potatoes compared to what else is coming.

The next major update is going to bring a host of game feel updates, ranging from improved feedback when shooting robots, to new death sounds, improved grenade functionality and more. Several balance functions requested by the community have been added as well.

You’re also going to see another addition to the main menu: The COMBAT PROFILE. This is a central location where you’ll be able to have access to several new features, including armor customization, and stat tracking (Both of which will be in the new update.)

There is also a possibility (but not a guarantee) of both Skill and Weapon customization. Armor, Skill, and Weapon customization will be strongly integrated into the recently added Rank system; and your currently earned progress will contribute to the new features.

It’s also important to note, that while we’re adding stat tracking and several new stats; we’ve been tracking kills all along, so the kills stat will show you exactly how many robots you’ve blasted since the v2.0 overhaul.

There might even be a new enemy making an appearance soon…

The new update should be launching in a week or two.

This is the current feature set of Final Rush:

Steam keeps wanting me to post a review of a game that I helped make. It feels like voting for yourself in an election.

If you thought I was going to say something witty, then you've got another thing POTATO.

As for the game itself, there's shooting robots; and more shooting robots. In a good way. Don't expect plot, don't expect story, just expect lots of fun times blasting hundreds of robots to smithereens. (<- that's a funny word isn't it?)

Kill robots get points, buy better guns, kill bigger robots. Win the match, get experience points, unlock rank-ups, customize your gear and your skills, and come back for more robot killing. Simple. Casual. Fun.

NOTE: This is for v2.08. I will try to update my review as more updates come out.

Rating at the moment: 8/10
Final Rush is a Sci-fi FPS game, which at the moment, only has Co-op and singleplayer. The game mode at the moment, Rush, has you and up to 3 teammates battling 10 waves of robots. It's like Killing Floor and COD: Zombies. As the rounds progress, you are met with an increasing amount of difficulty and diversity of robots. At the moment, there are 9 weapons to choose from, 8 upgrades, and 4 different levels. The weapons options and upgrades are good. Types of robots and types of weapons and upgrades
EDIT: The guides are a little out-of-date, but it's the only guides there are and they have most of it covered.

- Settings?: Here's screenshots of them:
Resolution goes from 320 x 200 to your screen's resolution. Anisotropic Filtering goes from 2X to 16X. Anti Aliasing goes from FXAA0 to FXAA3
You can change them.
For purchasing game before price drop.

- Visuals?: Visually, this game looks amazing.

- Bugs?: There are thankfully not much bugs. I've only seen around 3.

- Singleplayer?: You are able to play by yourself, but so far the only thing to do is play Rush.

- Multiplayer?: At the moment, multiplayer servers aren't going well. There are some dedicated servers, but they are not official, we are lucky to have someone who can make them (which they tell you how to, but I was unsuccessful). When I do play with people, it is quite fun, with the game play and Co-op combined, it was really fun and a little easier. They are working on official servers.

- Gameplay?: The game is fun at times, but it is very difficult. EDIT: There are now difficulty options! You will get surrounded by robots at times, which can get a little annoying. I've only beaten 1 level, as the increasing amounts of robots can be too much. The bright side however, is that if you beat all 4 levels, then you must be quite good at this game. There is only 4 levels however, which can be a little boring, but they have promised more in the future(uploaded a 4th one on 8/27/2014). This is, Early Access, after all. They do have jumping now, but no crouching and ADS isn't the best. With weapons, the crossfire is always there, even when you aim in. It doesn't look the best. EDIT: They have now improved the ADS and have removed the crossfire always being there. ADS is looking better and quite good right now.

- Replayable?: although somewhat repeatable, the addition of achievements, trading cards, and more have made this game more fun replayable (if that's a word).

- Developers?: I'm very happy to say that the developers have delivered this update, and it is looking wonderful. There have been more updates and they continue to deliver what they promised they would. With more graphic options and improved visuals. I like the Path of Development so far, and I do wish them luck. They are active in the forums and they do respond to peoples problems. Sometimes, their response is even funny.

- What is Needed?:
  • More content (guns, upgrades, levels, etc.)
  • Dedicated servers
  • More players
  • The ability to crouch
  • An improved scoreboard
  • Voting system
  • Increase in amount of players allowed in each game (4 right now)
  • # of robots determined by players

- Verdict?: The game is actually quite fun. There is a lack of content and multiplayer could be improved, but they will do that in the future. I recommend getting this game now, unless if you aren't a big fan of Early Access. If none of your friends play, convince them too or just ask people in discussions to play or ask me. People will be eager to play and I hope it will work out for you.

Who doesn't love shooting some robots!
The game is entertaining and has its moments =D, its even more fun with friends.

You start off with a decision to make, what gun do you want to use to kill the robots? Once you have made your decision, you are thrown into the battlefield to fend off the horde of robots who have only one objective. Annihilate you!.

You got one job, one job soldier. Survive! The robots don't make it easy but nothing is too difficult for a seasoned veteran.

As you endelessly murder the robots, the powers that be give you points that you can use to buy upgrades for your soldier. More ammo, more shield, damage resistance, better guns and lots of other stuff.

Game is in Early Access and has huge potential for improvement and make the game stand apart from its current generation FPS games.

Developers have been active on the forum and they listen to our feedback!

Would play again and again. 10/10.

Its not to bad at the moment for a Early access game. Finding it very challenging though lol. Think this would be totally awesome if it ever went proper multiplayer and kill with other random players. Graphics are nice but i do agree with a few others that the maps do feel a little cluttered and you can get stuck very easily and then cornered by the enemys and thats it your dead because a invisable wall will not let you jump over a pipe or something silly like that. Think it has great potential and could imagine it being great fun playing with a mate. At the moment id give it a 7/10

Okay so to start i think this is an amazing game with many great features and would reccomned purchasing it. Yet there are some problems as to be expected in an early access game i will go over some of the good and the bad.

First off the good.
-easy pick up and play it was a game that within seconds i knew what i was doing and i love that
-No babying its one of those games that (as of yet) have a tutorial which i love because it doesn't need one its simple yet great
-It's pretty
-Star Wars the robots said roger roger often which instantly made me think of the droids in stars which was a nice touch

Now for the problem in which i noticed in my short time of play
- A slight spawn issue i was dying alot just because i died in a round respawned and the bots beat me to a pulp quickly

My play time is quite short as of now but i really enjoyed this game and thought i would write a review but as i play more and the devs update i feel like it improve and if i notice any more problems (which i hope i dont) i will update

-increase movement speed forward by 10% (running speed is okay)
-Backward speed just as fast as forward speed(without running)
-make enemies about 15% faster
-Maps are a little Deja vu(need more variety,just boxes and stuff everywhere,needs more colour)
-Shooting noises are way to low
-Little more intense music
What im trying to say is it needs to be more fast paced(it would fit great)
Other than that its a great game, looking forward to improvements :)

Finally a solid release (July 3rd, 2014) for Final Rush. It is missing a crouch ability, which doesn`t feel quite right, but a real game is here. A game in the vein of Killing Floor. First (real) version that is properly representative of what it aspires to be. KF folk should give it a look.

It's a decent horde mode game. The devs really do seem to care about delivering a quality game and taking the extra time to polish and improve things as seen with the huge v2 update that was recently released.

It's not ground-breaking or unique, but it's cheap and it's fun for what it is. You'd probably get bored if you played this all the time, but it's great for an occasional play.

- 4 very small and not so original maps
- apparently no damage localization for higher efficiency
- expensive weapons, so you'll stick with the 3 first weapons
- frustrating weapons, they don't feel powerful, slow reload, no zoom on sniper rifle
- no experience or perks or classes
- online play is dead
- has potential here with good graphics, it's kinda ok, but yet again, maps are too small

Final Rush is a very bad copy of Killing Floor's gameplay. The goal is to survive through timed waves that spawn robots and getting points to spend in a shop that appears between two waves. There you can buy weapons and upgrades only.To buy ammo or health, go find the two automated distributors that are elsewhere on the map so you have to choose what to go for, because despite the futuristic environment, you can't carry stuff to heal you on the way...
The story is set in a highly advanced technological future, and robots got corrupted. That's all we know, seems a bit lacking of context here.
Maps are small, only 4 of them, and so many choke points you can't use for yourself because you'll get swarmed with robots in no time. No welder to seal doors and taking a stand, absolutely no strategy here. Only way to survive is to continuously run around the (small) map and gather a horde behind you until the clock goes zero, then shoot them all. But beware of the map itself : you can jump, but can't jump above a tiny obstacle to flee the horde, which will bash you to death.
There is only 3 weapons to begin with, and an infinite ammo pistol (and bashing that merely damage bots or push them away...). Aim is tedious because of a very high recoil that screw your aim after each shot. Weapons don't feel powerfull as it can't one-shot a basic bot in the head. Oh, there is grenades too, but they'll bounce a weird way and blast radius is so ridiculous (maybe 1-2 meters), unless they badly bounce back at your face and kill you. It's safer to throw rocks and it might do more harm to those bots.
Tried the online game too, no server below 130 ping, all empty...
It seems there is an xp counter, but no profile page yet to see if there is perks to unlock, so there's no point to grind highly difficult waves of uninteresting robots for peanuts.

So it's an early access game, but it is still very unpolished in the current state. Even at 10€, get Killing Floor instead, or wait for KF2.

While this is early access, I feel like this game has been in development long enough to make a few issues unexcusable. For instance, unless you go into the files in the games folder, you cannot change the key bindings. You can "change" them in the menu, but they are not saved and instantly revert the second you leave the menu. It looks good, but from the limited playing I've done in single player, the gameplay is boring compared to Killing Floor or other similar games. I got this game in an Indie Gala bundle, and I recommend waiting for another bundle or a large sale before buying this if you still are interested. All the good reviews on this game are from months ago talking about how promising this game is, and I'm from the future telling you is hasn't progressed very far.

Definetely not worth the money I spent. The game has good potential (more like minigame, really), but it's barely being worked on, if that. The graphics are fantastic, but something within the game makes the game very unstable making it likely to crash and overall lag. All you do is shoot robots like you would in a Call of Duty Zombies match and spend in-game money on weapons and weapon upgrades. There is no story nor other gameplay options, and is worth at most $5.00 USD just for the good graphics. Even then, the animations are quite unfinished and need working on. If the creators of this game decide to start updating the game more often or at all, then I'd recommend keeping a watch on the game to see if it becomes worth playing, then you can purchase it if you wish.

Have you ever fancied yourself as Will Smith in the movie I Robot? Well nows your chance. Final Rush is a horde mode based shooter with a lot of potential.

It was a shame not to find many playing the online version as I can see this being a lot of fun in a group. If you like your zombies style horde games then you should give this a try. The game is still in 'Early Access' but I will be keeping my eye on this one. - Enjoy!
