What the developers have to say:

“Greetings, hunters!

The Stomping Land game is currently under development.
  • It has had a year of progress and will continue to undergo production with frequent updates until the end of 2015.
  • The sole purpose of its current release is to have enthusiasts of survival and dinosaur games provide their first-hand insight and feedback while the game is early in development.
  • If you wish to jump into a more finalized gameplay experience, it is recommended to not purchase the game until release, as all features require balancing, bugfixing, and updates for smoother implementation.
  • The price of the game is a one time purchase, and will not increase for release, so you may choose to wait if you prefer a more complete experience from the start.
  • The purpose of the full price for Early Access is to filter in survival and dinosaur enthusiasts who embrace the development process. So if you are unsure, there is no disadvantage in waiting.

Here are the major gameplay features currently implemented:
  • 6 Dinosaurs: Styracosaurus, Carnotaurus, Gallimimus, Parahelicoprion, Ankylosaurus, Stygimoloch
  • Free-roam island with lakes/rivers/caves/forests and a surrounding beach/ocean
  • Persistent Day/Night cycle with random rain+fog
  • PVP weapon combat including roping prisoners
  • Resource collection
  • Crafting system includes campsite items(teepee/firpit etc). Craftable weapons include a bow and arrow, spear, and bolas
  • Swimming + Fish + Spearfishing
  • Tamable/Mountable dinosaurs
  • Random dinosaur stampedes
  • Tribe establishment with isolated chat
  • Offline play (same game, solo)
  • Dedicated servers hosted by players
  • Persistent character data per server

Updates
  • There will be a total of 15 dinosaurs implemented by release, as well as many more craftable items/weapons
  • Dinosaur AI is the only major feature very early in development, intended to be improved per dinosaur all the way until release.
  • The incentive to playing our Early Access game is to be able to voice a first-hand opinion for what your ideal dinosaur survival game would be, while it is still in development. So features are being presented and discussed with the playerbase on the forums.

If you would like to visit our community and see how everyone's discussions have helped shape the progress of the game, you can visit our forums at www.thestompingland.com/forum.

About This Game

The Stomping Land is a multiplayer survival game about living in a world with dinosaurs. Form tribes, setup camp, and hunt down Earth's historic beasts with the goal of becoming the dominant tribe on the island.

You are a hunter and a scavenger. You survive in a world with dinosaurs, and if any one of them catch you, they will end you in an instant. In fact, you can't kill most dinosaurs with ease, and the ones that you can don't provide plentiful amounts of food. It's the large ones that matter. The ones with bone crushing jaws and skull smashing tails that roam the island and fight each other, who provide the food you want. It's up to you to find methods of surviving for as long as possible, so you can tame these creatures to protect you from the relentless threatening engagements.

The Stomping Land game is currently under development, and we recommend to read the developer commentary above to get a solid insight on what to expect with your purchase.

Now when I'm saying I recommend it it just means I'm one of the last few people hoping with all their hearts this game will start seeing regular updates. This is a very fun game as it is, a few glitches here and there, some lag and the occasional *shudders* hacker. It's a blast to play solo, with friends, or just meeting up with random people on servers and forming a tribe to hunt down the larger Dinos on the island. Very good graphics and pretty well polished for an early access, if you're looking for some fun with dinosaurs and don't mind a minor issue here and there go ahead and give this baby a whirl. If you don't like glitches, hackers, ETC and will downvote the hell outta of this game for it then don't buy it and just wait until it's finished. Overall, despite the regular updates and few issues I'd give this Dino filled island a solid 7/10

PS. If you're a hacker I hope you rot in a pile of Dino feces.

After a long time of radio silence the game is now being updated with new dinosaurs and a new c rafting system alongside many other features. I love this game more than any other survival game on the market (Rust, DayZ etc.) as there are very few hackers and the new update has definitely made it more challenging. Disregard all who say the game is dead, they need to update their reviews/actually work out that it's ben updated.

Also it's moving to UE4 so that should be good.

Stomping Lands is a good game to play for 30 minutes, after that you begin repeating the samething over and over again.
The main goal of the game is to either venture deep within the caves, or tame the biggest and baddest creature.
But before that you have to prepare for the goal, when i was doing so i would repeat'dly be killed by an animal spawning next to me or just be hunted down by "Headracks" as i like to call them. Its annoying and that is pretty much the only mid raged creature that will attack you. The others are masive creatures that you dont stand a chance with. I would like to see some improvements with the fish, since all they do is swim under the map. Not only that i think adding in alot more creatures "NOT PREDATORS" would be great. Also being able to climb a tree or jump from a tree to another tree to escape the danger or track/hunt and creature would be awesome!

Although it did take them a while to update this game, and even I wasn't sure if they abandoned it or not, I still really enjoyed this game. I liked the whole idea of being a troglodyte and surviving the dinosaur world. The visuals are well done for a game still in alpha, not including the close pop in range for small plants and grass however. I liked the dependency of the fact you really needed other people to explore caves with you, the water immediately making you its enemy by destroying your torches.
I give this game a 7/10 for now, hoping everything becomes fixed and the updates grow closer together.

Hello everyone. Soooo...
We all know what was happening with Stomping Land, there was lots of rumors about dev team abandoning the game and stuff. Well since game is back on Steam now it has officially proven to be wrong.

Alex Pandora had some ♥♥♥♥ that he needed to work out, and yes he was a di*ck for not telling us on any kind of forum or even Facebook or Twitter what is going on. Lets make long sentence short. He went scilent!

Now about new stuff and gameplay.
Still as you all know this is game that is in early stage and there is acctuly not much bugs like in Rust or DayZ, reason for that is that there is not much content in game yet. But game has been updated several time since steam decidet to remove it from game list. And now that it is back on steam afther all that happend i think that Steam gived them cold ♥♥♥ shoulder and said that if they ♥♥♥♥ it up this time they are done for.

And back to gameplay. Still at this stege game playible for about 2-3 hours.... BUT!! Since there is no way to save your game or anything i guess you shuldnt buy it just yet.

If you really want to buy this game i recomand you to w8 for some time.
And finally would i recommand this game? Answer is... No. Not at this time, as i said w8 for some time and give team time to work something out. I

I hope that this post was helpfull and that i didnt took much of your time away.

I like it, but its really Alpha, dont expect to much of it. I played it some hours, some days, but after you know the map and the caves and riding all dinos its boring. I would still love a much bigger map than this one. I like the graphics, the gameplay, but its just to less.

I absolutely love this game and for all the other dino-nerds out there I suggest you get it too - it's certainly worth it!

But seriously.... Don't underestimate the stygimolochs!

Albeit this game had quite the rough start, this title has boundless potential; I have been following this game since earlier in the year, and I too was distraught by the radio silence and recall from steam as much as the next raving madman with an unhappy steam wallet. Now that the devs have since cleared this issue I highly doubt that they'll make the same mistake again, and now we can hopefully enjoy the spear-weilding, dinosaur-riding, tribal-napping adventure we've all yearned for since childhood. Ooga chugga on my friends, ooga chugga on.

I reccomend this game! Sorry haters, this game is finally getting the updates it deserves! I would say not to buy it RIGHT NOW though. It needs to be complete/or have its price dropped to at least 10-15. But it is getting regular updates! And on forums they even told us when updates are expected to come!Cannot wait for more dinosaurs to be added in the game! I really hope this game looses its bad wrap and becomes loved by the community! Now if you will excuse me......TIME TO KICK DINO ♥♥♥ WITH MAH HATCHET! OOGA CHAKA, OOGA CHAKA!
