“I’m really impressed with Driftmoon. Not just because it’s such an impressive indie project, but because it was a memorable RPG in its own right. A fun, light-hearted game, with a more serious story running beneath it. And once it’s over, there’s still more to do.”

“It's been a long time since I enjoyed a game as much as this one. Think Quest for Glory and Frayed Knights mixed and blended together and you'll have some idea of what to expect.”

Driftmoon is a pleasant indie adventure RPG with entertaining mini-puzzles and dialogue. The game itself is very short but the quality humor keeps things lively.

Here's what you should expect from the game:

- lots of collectibles that require you to be attentive
- small puzzles (small in the sense that they are not too hard)
- easy battles (the battle mechanics aren't very deep but there are at least 4 layers of difficulty)
- rewards for exploration (doing all the side quests affects the outcome of the game)

It's a charming game and one that has character. I do recommend it if you are looking for a lightheartened experience.

One of the best indie games I've played and reviewed.

It is not much in case of the sound, graphics or gameplay and it is trivial as a game but the soul of the game is what captivates you and motivates you to continue untill you finish it.

So you get back from vacation to find everyone in town turned to stone including your mother. Your father has been taken by the evil King Ixal and it’s your job to save everyone. Hey why not, everyone wants to be a hero right.

Driftmoon is an action RPG somewhat like the old school classic Zelda. You return to your home to find the whole village turned to stone except for one of your friends. He tells you all what happened and that your father was taken hostage by the evil King Ixal. Your father has one of the crystals needed to raise the dead and become immortal.

Collect weapons and armor, craft items, and complete missions to help level up. Each level you get one stat point and one skill point to build your character stronger. It was pretty fun to play for a while but I grew tired over time with the mass amount of reading in the game. Enemies also became tedious in fighting since it was mostly a small variety of different types. This is understandable though as it’s not a big budget game.

Overall the game is worth checking out. The story was pretty good and had some laughs and can give you plenty of play time with the main game. There is also editing tools to make your own mods. There were a few mods out for it when I played but nothing that peeked my interest and I also did spend any time creating any because I’m just not skilled enough for that.

Driftmoon in general is very good at being what it is, and that's a video game.

If you've played the likes of Torchlight or Diablo and desire a more passionate, story driven game then this is for you.
The game itself is very light-hearted and fun.

It plays like your typical over the head dungeon crawling adventure game, but with a more childish and playful tone to it.
Finding something I dislike about this game is very difficult because it's so simple, yet addicting and fun.
I don't really want it to be any more or any less than what it is, and I imagine most players feel the same.

Enemies are all crafted with their own personality and will even yell things at you mid battle, most of which will make you smile or laugh.

Combat is typical 'click on the enemy, wait for it to die' type stuff, but combined with the enemies personality, the fast flow of combat and the ease of the game, it tends to keep you hooked.

The areas are all wonderfully detailed, even though the games graphics in general look quite dated.. though honestly the dated graphics really only add to the games playful atmosphere.

I highly suggest buying this game even if you aren't into games like Torchlight because it's something everyone should atleast get a chance to experience.

This game is overflowing with personality and character which is something alot of games today lack.
While the gameplay of course doesn't remind me of Chrono Trigger, the personality of the game still does.

If you do decide to purchase this game, you should be aware that there's alot of reading to do and not really any voice acting. The budget for this game was of course small to say the least, but what they've done with it astounds me.
I've had more fun on this game than I have in any other AAA title in 2013.

A little buggy, but the devs are good about bein active with fixes. Game has lots of humor, good puzzles to make you really think, a cliched but well written story, interesting characters. Definitely worth the 10 hours to complete it.
