An official word plus exciting news...

Announcement made by Zane Saxton

"Comrade’s,

We would like to apologise for the recent time-bomb related bug that prevented you from playing Spintires, it was totally unacceptable and we appreciate the frustration it must have caused you.

A member of our community named ‘Localhost’ along with our Moderators had kindly provided you with a temporary fix that you could use whilst we continued to produce the official fix.

Luckily we have now identified and fixed the bug which was not sabotage like some of the media suspected. The bug was identified by Pavel when running an older test build side-by-side with a newer build - it turns out it was some code that Pavel had invented to try and deal with piracy and DRM issues.

Pavel explains here: “bug was related to self-checks that which I tried to invent myself to prevent the game from being pirated and modded”.

After the recent media speculations, it’s entirely up-to-you if you will believe such a story or not. However, with that said, we accept responsibility for not communicating with our community as much as we should have and perhaps if we had done so, the guesswork by the media wouldn't have been steered so negatively.

It was interesting to read the conspiracy theories about sabotage from the media though, especially when an unnamed media outlet clearly announced they haven’t even contacted Oovee at all about the subject. It does highlight the fact you should only consider official statements directly from the Oovee forum or website as true.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank our moderators and members who supported us during these difficult times, your actions do not go unnoticed.

Now it’s time to move onto something more positive…

Behind the dense forests, swampy lakes (or big black twisters) we have been working hard to secure a deal with a partner, and it is with great pleasure we can now announce that Spintires will be coming to both Xbox One and PS4 expected to arrive early 2017.

If you are not a fan of consoles, do not fear - it is also good news for our PC fans since it now means we will be expanding the development team for that platform as well! It may have taken us some time to secure and announce such a deal but work has already commenced and in the next few months you will hear more details about the ports and additional updates for the PC platform too.

Many thanks for your continued support, love and inspiration.

Zane Saxton, and everyone from Oovee."

Really fun to play but there isnt that many trucks so you're probably gonna end up downloading a mod, which isnt hard its just annoying considering there is no pictures of what it actually is.

i am very impressed with this game, loads of fun even more fun with friends :).
i am a big driving simulator fan :)

i give this game a 9/10, only needs a few things that would make the game 10/10

1. Better support for Steering wheels(i used g920, hard to configure brake\acceleator pedals, i ended up not having a brake pedal)

2. A drivers Camera View

3. A HUD that includes rpm & speed

4. High\Low Gearbox (5th on tarmac seems so slow) i think it will also give beter option for tackling the mud
The current Gearbox ratio's suit a low gear ratio box good.

other than that, i am very happy with this purchase, cant wait to get into the mud again!

This is a great game. With all of the workshop content plus the base game, I foresee putting lots of hours into the game. I do hope the devs add more objectives and activities to do aside from logging. This game has massive potential to improve vastly. If you want a challenging game that will test your patience and your driving skills, this game is for you. It is very fun to find your way through a flooded and raging river, or trying to inch through thick mud just far enough to to wench your way out of being stuck in the mud. Going out to rescue a friend that was loading his truck with logs and accidentally rolled his truck. Using he larger vehicles to help right your friend is fun. Highly recommend playing Spintires.

It’s not survival horror with trucks. It’s survival horror for trucks. You as a driver, as a person, as a foot on a gas pedal and a pair of hands, don’t exist. Whether it’s because Oovee didn’t want to fuss with character models or because it’s an intentional effort to focus on the element of machines vs nature without mere humanity in the middle to muck it all up, the world of Spintires is like Maximum Overdrive, that dopey horror movie where trucks come alive and drive themselves around. Not for the cheese factor, of course.

This game is... complicated. The physics engine is amazing, driving cars through the mud is rad as can be. However, the gameplay is lacking. Gigantic maps and a complex toolkit for operating your vehicle are not stand-ins for actual gameplay. Objectives range from "I don't ♥♥♥♥ing know just try something" to "Put log on truck and move it to X twenty times". I understand that's what the simulation is - an operation of Ruskie industrial vehicles - but still, can you give me anything more interesting to do? Why is there no race mode? Why is the camera so god ♥♥♥♥ing awful? No other game I've played since the early PS2 has had camera control this horrid. Anyways. Taking that into account, I also bought this game for seven dollars and that said, I have a lot of fun just truckin through the mud aimlessly. Recommended but you should know this is not an easy game to play, nor are you going to progress anywhere. It's a simulation and nothing more.

Okay, i've played nearly 30 hours of this game.

Here is my overall advice - if you REALLY love off-road simulators, buy this on sale. Otherwise, if you are "kind of" interested, the camera angle, limited options and general simplicity of the game might annoy the crap out of you. I'm on the fence, love playing, hate dealing with the camera ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t. You'll understand in game why camera is so important, not just for recovery, but for watching the road, making sure you don't go into a ditch, hit a rock or worse case scenario, roll the entire log load.

Below is a short summary

Pros
1 - very realistic terrain deformation
2 - very realistic traction modeling
3 - very realistic physics modeling
4 - realistic 4x4 and diff lock settings
5 - Somewhat active mod community

Cons
1 - CAMERA IS ANNOYING AS ♥♥♥♥
-want to zoom out more while in game? NO.
-want to zoom in more while in the map? NO.
-CAMERA HAS AUTO MOVEMENT WHICH CAN NOT BE DISABLED = ANNOYING
-Camera axis cannot be set - no x-axis or y-axis reversal!
-Camera will set back to default 3rd person EVERY time you select advanced/non advanced
-Camera is focused around some psuedo axis, forget rotate and zoom, there is some weird elliptical motion centered on the middle of the truck that doesn't care whether or not you can see a winch point
2 - 2wd vehicles (BT-130) are basically useless unless you love winches
3 - Confusing log loading. Have to load 3 logs, then position cart, then pack. ZERO instructions in game for this.
4 - Nighttime mode is almost impossible to see. Sure you can see right in front of you, but forget about winching or manuevering or seeing anywhere except straight ahead. I turn off lights for all rescue operations because otherwise you can't see ♥♥♥♥
5 - No plot or story. Just move logs and you're done
6 - Very limited vehicle choice, like 8 or so in game
7 - Winch has max tension and you will constantly be maxing it out, i.e. you hit "pull" and the winch doesn't move ♥♥♥♥. VERY annoying when you are really stuck and could use a real ♥♥♥♥ing winch.

SO yeah, not a bad game, but not a great game. A simulator with some interesting gameplay but a camera angle that really takes the joy out of the game IMHO.

I didn't like the game but am recommending it anyway. Here's why:

The game is essentially an off-road version of Euro Truck Simulator. What I mean by that is this: trucks move smoothly and quickly on highways, but they frequently get bogged down and stuck in the mud. In terms of gameplay, the two are completely different, but they both simulate their environments well.

If you are like me and like big trucks, don't rush out and buy the game without properly researching it like I did. If you want anything to happen quickly, don't get this game. Most of your time will be spent driving 2 mph. If you like using your brain to navigate treacherous environments, buy this game! Just know what you're getting into first.

Fun time with cool truck dynamics. Becomes repetitive quite fast, but remains enjoyable. I was hoping there would be more of a "game" aspect to that game, and it feels more like an hybrid between a "game" and a "work truck in the forest" driving simulator.

spinetires is one of the best offroad games beacuse of the effert they put into the game and that they had taken the time to figure out the problems that everyone has with the game and that it has the best offroad simulation in a long time for being a offroad game

The game is really, really, really fantastic. The Steam modding community is amazing and the game itself is fun. But, there is one thing I want the developers to do. Which is to make it playable on a Macbook laptop. Other than that, it's one of my favorite games on my PC library, My PC is not even made for this, being the fact that it has a small processer, but it still runs really smooth. I suggest this to any who wants a realistic offroad simulator or who wants to have fun.

I would like to add some weather systems and animals to the game. For example, rain, snow, sunny, winter, wolves, birds, tigers... So the game will be better, not so lonely
我希望可以在游戏中添加一些天气系统和动物。比如说下雨、下雪、晴朗、严冬、狼、鸟、老虎.....这样游戏会更好,不会那么孤独

I personally enjoy playing this game. It's a very easy game to get the hang of, and it's honestly very calming to me. It reminds me of when I was a kid and I would ride in the back of the truck at the wood cutting area with my parents. I'm not sure why it does, but it does. Haha! But, anyways. The game's graphics are good for the game, and it has improved a considerable amount since it was first released. Granted, I still get a 2 1/2 ton+ 6x6 truck stuck on a two foot twig from time to time, but compared to how it used to be when it first came out, there has been a lot of improvement. The trucks aren't as prone to flipping as they once were(I still flip some if I have a lead foot. Hahaha! XD ) I've always loved the physics in the game. Watching the roads deteriorate as you drive over them a few times can sometimes present a challenge. Also, I know I've accidentally made an etire side of a map inaccessible because I flipped a truck with long and short logs twice because I wasn't paying attention(Remember children, never text while driving. XD ). I suppose one of the things I didn't like at first was that they changed the trucks that spawned in some of the maps, as in, the ones that appear for you to unlock. But, since they now have the option to have different 'beginning garage loadouts' as I call it. It more than makes up for it.

In conclusion, I think the game is a great time, and my friends and I have had glorious amount of fun wile playing this game. Watching your friend roll down the side of a cliff, only to roll yourself for not watching where you are going has caused a massive amounts of laughs. Sometimes, the game can be frustrating, though. Especially when you get stuck in a place where there's nothing to winch to, or no other truck that's able to make it to that spot so you have to get a little overly creative, which can be a hassle. But, if gives you the feel of what a true log transporter would have to deal with in such conditions.

I'd give this game an 9/10. I recommend this game to everyone I know that likes driving games, and for those who just want a game to relax and not have to focus super hard on it.

P.S. Evertime I see a truck with a trailer with logs on it in real life, I joke to myself about how long it took them to get the trailer aligned properly. Hahahaha! XD
