An official word plus exciting news...

Announcement made by Zane Saxton

"Comrade’s,

We would like to apologise for the recent time-bomb related bug that prevented you from playing Spintires, it was totally unacceptable and we appreciate the frustration it must have caused you.

A member of our community named ‘Localhost’ along with our Moderators had kindly provided you with a temporary fix that you could use whilst we continued to produce the official fix.

Luckily we have now identified and fixed the bug which was not sabotage like some of the media suspected. The bug was identified by Pavel when running an older test build side-by-side with a newer build - it turns out it was some code that Pavel had invented to try and deal with piracy and DRM issues.

Pavel explains here: “bug was related to self-checks that which I tried to invent myself to prevent the game from being pirated and modded”.

After the recent media speculations, it’s entirely up-to-you if you will believe such a story or not. However, with that said, we accept responsibility for not communicating with our community as much as we should have and perhaps if we had done so, the guesswork by the media wouldn't have been steered so negatively.

It was interesting to read the conspiracy theories about sabotage from the media though, especially when an unnamed media outlet clearly announced they haven’t even contacted Oovee at all about the subject. It does highlight the fact you should only consider official statements directly from the Oovee forum or website as true.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank our moderators and members who supported us during these difficult times, your actions do not go unnoticed.

Now it’s time to move onto something more positive…

Behind the dense forests, swampy lakes (or big black twisters) we have been working hard to secure a deal with a partner, and it is with great pleasure we can now announce that Spintires will be coming to both Xbox One and PS4 expected to arrive early 2017.

If you are not a fan of consoles, do not fear - it is also good news for our PC fans since it now means we will be expanding the development team for that platform as well! It may have taken us some time to secure and announce such a deal but work has already commenced and in the next few months you will hear more details about the ports and additional updates for the PC platform too.

Many thanks for your continued support, love and inspiration.

Zane Saxton, and everyone from Oovee."

DEV080316 - Next Update: preview teaser

Hello everyone,

After the last couple of weeks with our bug problems and subsequent fix, we mentioned that we stopped work on the update that we have been working on since Christmas. So, after a weekend of recovery, we are now back working on the update. In the next week we expect to receive the update for testing and at that time we will let you know what new features are included, some of which you are going to love, and some bug fixes. But we will tell you now that this update will include full native support for the new "Steam Controller".

Below are some images from the forthcoming update. Don't ask any questions, because we won't answer them as we will give you details of the changelog when we receive it for testing.

For now, enjoy the screenshots.

It's pretty cool, but I don't know that it's worth $29.99, unless you're really into offroading.

Pros:This game is extremely fun! I only have 6 hours on my record but trust me if you like off-roading vehicles it is a beautiful choice. It is also amazing because steam workshop support. You can quickly download community made trucks by just clicking a button. Other games you have to go thourgh a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t to just get a mod. The graphics are awesome it is sooo beatiful and screenshots ccan be works of art.

Cons: One con for this game it some times will just crash and won't let you exit the game

I really enjoy this game a lot I love the offroading experience.
But here is some things I really don't like about this game.
#1 3D Camera always gets on my nerves at some times.
#2 There should be a REAL 1st person camera not some crummy hood cam.
#3 Developers are at such a SLOW rate of development and can't get there things right there hasn't been an update since the workshop update which is okay I guess.

But I really like the maps and stuff and the very first thing they need to fix is the camera I know a lot of you guys agree that it is stupid not too have a 1st person camera NOT A HOOD CAM and fix the crappy 3D camera always wobbels back and forth it's never in a fixed possition and etc.

But again I really like it I would recoment it but if you don't like any of those cons I posted up there then I would not buy it other than that I still play the game I will recoment this game but to any of you guys that don't like that stuff feel free to leave a thumbs up if any of those things applied.

When you play this game stress makes you drink Vodka every time your piece of ♥♥♥♥ truck stucks somewhere in the mud and swear on russian, you start to forget what is civilization and growing yourself a beard, slowly you becoming a russian. Soon you will live in a wildness with your neigbhoor Ivan Petrovich and your dog Bobik.

10/10, would get drunk in a broken truck again.

What can be fun about driving trucks around in the mud... Well let me tell you, what isn't fun. Everything about this game has been thought about and has suitable physics to go with it.
The struggle on your own is real and it is advisable to jump in a server and play some co-op with a mate, just don't get caught and flip your timber back into the mud to which is came from!
7/10 for overall gameplay and replayability and a 9/10 for short intense burst.

There are mods available and the game still receives dev support.
Would recommend to buy on a sale.

So let me start off by saying this is one of the most impressive games I have played in a long time.
From it's Terrain deformation, to it's beautiful graphics engine, right down to the vehicles themselves this game was masterfully designed in my opinion.
Which makes this review that much more difficult to write.
If the game was a travesty then it would be easy enough to just click the don't recommend button, but the game is even in its "unfinished" state very playable and very enjoyable.
The game released a little while back, it went from a beta to Full Release status which at the time felt pretty rushed but with promises of continued updates making that look a little bit more palatable, Unfortunately updates have stopped coming.
As of the time of writing this it’s been around 2 months since the last official announcement from the developer team, and a month before that.
The community outlook for this game is pretty grim as well if you would like some examples of what the hub of a “dead game” looks like 3 good examples come to mind, Minerwars, Starforge and Spintires.

The T.L.D.R of this review is, the game seems to have gotten stale as the developers have went from infrequent updates to just not releasing updates. I DO NOT recommend this game.
