About This Game

Call of Duty® 2 redefines the cinematic intensity and chaos of battle as seen through the eyes of ordinary soldiers fighting together in epic WWII conflicts. The sequel to 2003's Call of Duty, winner of over 80 Game of the Year awards, Call of Duty 2 offers more immense, more intense, more realistic battles than ever before, thanks to the stunning visuals of the new COD™2 engine.
  • The #1 WWII shooter development team returns with an amazing new experience: Developed by Infinity Ward, creators of the award-winning Call of Duty. All-new, unprecedented enhancements from stunningly realistic graphics to seamless gameplay, thanks to the revolutionary COD2 engine, groundbreaking AI, and choice-based gameplay innovations. Beautifully rendered snow, rain, fog, and smoke, combined with dynamic lighting and shadows, make this the most intense WWII shooter yet.
  • New conflicts and enemies to face: Call of Duty 2 brings you bigger battles, with more tanks, troops, and explosions on-screen, and bigger scope, with a wide range of locales and environments across the European Theater. Fight "The Desert Fox" across the scorching sands of North Africa as wave upon wave of tanks clash in the desert. Use rocket-propelled grappling hooks alongside your Army Ranger squad to storm and scale the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc against a relentless German counterassault, and slog through urban chaos as a tank hunter in war-torn Russia.
  • Rely on your squad as never before: The dozens of Allied soldiers surrounding you are fully aware of the changing situations around them, and will let you know using an all-new, context-sensitive battle chatter system. They will draw enemy fire, lay down cover for you, use foxholes and moving tanks for cover, and warn you of incoming enemy troops and hostile fire.
  • Choice-based gameplay: Play through missions in the order you see fit. Will you decide to play first as a sniper or as a tank commander? It's your call. Open-ended battlefields allow you to individualize your tactics and choose the order in which you complete your objectives.
  • Multiplayer Mayhem: Go online for intense Axis vs. Allies team-based multiplayer action, building on the hugely popular Call of Duty multiplayer modes.

When I first started playing Call of Duty, this was the game I started with. I owned this game on Xbox 360, and when I made the move to PC, I thought I might as well buy this since it is my favourite Call of Duty.

Single player is awesome. Gameplay is smooth, storyline takes you through actual real-life events, unlike the newer Call of Duty games.

As for Multiplayer, I guess it's a hit and miss. I really only wanted to play an unmodded version of multiplayer. Pretty much every server you join has some type of mods, whether it's custom maps, custom game modes, ect. It is pretty hard to find a server that has players in it without mods, and if you do, it's laggy and almost unplayable. I never get more than 30 ping on any other game, but all of the servers that have low ping are empty.

I still enjoy playing some modded servers such as a Zombie survival game mode. Single player can also be replayed several times on different difficulties to keep you entertained. I would suggest waiting until the game is on sale for $9.99 instead of paying full price, but it's definitely worth picking up this timeless piece of history. To this date, I have not played a Call of Duty better than COD2.

its only and good i love but its only worth if its on a low price on sale most worth it is the story to multiplayer still can be good but rarely every server either you have to download a lot of things or they just have bots that are basically brain dead and makes the game a bit dull

A timeless Classic. Used to play it a lot on LAN-Parties back in the days.
The Multiplayer is still existant, which is even more wonderful. (Though i am a b0b)

The biggest Con, in my opinion is the price of, even on sale, 19.99/9.99 for a Game of this Age.

Whats wonderful about the MP part, you dont need to Level-Up, no Perks. Pick the Gun of your favour and go ahead.

The SP Campaign starts with the Russian Offense toward Stalingrad, to the African Battlefields of the Desert Rats, to the Landing at Point-du-Hoc. You dont go to Berlin as in WaW though.

Even if the Visuals are dated, in my opinion once again, you dont necessarily need shiny Graphics if the Game is programmed well and works. (Rarely had bugs, like scripted events not happening)

While the graphics aren't anything to "write home about," (get it? Write home?) the gameplay
is what we're really focusing on here. Everything feels great, from the tight controls, to the real
sense of war. THIS is what Call of Duty should be. NOT that jetpack, jumpy-jump bull crap we have now.

9.5/10 - Would DEFINITELY play again.

10+ years later and this game is still better than Modern Warfare 3.

And Black Ops II.

And Ghosts.

And Advanced Warfare.

And Black Ops III.

A good sequel to the first. Parts are still memorable to me, from D-Day to Stalingrad.

The essential WWII game. This game set the bar and it hasn't been surpassed. This is when COD was good...when Infinity Ward was running the show and before Activision milked the series for all its worth. I make sure to play this game at least once a year. It reminds me when shooters could be violent but also have respect for war and soldiers. Great game. 10/10

Somewhere 20 miles west of Moscow:

Russian Soldier: "These are potatoes, Comrade Commissar! Why are we using potatoes instead of real grenades?"
Commissar Letlev: "Because real grenades are valuable! In fact, they are worth a lot more than you are!"

10/10 Would throw potatoes again.

People say this Call of Duty is one of the best yet made.
If you are keen on COD series, you won't regret the purchase.
Worth a buy during sale as Call of Duty Warchest,
because the game itself is not much cheap.
