Played the game mostly on 3DS. Simply, challenging, yet short platforming run and gun adventure. Nice Western vibe to it. Well worth the $2.

A short, Western-themed 2D platformer in the Mega Man vein. A solid little game which can beaten in around an hour. Levels are short but have no checkpoints so dying restarts the level. Not too much of a problem except for a couple of levels that accounted for over half of my deaths. Some of the level design is of the "you need to die once to know what to avoid next time" variety. There's also the feeling that the devs went down a platformer checklist when creating level features but some of the stuff they did is pretty cool.

Bosses are pretty standard, not great, not bad. Enemies drop gun power-ups and they're mostly in the Contra style. There's no up/down/diagonally shooting, though you can shot while crouched and jumping and this stops feeling restrictive with a couple of minutes of playing. Your health bar doesn't do a particularly good job of conveying how many hits you have until death, as you'll get killed at times with what looks like to be a decent chunk left. Game would've been better off just having some type of numeric representation of health, those this isn't too big of a deal. There are no game overs, you have infinite attempts at levels.

There are three playable characters, Clive, Ms. Johnson, and the duck. Ms. Johnson is clearly inspired by Peach from Mario 2 in how she controls, with the big difference between her and Clive is that she can float for a bit on her jumps. The duck cannot hurt enemies but can jump/fly and is more of a challenge run character.

All said, a decent little game with some replayability, though a bit on the boring/bland side at times but hey, it's 2 buck at full price. Worth picking up if you're looking for a Mega Man-esque platformer.

This game has potential... but ends up being more frustrating than satisfying.
Pros:
- Cool art style
- Nice models and animations.
Cons:
- Movement is feels slow and unresponsive.
- No clear indication of what is and isnt a hazzard. Means lots of frustrating trial and error.
- Punishment for failure is repeating the entire level. Gets boring.

If I spent any more than $2 on this I would have been ♥♥♥♥ed.

With that said, the price point of $1.99 is right on the money. This game is pretty awesome. The only problem I had with it is the length. This game is SHORT! The animation is well done. The gameplay is reminiscent of the Megaman series. The audio while nice, would have been repetitive if the game were any longer. Also the Western style is a refreshing change of pace.

Cheap, short, fun, and EXTREMELY challenging. TOTALLY 100% worth 1.99. That is like the price of a burger, that you eat and it's gone forever. Gunman Clive however isn't edible and will stay with you forever. If you like unique artsyles, tight controls, great level design, and soundtrack look no further.

what drew me to this game was the artstyle, very simplistic and appealing. you really cant say much about it since it was made to be a very simple, only that it was fairly enjoyable if not a bit repetative, but the visuals and smooth animations will be keep you captivated enough to not notice it. all in all if you're looking for a good little bit of entertainment, definately pick it up for 2 bucks, plus this also makes a great gift for friends.

I got this game thinking it would be a short little game for me since I was bored at the time. But, of course, I was wrong. Games pretty bland in the visuals. Its pretty intersting the first few stages, but got old quick. I am well aware this was meant for 3DS and mobile devices, hence it being dull. Level design isn't that great considering I can barely make alot of the jumps in the first few stages. I didn't even finish the damn game becuase it was so dull and boring. Doubt that the gameplay gets any different in the later leveles. Plus, who cares about a generic story abouy the Mayot's Daughter being captured by bandits?
