  • Justin Perfect has lowered hit points. Other bosses and special enemies have a significant increase of hit points.

This shmup is off the walls. It's quite challenging, even on the easiest difficulty. Customization options are numerous, with a variety of ships, weapons, and upgrades to try out and wreck bad dudes with. It's got a crazy sense of humor as well- one of the ships you can fly is a hot dog van and one possible mission has you shooting down space spam ads. The music rocks all sorts of faces. It's the kind of stuff I want to listen to in my car. Overall, this game is in a class of its own.

Fun and challenging gameplay, tons of guns, funny story, AMAZING soundtrack. Also they released a (huge) new patch this year even though the original game is 10 years old now.
The only bad thing about it is how easy the game becomes on subsequent playthroughs with the same pilot.

Ridiculously over the top action, a splash of lowbrow humour and enough challenge to make any SHMUP fan happy - this topped off with colourful sprite graphics and a really kickass soundtrack ensure that JnG has aged extremely well in the decade since it's release.

THis is one of my favorite shoters of all time. The bent sense of humor, custom options for your ships, attention to detail, and absurd levels and hardness keep me coming back. I played this *years** ago, and picked it *again* up on Steam and can't stop playing. Jet and Guns is a must-have masterpiece for anyone who loves SCHMUPS

There is so much to dig into in this game. So many sevcrets and weapons to try out. It's lovely.

Right when you begin the game, the title screen tells you that it is "the ultimate fiery and bloody experience". That would be a nice way of describing this game.

It's "ultimate" because it is a really fun game with really cool mechanics backing it. It's "fiery" because the graphics are incredible for what it is, with enemy craft swarming you mercilessly, shots flying and explosions covering the screen in fiery death. It's "bloody" because the pilots of such enemy craft will pop out of their ships and explode into bloody gibs when you shoot them down and ram your own ship against them, laughing like a maniac. And to top it off, the soundtrack is pure high octane awesomeness courtesy of heavy metal band Machinae Supremacy, whom you may know from other awesome soundtracks like Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams.

All in all, a game that no shoot 'em up fan should let pass. This is, with no room for doubt, the best western shmup made in all of videogame history.

Ah yes... this game.

My dad originally bought this game once it came out on the Rake In Grass website awhile back.

Just have to say this game is literally THE best side scrolling shooter I've ever played ever, and once I saw it was on Steam, I bought it instantly.

The laughs and amazment are still here with this game and it's REDICULOUS gameplay and difficulty, amazing soundtrack, and AWESOME visuals.

Buy it, holy ♥♥♥♥.

Really FUN action game most of the time beautiful with a lot (a lot !) of cool/weird weapons

Advice 1: most important: play on EASY when you start the game or you will be disgusted by the difficulty. Once you have finished the game it will automatically continue on the next level of difficulty with all your money/items kept.

Advice 2: alway try different weapons configurations and upgrade weapons. Remember : there is no penalty in selling weapons (no money lost). And read the advices the game give sometimes about the kind of weapons you need.

Advice 3: You might have to run to survive a level if your weapons are not good enough (for me it was in the Beer level).

The Good:

-Insane Side-Scroller.
-Lots of levels, weapons, and secrets.
-I haven't finished it yet, and i know i'll replay it with different ships, mods, and weapon combos.

The bad:

- Weak story.
- Enemy bullets are often confused with the environment.

Everyone who likes Shmups (Shoot Em Up), should try out Jets'n'Guns at least once, so far I have yet to see a game like this, taking all parts into account at leasr. The upgrade system is fun and allows players to do things their own way, the levels are crafted with care and details and for every level a some loadouts may work better than others, giving the choice of weapon a certain depth. Not to mention there is a small story with many funny references around as well.

The game is several year old and even though it is we still get regular patches which is something not many games can say about themselves.

This is a wonderful game! nuff said!!

I would happily place this game in the same league as top Shmups like R-Type and Gradius. Wonderful graphics, nice and clean and crisp to look at with a sweet soundtrack.

It even has a good degree of customisation with being able to kit your plane out with any sort of weaponry it can hold and has a nice upgrade system for your plane and weapons. Kinda reminds me of the original Carmageddon with the upgrades, just hit the + sign and spend your money.

Theres also a lil bit of a Mechwarrior system in game where your plane generates heat when weapons are used, so you may have to use your guns a lil more wisely as opposed to spray and pray.

All in all, this is a good game and its super reasonably priced. So if you got a lil bit of spare cash, this is worth a punt.

This game has the best ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soundtrack of any shmup I've played, with the possible exceptions of Danmaku Unlimited 2 and Mushihimesama Futari. It's a sidescroller, obviously, and is definitely not a bullet hell game. It's more in the vein of Raptor: Call of the Shadows. Customizable ships and guns, sometimes-unavoidable hits, that sort of thing. It's viscerally satisfying and a complete blast to play. The "humor" and story is a little stupid, it feels like the kind of thing a college-aged kid would throw together over a drunken weekend. But you can just play the game and not care about it. Protip: unless you hate yourself, just start on Too Fat to Die. It's way more fun that way.

Glad to see this finally released on Steam - its one of the most entertaining side-scrolling shooters I've seen in years.

A daft (in a good way) Comic-book-like story spread out over some of the most varied and daft (also in a good way) missions ever: check

Multiple ships and weapon upgrades (some also daft in a good way): check

The ability to upgrade yourself in so inappropriate a manner you can't actually make it past the next mission: check

Its hard to get started however once you get the hang of things this game gets better and better :D

Unlike them Japanese danmaku shmup games, this one isn't about little girls blasting each other. It's about you being the manliest man around and blasting stuff back to hell while listening to that banging hot soundtrack. You should definitely give it a go, especially when it's under 10 bucks.
Even if you don't like the game, that soundtrack sure does make up for it, but lets be serious here, you'll love the game.
