So this game looks beautiful and what controls work are highly responsive. My lack of recomendation comes from multiple facts:

1) The game lacks a fullscreen, the closest you have is maximizing the window. This would be a minor issue but combined with issue #4 I can not recommend this game.
2) Stage selection (umong other things that should be handled in game) is performed via a dialogue popup. Again minor but again refer to issue #4
3) Even if on the lowest difficulty the AI should be able to defeat an enemy who is doing nothing but crouching in place and waiting for them to get close enough to be hit. Small quibble until you read issue #4
4) The game does not properly allow remapping on my Dinput arcade stick(HORI Fighting Stick Mini 4 for PS4) and has movement LOCKED to the Left Stick preventing me from mapping them to the stick on my arcade panel even if remapping worked. This results in the menues being impossible to navigate but once I get into a match my character crouches in place making it impossible to do anything except wait for the enemy to come to me. This issue alone makes the game an immediate avoid for me and combined with the others makes me consider requesting a refund.

I would love to see this game updated to fix these issues (especially issue #4), it truely looks promising but this should not have been launched as a commercial product in it's current state. In the event that an update is forthcoming I will reconsider my review but I will always be of the mind this should have been posted as a beta/early access to get these things ironed out.

Maybe these issues will not bother you if you are not a fan of the 2d arcade fighter genre with a nice pricy arcade stick.

This game is a blast. Whether you like anime itself or you are a fighting gamer. This game has some difficulty but its the type of dificulty that is fun and also challenging.

The game is really short. A experienced fighter can probably clear the story in about 10 minutes. But the amount of fighters and the increasing difficulty can make for a new experience everytime you decide to play.

The local multiplayer can be a blast if both of the players have played at least a little.

The only problem I have with this game is if you do not have a controller to play the game with, It is rediculously hard to even play. The specials require direction inputs that is rediculously hard for a person playing with a keyboard can do.

I loved the game and would reccomend it to people who enjoy fighter games and anime. But make sure you have a controller you can use!

Visually appealing. That game is not easy to controle.
Not numerous, the movements and techniques are a lil' bit hard to perform.

Also, a proper full screen would be nice with some anti-aliasing.
The Gameplay could be reworked I think. Not the easiest, compared to i.e. BlazBlue Calamity Trigger.

Would I recommand it ? If you like the manga style and the pretty girls fighting, then yes. Otherwise, look elsewhere, until the dev changes some things in the gameplay.

Pretty decent game with a few redflags.

Pros-----------
+ Decent Graphics
+ Soundtracks are awesome
+ Controls with a controller are fluid
+ Pretty challenging
+ Lots of panties!
+ Lots of lolis!
Cons----------
- Without a controller it's a nightmare to play
- Online play is not available by default BUT it's possible
- Can be really frustrating but it gives you infinite continues

Overall I would recommend a game especially if you can get it on a sale, it's not Street Fighter or Tekken but it can give you a few hours of fun.

This game has never quite worked for me but it has nice anime girls in it. I send out free copies to some people in hopes of getting this game figured out. Make Vanguard Princess 2 with better controls and more anime ladies, thank you.

Buyer's remorse kicked in too late for me to get a refund...oh well.

I can't recommend this game and here are my reasons:

1 - This is a free doujin game and no one has ever heard word from the original developer about this localisation. That and the publisher never explained how they got the rights to sell it.

2 - The characters they're selling as DLC have always been in the original game.

3 - Not all DLC characters work together which is ridiculous, just look at what I wrote on top of this. All these characters were on the original game to begin with, how come they won't work together now?

4 - The gameplay is dull, clunky and awkward. You don't need to go for combos at all, you can just break the AI by spamming any kind of attack when they perform a wake up.

5 - The game gets boring really fast. REALLY. FAST.

DON'T. BUY. IT.

I have collected all of the trading cards, made a badge, have over a day played, and beaten the game on all dificulties. It is time for a review.
I personally love this game. Saki is my favorite character. Do I recommend this game? Yes, but under certain circumstances. First, let's dive into the true pros and cons of this game. [READ EVERYTHING, INCLUDING MULTIPLAYER]

Pros:
+ Decent fighting system
+ The game runs perfectly fine (Even with WINE)
+ I got it for $1.50 or something like that on Amazon
+ Animations are great
+ Voice acting is good
+ Very fast pace
+Works 90% with Xbox 360 controller (Even through WINE[Still no D-Pad support])

To the cons:
-Little to no story
-Full screen is stretched if you have a widescreen monitor
-Full screen is just default window size and blurry
-Characters such as Lilith keep on spamming a move that will take down your health crazily. (Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=immWpTWSCuM )
-The game does not tell you the commands for the support. (It tells you that Y [Xbox Controller] is the way to activate support, but to actually use them properly. It requires you to move the joy stick in certain directions.

Conclusion: I will recommend this game because it is definitely fun. Of course it's not the absolute best fighting game out there, but for $1.50 or ($5.00 on steam) it's not really that bad. In fact it's fun to play. Other review say that it's only good for about two or so hours of gameplay, but if you give yourself challenges such as beating the game on all difficulties, then you will get the most or even more out of your purchase. For those who may understand, this is basically Marvel VS Capcom (the original), but with an anime/Japanese art style.

I didn't include this in the review, but I think people should know about it. You can play multiplayer with Vanguard Princess. I'm not talking about local, I'm talking about online.
If you want to play multiplayer with a friend, (because I could not for the life of me find any servers) then follow this post:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/262150/discussions/0/540744935955723372/?insideModal=1
Now, this explains MOST of what you need to do. But if you want to host your own server for your friends to join, you MUST..
*_ Open port 7500 to TCP and UDP
*_ Now that the port is open, open up MTSP
* In order to host a server for you and your friends, you must get your public IP here: http://www.whatismyip.com/ (Your IP is: ###.###.###.### <-- that long number)
* Once you have copied that number, go back to MTSP
* The Startup window should still be open, click the tab named "Encrypt IP"
* Paste your IP into the Unencrypted IP box and press the button "Encrypt"
* The box below it should have a whole bunch of numbers now
* You need to copy those numbers and go back to the "Select Mode" tab
* If you are making the server for your friends, make sure the current mode is "Server"
* Paste the number you got into the "Server Name" box and press okay [MAKE SURE IT IS STILL ON PORT 7500]
* Now your server is made and your friends can join
_For your friends, they follow the SteamCommunity post, then open port 7500. (I don't have to do TCP and UDP, but have them do it just to be safe)
_Once they open MTSP , they should have that same Startup box
_They need to click on "Client"
_Then they need to put the number the host recieved got earlier (The encrypted thing) into the "Destination IP" box
_[Make sure DNS is off, unless you know what you're doing] and then press OK
_This should result in joining the server. Right click someones name to the left and press challenge to fight them.
You should be set up now for Online vanguard princess. The reason I'm putting this here is because I had to find that community post, and then go through an ancient MTSP post on a Japanese website in order for it to work. (Because the servers are empty and may cause a high ping)
Hope this was helpful!
