The only reason too play this game would be for the boobs and the Va-jay jay shots.
I thought the fighting would make up for all that but nu.

For the newly released Linux port,

Lets start with the cons:
- It's a WINE wrapped ...
- ...Windows 9x Fighter...
- ...running only windowed mode (640x480, but can be changed though a game.ini file)...
- ...which causes the Steam Overlay not to work...
- ...therefore no working Steam Controller in-game bindings.

But, if you can look past these, here are the pros:
+ DS4 (PS4 controller) works perfectly through bluetooth without requiring any additional driver.
+ If the Steam Controller uses a regular controller template in desktop configs, it works just as well.
+ The gameplay is solid.
+ Every character I tried so far, while unique, is accesible.
+ The artwork is gorgeous, even under such low-res.
+ The animations are fluid.
+ It may make you come back for more after playing it once.

TL,DR: The game presentation and integration may be lacking (due to its WinAPI roots), but it's definitely worth a try, especially for $5.

This game's special moves require your fingers to be lightning fast. 1/100% chance of you getting at least one special move. Cause of this I had to refund the game.

Aside from that, the game is good but you will get bored of it easily.

Pros:

- Girls

- Beautiful pixel artwork & animation

- Decent soundtrack

- Cute characters

- All characters are girls

Cons:

- Hard to make specials

- Gimme some of that special pizza pls

- Evil vampire girl

- Need lightning fast fingers for this

If only I could get this game free... Welp, waiting for winter, loonar, or summer sale then.

Great fighting game, really fun and nice range of characters and assists. They still update it and hope for more to come in the future.

Forgot to add I have a lot more hours but mostly play multiplayer with my friend which you can find in the steam guides.

For $5 this is pretty good fighting game with a fun and diverse roster. There are some weird controller issues but if you use ds4 or ds3 tool I found you can just set a new controller profile up and sync the buttons on the controller with those on your keyboard. Once your satisfied with your controls theres nothing to do but enjoy this awesome fighter.

this is by far one of the most poorly made fighting games i have ever seen that was professionally done. so many of the characters are unusable because none of them are well balanced. there comes a certain degree of skill when one character is not suited to fight another, but winning is still a possibility. however, most of these characters are so unbalanced and illogically over-powered or impossibly weak that it becomes a matter of simply choosing a character thats stronger than all the others and it's an automatic win no matter what the other player/cpu does. it removes any joy or reward from the game, and playing one o the unbelievably nerfed characters gives no reward either. winning is a matter of luck with them.
on top of that, the cpu is sloppy. occasionally it will have the reaction time and foresight of someone who know's the future, and others it becomes clonky and dumb. difficulty changes this but there are still many instances where the cpu just turns into a potato and doesn't fight back. and others where it read's your moves as if it was hearing your thoughts. if you want a rage-game in a 2D fighting platformer, this is for you. if you want an actually good fighting game, look elsewhere because this just makes you frustrated.

Being fan of fighting games since 1991 I can't recomend this one. Great graphics, smooth animation. Decent enough combat mechanics. Also there is neat story to discover. Of course, roster could be bigger. Also I would like to play with some dudes instead of only women. To top it all of price is sweet

Very clunky, poor controller optimizations, bad 'support character' system. Glad I paid for this and all DLC when it was less than $5.00. Don't buy this unless you are out for hentai style fighting over an actual playable fighting game. 3/10

I have collected all of the trading cards, made a badge, have over a day played, and beaten the game on all dificulties. It is time for a review.
I personally love this game. Saki is my favorite character. Do I recommend this game? Yes, but under certain circumstances. First, let's dive into the true pros and cons of this game. [READ EVERYTHING, INCLUDING MULTIPLAYER]

Pros:
+ Decent fighting system
+ The game runs perfectly fine (Even with WINE)
+ I got it for $1.50 or something like that on Amazon
+ Animations are great
+ Voice acting is good
+ Very fast pace
+Works 90% with Xbox 360 controller (Even through WINE[Still no D-Pad support])

To the cons:
-Little to no story
-Full screen is stretched if you have a widescreen monitor
-Full screen is just default window size and blurry
-Characters such as Lilith keep on spamming a move that will take down your health crazily. (Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=immWpTWSCuM )
-The game does not tell you the commands for the support. (It tells you that Y [Xbox Controller] is the way to activate support, but to actually use them properly. It requires you to move the joy stick in certain directions.

Conclusion: I will recommend this game because it is definitely fun. Of course it's not the absolute best fighting game out there, but for $1.50 or ($5.00 on steam) it's not really that bad. In fact it's fun to play. Other review say that it's only good for about two or so hours of gameplay, but if you give yourself challenges such as beating the game on all difficulties, then you will get the most or even more out of your purchase. For those who may understand, this is basically Marvel VS Capcom (the original), but with an anime/Japanese art style.

I didn't include this in the review, but I think people should know about it. You can play multiplayer with Vanguard Princess. I'm not talking about local, I'm talking about online.
If you want to play multiplayer with a friend, (because I could not for the life of me find any servers) then follow this post:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/262150/discussions/0/540744935955723372/?insideModal=1
Now, this explains MOST of what you need to do. But if you want to host your own server for your friends to join, you MUST..
*_ Open port 7500 to TCP and UDP
*_ Now that the port is open, open up MTSP
* In order to host a server for you and your friends, you must get your public IP here: http://www.whatismyip.com/ (Your IP is: ###.###.###.### <-- that long number)
* Once you have copied that number, go back to MTSP
* The Startup window should still be open, click the tab named "Encrypt IP"
* Paste your IP into the Unencrypted IP box and press the button "Encrypt"
* The box below it should have a whole bunch of numbers now
* You need to copy those numbers and go back to the "Select Mode" tab
* If you are making the server for your friends, make sure the current mode is "Server"
* Paste the number you got into the "Server Name" box and press okay [MAKE SURE IT IS STILL ON PORT 7500]
* Now your server is made and your friends can join
_For your friends, they follow the SteamCommunity post, then open port 7500. (I don't have to do TCP and UDP, but have them do it just to be safe)
_Once they open MTSP , they should have that same Startup box
_They need to click on "Client"
_Then they need to put the number the host recieved got earlier (The encrypted thing) into the "Destination IP" box
_[Make sure DNS is off, unless you know what you're doing] and then press OK
_This should result in joining the server. Right click someones name to the left and press challenge to fight them.
You should be set up now for Online vanguard princess. The reason I'm putting this here is because I had to find that community post, and then go through an ancient MTSP post on a Japanese website in order for it to work. (Because the servers are empty and may cause a high ping)
Hope this was helpful!
