About This Game

One fine day, Eryi went to eat the melon that she had been SO looking forward to... but it was nowhere to be found! Then she noticed a note on the table. She picked it up and read: "Your melon looked delicious, so I took it. From Farta X"
Fuming with rage, Eryi set out from her house to get her melon back from Farta.

Eryi's Action is a 2D ‘trapformer’ by developer Xtal Sword that is visually inspired by Super Mario, but has gameplay akin to games like I Wanna Be the Guy. Don’t be fooled by its adorably charming looks – this game abounds in traps and wants you to die! However, where IWBTG was murderously difficult, Eryi's Action is additively challenging and FUN!
Trap placement is often laugh-out-loud funny and seriously engaging. Some traps simply need to be learned to avoided, but others are puzzles that will require your skill and wits to beat. Either way, Eryi’s action delivers laughs, frustrating and satisfaction & all for just $4.99!

Features:
  • 12 action-packed stages & boss fights!
  • Adorably charming world & characters!
  • Fiendishly cunning traps!
  • It’s okay to fail! Autosave has your back!
  • FUN! You'll die a lot, but you WILL go back for more!
  • 32 achievements!

8min of me failing

This is a troll game, something to get your friend to play and lol at them when they fail.
As you play random thinks will pop out to kill you or thinks like blocks, jumpers, or even walls will not act like you think.
You have to remember where and what the hazards are and how to avoid them.
This game is 1 part memory and 1 part puzzle solving and there is no way of knowing what will happen until you see it.
Playing this is like if someone booby trapped your house and watched as you try to get out without tripping any of them.
Yes it's fun for them and anyone else watching but most people wouldn't like being on the receiving end of that.

I'll spare you the comments about how unfair this game is, and the discussion about whether trial and error makes for good game design. If you're considering buying this game then this is probably something you want.

Some traps were pretty clever, and figuring out the more puzzley ones was satisfying. Others were ripped straight from Syobon Action (or Cat Mario) so if you've played that you'll see them coming a mile away.

However the controls are a huge problem. Eryi controls like a bar of soap mounted on springs. She's floaty and slippery and jumps too high or too low, and while I eventually got the hang of her it just wasn't fun. I cannot recommend a platformer with sloppy controls when Super Meat Boy had already been out for years when this released.

This game is terrible. The controls are stiff and the movement is clunky. The game's entire premise is built around having short level full of ridiculous death traps. I don't mind challenging games; that's not what Eryi's Action is about. It's essentially built around trolling the player, and with the horrible movement and controls, you can't even try to have fun doing that.

Stay away.
