Summer 2016 Update

This update spent a long time coming. After many iterations, the parry has finally reached a form that is fair to high and low level players on low and high speed. An array of smaller tweaks are also included.

Dice
After the first year of post-release, I've been more or less hands off in terms of character balance. I believe it's a good thing that these things don't constantly change. After consideration I have decided to make an exemption for Dice. He received some tweaks that make his special move faster and a little more versatile.

Parry
Parrying at low speed now allows the victim to live, but grants full energy to the initiator. This allows specials to be used to guarantee ball control after release. At high speed, parries become a certain kill instead.

Just activating the parry increases the speed by 3 now. Which makes it harder to constantly spam (as you'll lose the ball over time due to the speed). And can be used as a tool to speed up the ball more without doing a more predictable smash.

Change log:
- Parry hitpause delay scales from 40 to 80 speed, 29 frames to 0
- Additional hitpause delay is added if the player is parried from behind
- Serve Auto-parry knockback is reduced to make it certain-kill
- A successful parry completely fills up the energy meter now
- Special moves can be performed after a successful parry, but will be activated at the end of the hitpause
- Parry knockback stun releases 3 frames earlier when pushed against a wall
- Dice's special ball bounce duration is reduced from 16 to 8 frames
- Dice can now choose to release a bunted ball from the ground by holding 'down'
- Reduced clash knockback
- Endlessly extending parry hitpause bug fixed
- Player release before ball release on parry bug fixed
- Latch sprite fix on taunt
- Switch sprite fix on various frames

Jaw Breakers Live Video

https://youtu.be/guqDJnGkmnM
Hype matches, top players from all around Europe and a great setting made the first live Lethal League tournament an event to remember! We had our boy Gijs from Mortier Media make a video to give you a taste of how the event went down. Check out the footage of Jaw Breakers Live!

The music in the video is by Rahzan. The tracks ‘Astronomic’ and ‘Hey’ were a great fit for the vibe we had going. Check out his latest album ‘Home’, released just last month, here. If you’d like to support him, you can (in true underground fashion) give him a mail and ask to buy a copy!

Jaw Breakers Live was won by aTastyT0ast from Germany. As a high placed EU player in the previous Jaw Breakers online tournament all eyes were on him and he has proven to be a worthy champion. On top of the prize money and Lethal League goodies, he will be awarded a special ingame icon to show off with! We hope aTastyT0ast will be there next time to defend his spot and all the others (and more) to challenge him!

The top 5 results:
1) aTastyT0ast (Germany)
2) Ice Coldas (Netherlands)
3) Glioburd (France)
4) YinYin (Germany)
5) Tenasow (Denmark) and Creme Brulee (Netherlands)

To wrap this post up we also got some new merch from EightySixed! Check out this brand new Lethal League tee. Now buy this or the critical error WILL be you!

And as always, follow, retweet, like, love, blablablabla Instagram, Twitter, Facebook

Lethal League is a competative baseball/dodgeball hybrid that supports up to four players in one match. With each strike of the ball, the speed is doubled, sometimes even quadrupled (and in serious cases, maxed at one million). Maybe you and a few friends sit on the couch and hit the ball back and forth a few times. Maybe it's you and a stranger online. Regardless, every hit and dodge are anxiety and adrenaline riddled. With more than four friends who've enjoyed this game with me, we've never experienced any rage or upsetting losses, only awe at how insane it is to bunt the ball at such ridiculous speeds and then pelt it right back at the poor soul who bashed it towards you in the first place. Each character has a special ability that makes the matches all that much more interesting once they've filled their blue bar. Beware Dice and Candy Man. There's also an interesting secret character which you can play as in local matches; I'll let you google the code for yourself.

My friends and I give this game a 10/10 for competative shenanigans and I give it a 9/10 for the minor network bugs.

Worth the price, but I'm glad I snagged it on the humblebundle for a buck.

Great Game! I was having issues with the controller not functioning properly but it is fixed now.

The amount of players online went up a lot since it was put on humble bundle. But I am still having connection issues which doesn't make sense. I will play a game with a group of people lag free then when we rematch, it will disconnect us. I don't understand it. This is the final problem I have with the game. Once this is worked out, this game will be close to perfect. Add in a bit more content, maybe a few more characters and I am happy.

The game feels like a classic fighter mixed with pong. Its really fun and implemented very well.

One of the parts of the game I like the most is how the stages change as they speed of the ball increases.

Keep up the good work! I'm glad to see there are new updates too.

Thumbs up!

In all honesty there are a lot of things to love about this game. The music choices, art style, fluid gameplay all add up to a well polished game.

I was enjoying this game. I really was. It's fun to play.

At least, it WAS fun to play until my character, Candyman, started screaming the d word because I lost. And not just once... he screamed "D**** it, d**** it, d**** it!!"

This really made me not want to play this game again. I wish this was removed. Like, please, give us an option to turn off cursing. There is the option to turn off voiceovers, but where's the fun in that? I like hearing the characters... except when they curse. Again, please give the option, at least, to make the game more kid-friendly and enjoyable for those who don't like to hear cursing.

This game is.... battle pong. I knew it was battle pong before i bought it, but what i severely underestimated was just how well battle pong actually plays.

A unique, fun and quirky fighter where the aim is to hit your opponent with a ball you hit at them. You could argue the premise is simple and the lack of story mode may put people off. But it's a fighting game and an incredibly fun one at that. Especially with friends. I wouldn't personally pay full price though since it has such a small roster of characters and lack of modes.

Lethal League is an extremely fun fighting game up to 4 players fighting with super balls to take down each other.

Seriously it's very addicting if you have friends to play with.

You have "Free for All", "Team Deathmatch" and "Strikers" modes, and several characters to choose from and each character has unique movements and abilities.

However, i never found a multiplayer game, i think the game is dead, but had a lot of fun playing it locally with my nephew.

Technically the game is smooth, bug-free and very stable while the graphics are cartoonish.

Single Player: 7.5/10
Multiplayer: 10/10

Totally Recommended to buy it if you have friends, if not check the forums to get players to play together.

Just started to play and what I've seen so far is enough to recommend this game to everyone.

Mechanics are rock solid (amazing with every game mode, from 1v1 to 2v2 to free for all)
Animations are really well done and backgrounds are just as simple as fitting to create a futuristic (cyberpunk) atmosphere.
Music, just a cherry on top, blends perfectly and gives a certain enjoyable rhythm to the matches.

It's not a "deep" fighting game, but it is definitely a unique one (no other fighting/brawling games have a dodgeball-like mechanic as far as I know) and even if there are no fancy commands/moves it gets pretty technical with angles/feints/tactics.

Again, strongly recommended to everyone.

[Got this game in the Humble Bundle] Good game for some goofs and gaffs with friends and just some great times. Oh, and Impossible without a controller.
