First off, I want to say that I have only finished a single playthrough so far, so impressions may change, but I feel I've got a good enough grasp on what's to come to make a judgement call.
Is this a game?
That depends on what you are looking for in a "game", I suppose. If you are a fan of visual novels already, this is a pretty decent game. If you are familiar with the recent Steam release, "Long Live The Queen", you will have a pretty good idea of what this game is like.
If you do not know what a visual novel is, do not like reading, do not have a functioning imagination, or hold graphics as the highest valued aspect of a game, this is not for you, avoid at all costs.
If you are on the edge, could go either way, as yourself a couple questions:
Do you like choose your own adventure style books?
Do you appreciate stories that vary from mundane, predictable, slice-of-life, to bizarre and out-of-this-world, all in the same setting?
Are you okay with repetition in repeated gameplay?
If you're okay with those things, I think you'll appreciate the game.
Now, in terms of visual novels, this has the standards. My assessment after first playthrough:
The visuals are on level with most VN world, they aren't amazing, but they are enough to put you in the mindset to imagine your surroundings.
Audio is not bad at all, it will get a little repetitve, but all of it is good quality.
The story, my fist playthrough was wild, I purposefully did things that I thought were the worst choices, or most exciting, can't wait to play again and make different choices.
If you are used to a normal visual novel, you might be overwhelmed with how many branching options there are, and the game is much more like Long Live The Queen in that respect.
In any case, I suggest that fans of VNs check it out, definitely on par with most that I've enjoyed.
For the people that want a AAA title, this is an $11 visual novel and not what you are looking for.
