Fun game, reminds me abit of Super Punch Out. You play a boxer and you can control side to side movement, left/right punches, types of punch, and blocking. It can be challenging at times, but with good timing, a bit of strategy, and carefully chosen upgrades, you can really tear through this game quickly. As of this review with 2.8 hours played, I've 100%'d the achievements already (including the 4 secret ones) so I'd imagine you'd get a similar amount of time out of it give or take a few hours. I don't have any other games like it, so I may go back and play it somemore just for fun.

Lots of fun though, recommended if you can get it for very cheap or in a bundle. I was lucky enough to be given mine!

Like Punch-Out? This isn't like Punch-Out.

Beast Boxing Turbo does not use the usual 3 K.O. for a TKO. This game uses the fighting formula for winning a fight(I.E. 2 KO's).

You and your opponent have regenerating health bars and stamina. Taking a blow reduces the maximum amount of health you can have indicated by the red bar. Stamina dictates your power and how many punches you can throw before you tire yourself out. Tiring yourself out is not good because your speed will drop, making your punches and movement slower.

The story has 4 leagues from the easy to beat to opponents that are able to react faster than you.

For those looking for a bit of a challenge normal difficulty does not give that. I beat all my opponents with some relative ease on normal.

After each fight you get coins which are used to purchase equipment and upgrading your stats. Once you beat an opponent they are available on exhibition. This mode allows you to farm for less coins but still a good way to grind for them should you need coins to fight the next opponent.

I really find this game to be very fun. Kinda short on Normal but fun nontheless.

Words not enough to convince? Here's a video of me showing it off:

A decent, easy boxing game. It kind of looks like a Punch-Out‼ derivative, but it isn't really about pattern recognition the same way. Too bad Beast here is *really* is easy – even the hardcore difficulty mode didn't really prove difficult to run through. It's all in the jabs.

Super Punch Out!! always seems to be forgotten by people when listing off the SNES's best titles. To be fair it's up against some stiff competition, but to this day SPO is still an incredibly fun and polished gem that has sadly faded from most people's memories. The developers of Beat Boxing Turbo clearly remember it though, with their game being clearly and highly inspired by Nintendo's boxing puzzle game, with a bit of Fight Night mixed in for a colorful arcade feel that reminded me why I miss SPO so much. It's in no way a perfect replacement, but it's an admirable effort and a surprisingly fun time!

So you want to box? Well tough luck, human, there's no place for your kind in the ring! Under a disguise though no one would stop you, and thus you enter the world of beat boxing in an attempt to make a name for yourself and prove humans have a place in the sport.

As the name suggests, this isn't straight boxing, but somewhere between the over the top feel of the before mentioned Punch Out and a simple arcade recreation of the sport. Your collection of moves is small and the way to utilize them equally limited, but you're given just enough variation to be able to plan out various moves, and counter the attacks of your beastly enemies (which true to form all have their own special attacks and fighting styles). It's easy to learn and honestly pretty easy to master as well, which actually becomes an issue after a point as fights become cake walks and the CPU's way to counteract this is to rely on cheap hits and forcing you into corners that never feel particularly fair. It's disappointing the difficulty fluctuates from such extremes, but when it's not beating you in the face without remorse the ease of conquering your opponents never became hugely unsatisfying.

As a budget priced game there have been some obvious cuts and as a whole the amount of content here is slim. Perhaps most disappointing is the absence of any multiplayer mode, which seems an obvious addition that could have extended the hour or so story mode a lot further. Other issues arise in the clunky combat, that isn't a problem generally but on higher difficulty levels leads to a lot of cheap KO's. Some recycled character models/frames are a bit tacky as well, but the cartoon artstyle mostly makes up for the corners that have been cut off the presentation.

Irregardless, Beast Boxing Turbo is worth recommending if only for how unique it is to the platform, and for how fun it is while it lasts. It's far from the classic that is Super Punch Out!!, but as that is a sequel itself perhaps it's only a matter of waiting for Beast Boxing 2 for it to reach that point.

In the meantime I'll be over here punching pigs in the face.

Beast Boxing Turbo is actually very similar to the likes of Punch-Out!! in many ways.

The story revolves around the protagonist Char, who is secretly a human fighting in a beast tournament. Said tournament doesn't allow humans to participate in it. With the help of her mentor, she masters boxing. And that's the extent of the story.

The gameplay makes up for this, though. It works very much like Punch-Out!!; There's hooks, jabs, uppercuts, all of that. If you relentlessly punch a monster in the face, you'll get tired and your punches won't be as effective.

The game itself can be a challenge if you're playing on a higher difficulty. Please, if you buy this, do yourself the favor of playing on the hardest difficulty and then New Game+.

One problem I have with the game is that the monsters lack a colorful personality. One of the many things I liked about Punch-Out!! is that the fighters' personality made all of them stand out. That isn't in this game.

Not only that, but there's no multiplayer. That's a completely missed opportunity.

However, for the price tag, I can't say that this game is bad. In fact, for the 5 dollars you pay (unless you got it from a bundle), it's actually pretty worth it.

In summary, Beast Boxing Turbo is a great albeit short game. I recommend buying it when you have the chance.

Fun game but way too short, has New Game+ at least.

The AI learns from you and you have to learn their strategies too and the game definitely gets harder but the skill ceiling is still pretty low after you get the hang of it.

Much fun, smashing beast endlessly...
12 Different Enemy(or Opponent), all have different fighting style, classic punch-out like fight system(counter, dodge, smash).
Boxing game with stats are always awesome.
Gain money from matches to improve your stats and equipment.
Control is very simple and comfortable, Good Graphic(for this kind of small and epic game), great sounds, good gameplay.
Rule is just bit different from real boxing. Have Best of (?) Round system, no knockdown, have HP.
And story is very short. Maybe Game is endless, after hard difficulty there is plus1 difficulty.
Spent 3 hour for All Achievement.
Worth to Play.

It plays NOTHING like Punchout. As a Punchout sucessor, it fails miserably. The control style is totally different, there is little focus on attack patterns, there are no specials, and you run away to dodge instead of actually watching your opponents moves.

Putting that comparison aside, it's a fun little romp, if you enjoy arcade style boxing games. Personally, I love them. Even bad games in the genre can be pretty fun, and this one is pretty decent with a unique personaility. The emphasis on chains over countering is a decent, if unprefered, twist, and the RPG elements keep the game escalating in its early stages. Controls are responsive, and beating down an opponnent with no mercy is satisfying (a redeeming feature in a game where you can easily be overleveled).

It's biggest fault is that it relies too heavily on it's RPG elements to manage progression, so your foes will quickly go from being too hard, to just right, to way too easy. Other complaints include a limited number of opponents, and a lack of advanced blocking / dodging strategies.

So it's kind of fun and a little lacking, i.e. it's a $5 game (SRP). I can easily list off a dozen games I've payed more for on sale and enjoyed less.

It's a fun arcadey punch out type game.

It's pretty easy to beat and it's single player only, but the campaign is fun and the graphics and story are quirky enough to be enjoyable.
