Pretty fun. I bought this game expecting a similar style to Gauntlet:Dark Legacy and was slightly disappointed. The game is fun on it's own, but not enough like Dark Legacy. The game is too short and too easy in my opinion. The game is great, but if you're looking for a game like the old gauntlet games, you won't be completely pleased. Otherswise, the game is fun enough to play with friends and enjoy.

Alright.. so we start off terribly by the game having insanely loud crackling audio problems, then I restart it only to get hit by a slow clunky menu when the audio fixes itself, then I discover the game is unplayably laggy when I hop in to a game. Checked out my PC, nothing is wrong with it, not having any problems otherwise (a PC which runs higher taxing games effortlessly, btw), only to find out that it is in fact something wrong with the game itself.

I've never done a 6 minute refund before, but it's happening. I really, really wanted to try out this game because I'm a HUGE fan of the old Gauntlet games (Dark Legacy, mm), but this right here is unplayable. I don't understand how others are having no difficulty, but I got hit with every problem you could think of before I even got in to a game. Hopefully they fix this ridiculously buggy crap..

This is honestly one of the best dungeon crawlers I've played. It is a solid reemake with a good story, an amazing endless mode, and an awesome colloseum mode. The only thing I would recommend, other than a few slight bug fixes, would be a PvP mode. 9 stars out of 11 would play again.

Awesome game! I do not have the necromancer pack but the game was a bit short, but hey it is not a grinding by yourself game, it is more of a get together with friends, destroy creatures, eat turkey and run away from death game :P Definitely recommend the game if you have people to play with. Alone, not so much.

The game is alright, can be great, but currently too short and options for character upgrades are so limited... Hope they can release patch it up and increase game length and content without additional cost.

Instead of just trying to remake the arcade classic this is the best of the new and the old.

The characters all have different powers and abilities (for different play styles), controls are tight and responsive (important when outfighting a horde of monsters) and the abilities and equipment add lots of variety (Elf's exploding arrow is my fave).

Levels are pretty straightforward and the emphasis, like the original, is to fight to enemies in a dungeon.

There can be a lack of variety in the enemies and level design but since you are in a dungeon that is to be expected. Future expansions might fix this.

What I like most is that you can the controls are simple but there is an extra layer with the customization and different character types so you can play how you like.

Warrior has no ranged attacks but kicks ♥♥♥ and take names while Elf moves fast and has ranged attacks but is weak (two health boxes) and once mobbed is dead meat. This means you can mix up the characters, equipment and move sets to play.

My only real criticism is that you appear to be able to continue right from where you died as much as you like with no real penalty so you could just grind through the game without any real skill which makes the levels and challenges a lot less and takes some of the thrill out of trying to stay alive.

Definitely worth getting for multiplayer as well.

Absolute trash. It's so filled with bugs that it did not even shut down properly my first time playing it, racking up over 20 game hours and now I can't even refund it. I'm sure the devs put that in there as a failsafe because they knew it would save them from a couple refunds so they can hold onto your money with their greedy little saugage fingers. Don't bother.

Launched game, destroyed food, got caught by death... repeated this about 5 times. If you ever played Gauntlet in the Arcade you will love this remaster. I bought the extra necro pack and I am horrible with the character but creates a great fun, fast paced game that anyone can join (thanks steam).

Highly recommended.

Some people just can't be pleased. If you are expecting a re-skin of Dark Legacy with better graphics you will be disappointed. If you want a fresh new Gauntlet with loads new ideas and content, I highly recommend this game. The devs have worked tirelessly (and STILL ARE) to please everyone, and that alone speaks volumes. Solo is fun, co-op is even better! Very much worth my money.

A fun overhead-view twin-stick game. Each character has a very different playstyle with extra variety built in as you unlock different weapons for them. Multiple difficulty levels too.

The game is also simple. It isn't some in-depth role playing game. Its just a dungeon-crawler, with the primary element being slaughtering crowds of monsters. Before too long, you have seen it all.

I have no complaints about this game, having a good old time with it. If it gets too hard early on then replay a few stages or with someone in multiplayer and collect more gold to upgrade to proceed. Great feel using my xbox controller and the atmosphere is awesome on some of the stages. Good change up of enemies keeps you changing those combinations of attack and defense.
