I enjoyed playing through Adventure Time: Finn and Jake's Epic Quest. I would recommend it to any Adventure Time fan.
Picked it up during a steam sale for 5 dollars.
+Good chiptune music as well as music from the show.
+Level up system and upgrading to different weapons with Billy.
+Switching between Finn (quick attacks and can roll to dodge) and Jake (stronger but slower attacks and can form a shield)
+Original voice actors from the cartoon.
+Boss battles against various villains from the show.
+Fun to try out different pages/powerups from the Enchiridion book which include backup from Neptr (Never ending pie throwing robot), transformation into Fionna and Cake, traveling on Lady Rainicorn, beating up enemies with the Jakesuit, and Marceline as she plays bass which make enemies dance, leaving them vulnerable to attacks. Some pages can be be bad such as the Knife storm which hits both you and enemies. Princess Bubblegum can reveal the effect of an unknown Enchiridion page. (21 different pages to collect).
+Losing your file/progress is no longer an issue due to patch and updates from the developers.
+The developers continue to patch and fix bugs and glitches. Thanks!
-Gets repetitive. There are sidequests from Key-per, but they always involve killing x amount of a certain enemy, finding and opening x amount of chests, or finding a hidden snail within the level.
-Charcters get stuck once in awhile, but can be fixed by switching characters
-Low level cap (max lvl is 15)
-Game doesn't seem too challenging on normal. (Hard mode is available)
-Not long enough. I believe the average time to beat the game is 5-10 hours. Maybe less if you choose not to explore every level once you find the exit.
-No new game modes or unlockables after finishing the game.
-Needs more worlds, enchiridion pages/powerups and character cameos from the show like LSP (hopefully they add expansions or dlc)
With that being said I still recommend this game because it's a solid fun adventure game. The gameplay is smooth, battles with recognizable enemies such as Gunter and Brain Beast is enjoyable, and it's fun exploring and interacting with the characters from the land of Ooo. Look out for that Door Lord!
