I downloaded it for the novelty and played to unlock all the hats. You're honestly better off spending your time elsewhere. I can't speak for the paid content but the 2 games on offer are shallow and repetitive.

You stack hats like a carnival shooting game.
It's an easy game. If it floats your boat, get it.

I never knew stacking hats could be this entertaining.

The game has a bit of a problem with screen refreshes (see my screenshot), but it's so darn fun. Well done I say, well done.

This is acually Team Fortress 3

Valve decided to move away from the FPS part of Team Fortress 2 and work more towards the Hat part.

I was sitting at home, holding my head in my hands. The doctor had just diagnosed me with feminitis. He found my masculinity levels to be at a terminally low level. I lost hope on growing facial hair ever again. I was eating cartons of raw eggs every morning in hopes to bring back my glory, but alas, it was long gone. In a desperate attempt to regain my spirits, I browsed Steam to hopefully find a game to numb the wound. Then, Max Gentlemen appeared. It was everything I hoped it would be. I stacked hats for hours on end, reminiscing about my manly buffness. Surely I would never again have as much testosterone as Max Gentlemen did. After I unlocked all the hats and all of the characters, and my credit cards were maxed out, I stopped playing. I had lost sleep from playing Max Gentlemen for so long. I moved my eyes for the first time in days to look down from my desk. I lifted up my shirt and saw the most glorious and extravagantly hardened six-pack I had ever seen. I was holding a pint of root beer in my hand. I looked up. Hats that touched the ceiling were placed atop my head. Slowly, I contracted my elbow to stroke my lip. I felt a moustache.

Dreams really do come true.

Surprisingly I was actually able to get roughly two hours of game-play out this already. I actually decided to purchase the DLC halfway through playing this game. It was actually fun and challenging but,
- While it says multi-player on the steam page it is really wi-fi multiplayer, you can't challenge people over the internet and even the leader-boards I found are only local
- DLC appears to be mainly cosmetic with extra hat's and characters, the game modes in the extra levels are the same as the freely available ones

http://youtu.be/FNFipSeTp6k
Unfortunately I was unable to arrange a match against a human opponent, so I only played solo or against AI. It was a surprise to me that there was no online mode. When they say multi-player this apparently means over Wi-fi.
-----The game-play essentially consists of stacking hats and dodging projectiles. In Drinky mode hat's are gained by beating your AI or human opponent to beers served at a bar. In dodgy mode hat's you stack hat's by grabbing them out of the air or off the top of passing carriages. You must have more hat's than your opponent after two munutes to win in challenge mode. Score attack mode allows to play without an opponent and and attempt reach the highest score possible.
-----Before starting a match you choose your character and the AI difficulty if you are playing challenge mode, bronze, silver or gold. The AI is reasonably challenging. You receive a medal rating for beating stages in certain difficulties. I managed to complete every stage in gold difficulty except for the automobile dodgy stage. You will only have half the stages to do this on if you don't purchase the two available DLCs. You can always play score attack to attempt a new high-score.
-----You must 'jump' your hats to avoid projectiles such as beer mugs, darts, birds and boomerangs otherwise you will lose hats. This can be really challenging. You must select which hat in your stack the jump is made with in order to avoid projectiles at different heights. Sometimes I found myself in situations where it was impossibles to avoid all projectiles i.e. because there were multiple projectiles from both sides at different heights.
-----When you start a game you are allowed to choose which hat you and your opponent will wear. There is actually a second page of hats to choose from which you can switch to by selecting an option on your left hand side, I didn't see that at first. You start with a few to choose from and the rest must be unlocked. Some are only accessible with if you own the DLC. Your progress towards unlocking hats depends on the number of hats you stack during matches. Each hat needs a certain amount of hats to unlock, the more you stack the closer you are to unlocking new hats. Some hats are actually unlocked by completing certain game modes at specific difficulties levels. Hat's are purely cosmetic.
-----At first I thought I was the only person posting on the leader-boards that you find in game. Because I couldn't see anyone else's scores. But then I realized that these leader-boards are only local. Which doesn't make sense because it specifically says on the steam page that the this game has online leaderboards.

So the aesthetics of the game are amusing. Every character including the female one is built like a bodybuilder. They will all explode their clothing off by flexing their upper bodies in the character selection menu. Except for Watson who just turns into a non-humanoid Corgi Dog. That's all pretty funny at least the first time. There are quite a lot of hat's and some of them are pretty silly, but they are just hats that sit on your characters heads lol. I actually liked the extra stages that come with the DLC. At the picnic there are men grappling with bears in the background. In the DLC dodgy stage the character are fired out of a cannon and fly through the air continuously rather than driving automobiles. This looks quite amusing and each character has a unique costume for some modes which can be amusing. The animation and style reminded me a lot of adult swim cartoons such as Sea Lab and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

So basically this game kept me entertained and even challenged me, when I had my doubts that it would do that. I thought that the gimmick would wear off very quickly. Maybe it's not so much that that didn't happen but that the game does actually have game-play which I found stimulating. Even though it has a pretty simple concept, it's not too easy. It was disappointing that I couldn't challenge other players online or even find the online leader-boards. But I definitely enjoyed playing this. Some of the DLC content is interesting, however you may not want to spend your money on it. But I think it's worth at least trying the free content.

Imagine yourself in a world of buff, suave, and cultured englishmen. Give them hats, (root)beer and toned abs and you have this game. Also, hats can jump. Shut up logic
