About This Software

Organize your apps on screen and create a different layout for each activity: work, internet, gaming, you name it!

With Mosaico you can easily create app layouts and quickly switch between them, saving you a lot of time and improving your productivity. Mosaico is ideal when you work with more than 4 or 5 windows open. Just create your own layouts and stop searching for the "right" app in the Windows™ taskbar.

Each layout is fully customizable. You decide if an app is active or not, and if you don't need it anymore you can delete it all over.

Mosaico greatly improves the basic Windows™ positioning feature. You can create a desktop layout by just dragging windows around the screen. Mosaico will overlay the possible next position of the window, just release the button and it will be positioned there. You can restore any saved layout with a single click. Mosaico will launch the needed apps and put them in the right place.

Mosaico is perfect if you have a multi-monitor setup. You can send an app to another monitor and it will keep its proportion to the new screen, which is handy if you have monitors of different size and orientation.

Mosaico supports global keyboard shortcuts. You can fast position and resize windows using CTRL+ALT and a numeric key, or any other key you chose to customize in the options.

Mosaico is easy to use, saves time, and is constantly improved following users feedback.

Oh dear god... this new update actually made it even worse.

Thank you uakiki for responding. Unfortunately, these updates have done nothing to improve the experience. If there's one program I expect Mosaico to be able to handle, it's Steam - you know, the platform you're selling your product on. Yet Mosaico can't keep track of the different windows Steam creates. A chat window takes the place of the main window, the main window gets compressed into my friends list, etc.

I actually switched to a different music player, because Mosaico breaks Winamp terribly. But Aimp doesn't even get launched or move by Mosaico, so I have to reposition it manually. Which is the entire point of spending $20 on a tool whose sole purpose is to move windows around.

And while this isn't Mosico's fault, any application you keep open shows up to your friends as you constantly being in it. For something like Mosaico where I just keep it open, and press enter on occasion to straighten my windows, my friends can never see what game I'm playing. Because of this, I now avoid buying applications on Steam.

Mosaico is an application that lets you quickly and easily organise your windows desktop with multiple profiles and improved functionality for anchoring windows. Initially I gave it a bad review because of a number of technical failures. On the developers reccomendation I am giving Mosaico another go. I've only had a quick play and so far I'm not going to change my reccomendation but it is better than when I first reviewed it. I will keep it running for a few days to see if I can be pursauded to change my mind. Anyway first impressions of the update:

- The ability to anchor mosaico out of sight has been much improved and it is now non-intrusive.

- The abilty to anchor anywhere on a multiscreen setup is great.

- Shortcuts have been added to switch between profiles. This works very nicley and it was one of the main reasons I gave it the thumbs down but the shortcut also opens mosaico. It would be much better if it just changed the profile without intruding.

- Occasionally when you switch profiles Mosaico won't close until you manually minimise.

- I experienced some slowdown of the mouse when switching profiles which lasted for about 15 seconds. I'm running good hardware.

- I would like it to be anchored on the right but when I do this it still opens up to the right off screen.

Conclusions

Overall I like this product and I want it to work well. I also like the developer who obviously read my original review and made changes. This is good because it means he's still working on it. I will keep testing it for him as the concept is brilliant and when I feel it's ready for reccomendation I will give the thumbs up. Really there isn't a lot to do for this to be a great peice of software but as it is now expect some teething issues. It just needs to get out the way and stay out the way and it will get a reccomendation from me.

SLOW and non-friendly AT ALL

Confusing and broken interface. Freeze a LOT, required to have Steam open to launch it.
Nearly no feature at all for a PAID software.

Break the Windows taskbar, even make it appear 2 times on the same screen, EVEN AFTER A REBOOT nothing is fixed.

The only feature it provide are already mostly inside windows, all the others features are just broken or freeze your windows.

Autosnap can already be done in windows, EVEN putting them in cascade without the use of the software. And registering "last default location" when you open a software already exist inside windows.

This software bring nothing useful that isn't in windows. It's freezing your computer and making it slow, even on a very powerful PC.

Only useful if you still run on XP SP3, otherwise, all the features its offer are already in Windows.
BUT even there, if you have an old PC that run XP SP3, it will just going to make it freeze even more.

A gaming PC of the year freeze on this software over and over...

At this price tag i was expecting more features... YOU CANNOT even edit shortcuts keys! Disappointing.

I really wanted a tiling manager like this, but if you want to buy it, don't get it on Steam. It will always display that you're using this application to your friends, and it requires Steam to be running.

It would be a lot better if you were able to run Mosaico without having to run Steam. If you had that option I would definitely recommend. Great for productivity, works with multiple monitors, saves your window size "snapshots" and you are able to load them and open the programs that were saved in the snapshot instantly.

Like I said, if you could run w/ out Steam (like with a key code) I would recommend it because of how useful it is.

Update Suggestions:
1. Ability to snap Mosaic window to side of window. It doesn't make much sense to have it hidden at the top of the page, especially with a web browser like Chrome.
2. Shortcuts to summoning screenshots!!

Really useful to have multiple windows on screen at once to get more things done. I haven't used the "auto-arrange" option, I went the manual route. You simply drag the window into a certain portion of the screen, let go of the mouse, and it snaps into place. This program has yet to freeze on me, run slow, or affect windows or other apps negatively. Unfortunately, the window locations you can move them to are pretty limited, IMHO. Also, lets say I have a window that I'd like to move slightly to the right of the window I'm currently working in.. can't do it. If I don't want to snap a window into one of the program's pre-set locations, I have to disable Mosaico, move the window, and then re-enable Mosaico (repeating this process whenever I need to slightly reposition a window).

Another downside, is that you have to have Steam running in order to use the app (I knew this going in, as you can't use anything on Steam without running, you know, Steam). So if you'd like to be able to utilize this program immediately on boot, you have to set Steam to run at boot, wait for Steam to launch, and then for it to launch Mosaico.

An additional problem is even with Mosaico set to run at boot, it doesn't auto-enable. I have to open Mosaico by clicking on the Tray Icon and then hit the enable button. Every time.

My above problems with this app are minor IMO. I use this app everyday at work for Web Designing and it is very useful. However, I'd like to see future updates (or an update, period.) fix the above and really improve this app. $20 is a bit pricy, but I feel this app is worth it for what it accomplishes.

Great piece of software right here. does what it needs to do.
only thing i noticed is that with 2 different screens / resolutions, the snapping patterns and auto order follow main display so on the second screen the windows might not properly show but this is fixable, and should not happen if you have 1 screen or multiple same resolution monitors witch is ussualy the case! :)

Absolutely perfect for multi-window management. Exactly what I wanted from this program. Easy to use, just ctrl +alt + drag and drop. Recommed to anyone who uses a large/multiple montiors. Very good buy!
