I do not know how the bugs escaped mention in the other reviews I read but I feel compelled to write this as a warning. At least some players experience a bug where they die when they are hit by nothing. This happens quite frequently, and perhaps accounts for between 20 and 50 percent of all deaths to those experiencing it. Perhaps most people do not have this issue, though everyone I know who owns it does.

I don't think I could recommend the game even if it worked as intended, mostly because the odd scoring system renders most of the gameplay meaningless.. You will spend the first few minutes mostly breaking even with very little score progress until the one enemy that is actually worth any score shows up. Your score then flies up for a few minutes until that enemy stops spawning for a while and then you wait for it to return.

If you do happen to experience that bug though, paired with the way the game scores, you can unfortunately expect to end most games with a very low score, prior to that enemy spawning. This is of particular interest to achievement hunters because the game may not be such a quick 100% if you have this issue. Dying that early for no reason can make a very long task of the "cumulative score" type achievements present in this game.

At first glance this game doesnt amount to much, the graphics are terrible even at the highest setting, you can not adjust the controls in anyway.... which was of particular annoyance to me due to my mouse being overly sensitive, and theres also no controller support.... atleast there wasnt for my xbox pc controller. The game in general boils down to how long you can survive without crashing or being hit. This sounds alot more simple than it actually is due to a obscene amount of items on screen at once, such as bullets, coins and ships. I myself wouldve put this down within minutes if I wasnt intrested in completing the achievements and once you give this game a little time it shows its true nature. Theres quite abit of strategy that comes into play..... you see you can get power ups, these wear out over time and so need renewing, you also have to pay for these power ups, so you find yourself juggling wether its worth collecting them or waiting for the next to show. If you die straight after picking one up then your score reflects this as score is coins. Something I havnt seen many people mention and thats the music, although only a few tracks play in repeat and after awhile they do grind on you, there pretty decent, one sounds terribly similar to oblivions theme tune, the film with tom cruise. Overall this game is simple beyond belief... but I find myself enjoying a quick blast on it and afterall thats all it ever offered. Its cheap and cheeful 6/10

This is a great little bullet hell game, but don't expect to play it for hours as there is no depth or story here, just the need to kill and not be killed.

As you fly along the constantly moving screen, you must decide if you want to sacrifice your score to get the normal power-ups (multishot, rapid fire etc) you see free in must over games like this. Whilst this is not entirely unique, it brings a little urgency to what is really a very simple game.

The music in the game is terrible, the graphics simple and there is only mouse control - but what the hell I paid less than a quid for it.

Load the game and give a blast for a few minutes a day and you wont be disappointed.

It's a simple game.
So simple that it's just funny.
But secretly, the game is very difficult.

Fun game to occasionally boot.
And the achievements are quite challenging to get.
Do not expect too much from this game so definitely buy him time on sale.

I love this game and am highly gonna recommend it. This game along with Hotline Miami has given me inspiration to get into video game development :) love the mouse controls. Maybe in the 2nd game if you guys ever make one you can create at least a progress level, autosave and also a health bar. Very addictive :D

This game goes for I think a little under $3 definitely worth it considering the amount of fun it is and how simple it is, let me rephrase that the concept and controls are extremely simple, living more than 30 seconds, now that's where skill and luck comes into play. I got a 75% coupon from crafting a badge which makes this little gem cost only 75 cents, so if you get a coupon like that you have no excuse for not at least trying this one out, it's a great way to wake up in the morning too, nothing get's your heart rate and blood pressure up quite like this one, hell my heart's racing more than when I play Outlast XD

I love Side Scrollers and to see a new one for only $3 then why not buy it?

This isn't the best of Side Scroller Shooters I've ever played, but it is fun to a point and will give you a few hours to try and get all the achievements and to get a place on the highscore.

Positives:
- Side Scroll Shooter (Who doesn't love a good one?)
- Catchy Sound and Voice Over
- Highscores (Everytime you play you can try and beat your own highscore or get a place on the Global Highscores)
- Nifty Upgrade/Score System (Killing Enemies Drop power-ups and coins. Coins pay for power-ups and Coins and your Score)
- Achievements are kind of hard to get which makes you want to keep playing to achieve them
- Challenging
- Autofire
- Couple of Hours of Fun

Negatives:
- No Weapon Upgrades
- No Ship Upgrades
- No lives
- No sense of levels or stages (You just play until you die and repeat)
- Screen Shake could give people problems (Luckily you can turn it off)
- No way to see your Steam Friends Highscores, only global.
- Killing enemies doesn't give score, only picking up coins does

Improvements:
- Could have made it that killing enemies give Score
- Could have made it that picking up coins could be spent in a shop later on Weapon/Plane Upgrades
- Could implement levels
- Could implement a way to see friends highscores, not just global

Overall, in my opinion, the game is fun, adictive to a point and challenging. Now don't get me wrong as mentioned above it has it's bad points and could do with some improvements in my opinion. But it has many good points such as challenging achievements and to get on the top of the leaderboard which make you want to keep playing it. Also, for it's price, I'd say it's worth at least buying if you are bored and want to kill some time.

Overall, I'd rate this 3/5!

Gives me a configuration screen for inputs and then once I'm in the game, doesn't accept inputs from either. So, completely unplayable.

Stuff like this can be seen in most college sophomore coding classes. No idea how it got on Steam, but it wasn't even worth the dollar I paid for it. The dev even thought this piece of work deserved to be $10USD until about 8 months ago (March 2014). His attitude might've made me be okay with this... thing... (don't call it a title, it belittles the word) but he's proven to be hard to deal with in just about anything involving people.

The things I put up with for easy 100% games...

Love this game. Love the music, the gameplay is rather addictive. Games we normally play take about 20+ minutes, and if we have to go somewhere less than that, but you still want to play a game, this game makes up for that desire in those few minutes. And dying doesn't mean a lot, compared to games we play today.

The music tho, ten out of ten.

As a forty something year old gamer who hunts for old school style games I really wanted to like this game unfortunately I can't, The overall package had potential but it has many design elements that make little sense. For starters there's no possibility for progression, You just end starting at the beginning and going through exactly the same level up to when the skulls appear and soon after that you die and have to start again, your stuck in that same brief never ending cycle. The scoring is a joke because you just can't get a good score and give yourself something to beat either. I grew up on games such as Space invaders. Defender, Galaxian and Phoenix and I'm always on the lookout for similar games today, Sadly this is not one of them.

They put the emphasis on your accumulated high score yet I can't find a way to actually see what that my total score is?
