MXGP - The Official Motocross Videogame is a motocross racing simulation game developed by Milestone S.r.l. In MXGP you start your career as a wildcard and work your way through MX2 and MX1 championships until you can rise to the top of the leaderboard. As you get better and perform well through the season you'll get offers from better teams and you'll have a much wider selection than the handful of teams you can pick as a wildcard. As well as the career mode there's also Instant Race, Grand Prix, Championship, Time Trial and Multiplayer game modes.

+Great graphics
+Realistic physics
+Interesting control scheme (Gamepad) where one stick is used to steer the bike while the other is used to control how your rider is leaning
+You compete against 15 other riders across 14 real tracks
+The 60 riders and 60 bikes featured in the game are all real
+Winning/competing earns you EXP which levels you up, levelling up unlocks new rider portraits and helmets
+In career mode you can skip stages you don't want to play, for example you can go straight to qualifying if you don't want to do any practice laps
+Quite a few different teams, each with their own bike livery and outfit
+Your team sets you goals which you have to complete in order to stay with said team which adds extra challenge to the game

+/-The multiplayer is pretty dead, personally I don't care since I only play Singleplayer in racing games but I know this is a big deal for a lot of people

-The game does not take kindly to Alt+Tab, it will always freeze the game if not your whole PC
-Not a major issue but the mouse can't be used to navigate the menus
-The tutorials only feature Gamepad bindings so they're useless if you wish to play with KB&M
-The KB&M controls are absolutely awful but that's to be expected from a racing game
-The bike sounds aren't great, i.e. they don't sound realistic

Verdict:
Worth Purchasing (7.5/10)

MXGP is a good motocross racing sim with great graphics, realistic physics, an interesting control scheme and licensed bikes, riders and tracks. If you're a fan of motocross or you're interested in getting into it you can't go wrong with this game.

If you love MX, don't buy it. The graphics are good, the handling is good, and the first person view beats MX vs ATV, but the online play is almost non-existant, and very badly managed. There are no 2-strokes. The bike sounds are TERRIBLE.

If the developer worked a bit more on this game and made it a bit more PC/online oriented, and a bit broader scope than just "this is ehat happened in 2014 MX1 and MX2" it would be the best MX racing sim out there. But it isn't.

Highly recommend this game! I have 100+ hours on it and it takes a lil time to get used to but when you do the flow you can build on this game is a fun thing to get down and when you are clickin your guy starts flyin!!! Not like reflex at all but a good change of pace in my book. love the graphics the sound could get better wish theyd release the dlc for pc and not just ps4. id love new tracks and keep makes more would be lovely!

This is a pretty enjoyable game, although I would recommend trying MX vs ATV Reflex before buying this game. The controls, in my opinion, are far superior to those of MXGP and there is an actual starting gate drop instead of having a countdown. (Which is definitely the largest downfall ofthis game to me)

All in all really fun game, should be on any motocross rider's wishlist!

Hated the game at first, but once you get used to the play style and controls, it's actually a pretty good game. Reflex is still much better IMO, but it's still a pretty good game if you can get it while on sale.
