While I don't usually think of myself as a graphics ♥♥♥♥♥, in this particular instance I'm almost forced to be given the fact that the graphics in this game are terrible compared to your DiRT 3s et al.
I've also come across those who claim DiRT 3 is more of an arcade-style racer whereas this is more of a simulation, however this couldn't be further from the truth. If you wanted to play a proper rally simulation, then you'd look no further than Richard Burns Rally which will test your ability to even drive along a straight line for more than a couple of seconds.
So where does that leave WRC 4 exactly?
Well Codemasters have had years of experience creating games that hit the right balance between gameplay/playability and realism (including the likes of TOCA and even Micro Machines), however WRC 4 seems to want to accelerate in a direction that facilitates neither of these core features; obviously content in the hopes that the WRC license alone would be enough to carry it through. Well it doesn't work I'm afraid.
Also throw into the mix the weird sound effects which sound 'tinny' due to its poor quality and implementation, and what you're left with is a game that couldn't possibly be recommended to anyone.
