I love this game. It's art and game play is beautiful as well as the story. Not often that I find a game that I lose time and spend hours playing. Highly recommend. Very enjoyable.

This game has a very interesting and engaging take on the standard turn based combat that alone would make it recommendable; however, combine that with a fantastic story, absolutely beautiful art direction, memorable characters and sublime music... truly an incredible game.

I absolutley loved this game!
It was a quick play (about 25 total), but I enjoyed the pace and the aesthetic was very welcome and refreshing.
I don't have time for long winded rpgs, but this was just short and sweet enough to be able to enjoy.

The only thing it fell short in at times was the rhyming in all the dialouge. It was cute and added to the fairy tale atmosphere, but it felt a little forced sometimes.

Decently engaging RPG, helped mostly by a nice soundtrack and fairytale-like visuals.
Style is JRPG-based, with repeating enmies in different coats of colours.

Story and dialogue all rhymes, which I guess someone though was a good idea at the time but it gets a little old for my taste.

The game is VERY, VERY easy, as you have access to swapping out party members with no penalty after having used up ones hp/MP. I think I used only a handful of potions in the game, since that healing flowers are present in every battle.
The characters in the game are quite cute, but not given much time to develop beyond a single trait or so (Mouse mercant, soldier monster, dwarven mage).

Overall, a fairly nice but a bit shallow of a game.

Worth the asking price. the hand drawn art is amazing, the music is amazing, the characters are pretty good also. This game was worth the run through. This is a true throwback to turnbase RPG's. I really enjoyed the character development in this game and i also enjoyed the skill tree. There was a couple of time i had to grind a bit to take on a boss but it was worth it.

This is one of those games that make you long for old traditional turnbase JRPG's with a new twist to it.

I'm never buying another Ubisoft product...the amount of DRM hoops you have to jump through initially is unbelievable (I get the impression they want the PC platform to die because this is how you kill a platform). Oh...and then the game crashed at startup so I haven't even got to the menu yet. How do I get a refund?

A game so sweet
to let go you shall resist

and though you know me not
you must try it, I demand!
*he means insist*

A tale about a girl that's sweet
in a land where various creatures she will meet

to find a way home, and save her kin
- a story-line you certainly have already seen.

But amidst what you know, and have already tried in taste
you will find an enchanting graphics and a gameplay well paced.

Though not overly complex or ridiculously hard
it is such a sweet treat - this game will grow to your heart.

Pretty Simple review here.

This is a great game. Great art, great story, easy but fun battle system.

Only downside is the length. It plays very quickly. (and don't take that to mean I want more grinding developers)

That being said, I'd say it's well worth the $15 price tag.

The game has a great story and atmosphere, with beautiful scenes and visuals. The characters are lovely. The combat gets a bit repetitive, but using the nice variety of characters can balance it.

I am reviewing my #2 fav game from ubisoft

PROS
-Amazing but sad story enriched with flawless art work and music, Brillant artwork and amazing gameplay. love it.

CONS
-Forced rhyming, I know ubisoft's trying to make the story fun but sometimes those rhymes are just stupid.

-Uplay issues when could save does not work

Score: 9.5/10

Child of Light left me delightfully entertained at every turn. With beautiful backgrounds, lovely music, and a fun twist on the standard turn-based style of game play, it provides a comfortably level of challenge as you learn to balance the timing of your attacks and how you delay you delay your enemies. The story is fun, even if a little predictable. The rhyming conversations between characters (and lack there of for one) is a cute little detail for this storybook style adventure.

My main complaint for it is that, despite gathering quite a few companions on the journey, you are limited to two characters in fights (two in a have if you want to count your friendly little firefly). That said, it is balanced by the free swap out, if you even need to do so (casual really did not require it, but the more challenging mode might).

Child of Light is an amazing game. That's the short review. It does, however, have a major flaw: While the art design and turn-based combat system never disappoint, the story leaves much to be desired. Not in the journey, but in the ending.

I do not want to get too into-detail so as not to spoil those who want to buy the game, but I will leave this warning: If you get attached to storylines and value proper closure and complete endings, this might be a game to avoid. The story flows incredibly well until the final stretch of the game, in which the developers sloppily attempted to wrap everything together. It honestly feels like they ran out of budget or time and had to quickly slap an ending on the game.

If you value the journey more than the ending, have at it. It will not disappoint.
