This is a fun and humorous spin-off of Viscera Cleanup Detail. It's comparatively short, but it features distinct voice acting and set pieces. I wouldn't expect a spin-off of an early access game to be this polished, but it sure is. I enjoyed cleaning up and nabbing the achievements for this one. There is something very zen about the Viscera Cleanup Detail games. The clever voice acting made this all the more enjoyable, and it's a feature I think would make the main game feel more complete.

The idea that after a shooter takes place, someone has to come along and clean up the arena is rather clever.... but the gameplay in practice is an incredibly tedious scavenger hunt with very little direction. its a freebie with Shadow Warrior, so I can't really complain too much, but there's just not much game here: I wouldn't have paid for this.

It is a very fun and casual game were you have to clean up all the mess created by lo wang in the temple level of shadow warrior, which would make you ask yourself "What was the need to slice the enemies like onions even though it was fun"! And by the mess I mean the chopped abdomens, their smg bullets, katanas, and holy freakin ♥♥♥♥ so much blood I mean its literally in gallons and you as the janitor have to clean all of that ♥♥♥♥.The games comes free when you buy shadow warrior.Sadistic, gory, fun and free, what more do you want from it! PS.Shadow warrior is freakin' awesome :)

This is a long review so if you want just a brief summary of why I recommend Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior skip to Results and read from there.

RuneStorm brings to life all of our dreams by finally making a title where you get to see what happens after you play a game. After playing Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior you’ll learn that maybe you should reconsider before you go out of your way to break everything in a room.

Story:
Lo Wang got in a devastating battle at a temple nearby destroying everything in sight. You are hired as a janitor to clean up a terrible mess. Bodies are everywhere, art is destroyed, and you’re the only man for the job.

Campaign:
There is one level; it’s the same as the first level in the new Shadow Warrior game. It’s your job to clean it up with a mop and your hands. You must deposit the debris into various incinerators, mop up blood, and grab all the cash you can find. The campaign only has two achievements, clean up everything and grab all the money. If you can do this you’ve proven that “you’re the best around and nothing’s ever gonna to keep you down.”

Gameplay:
This game plays similar to an FPS. The camera is always in first person and your two weapons are a mop and your hands. You must pick up garbage with your hands and throw it into incinerators while mopping up gallons of blood. You better keep your mop clean, but beware for some odd reason the machines that provide water can shoot out an organ. Similar to a normal janitor after you are done you must clock out.

Results:
If you have always wondered what happens after a game, wonder what life as a janitor for crime scenes would be like, or even just want to play a game that doesn’t push your wits then Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior is for you. This brilliant game is hilarious to play if you just beat the first level of Shadow Warrior. For some odd reason the character sounds exactly like Lo Wang, which makes me wonder if after he saved the universe he decided to give up fighting and clean up his messes.

Pros:
+You get to experience Shadow Warrior through a whole new light.
+You get to clean up bodies, mop up blood, and steal money… how many games offer that?
+Good graphics
+Easy gameplay, with simple controls.
+Funny dialogue
+Two straightforward achievements
+Its free if you already own Shadow Warrior (2013)
+YOU GET TO BE A JANITOR

Cons:
-Cleaning up everything achievement can be really annoying as a single bullet shell could be the culprit.
-There is only one level (why can’t we clean more)

"After the battle is before the janitor job"

This little Minigame included for free in Shadow Warrior 2013 (don't buy it alone) is funny.
Collect all distributed body parts together and burn them in the oven. Even bloody waterbuckets and Ninja Swords will gone in flames ...
Enjoy the nice comments of your Character during his hard job.
In the end you will be rewarded with the clean job done and 2 Mio dollars bloody money.
Not bad for an ordinary janitor job, isn't it?

Recommended: Out of the three Viscera Cleanup Detail games, VCD: Shadow Warrior might seem the smallest, but it is also the most polished. If the premise of Viscera Cleanup Detail appeals to you, then this is a great place to start.

Cleaning blood and guts in nice zen environment. Looting Yakuza money. Swearing at myself because I seriously just went and left bloody footprints on nice clean tile floor I cleaned a moment ago. Centre my chi and find my inner janitor because I can't stop cleaning! ...And I don't want to.

Game is great and unexpectedly fun. Yeah, i mean it - being janitor is fun in this game.
So, you killed a lot of yakuza members in your quest for an ancient magical blade. Great work. Now someone has to clear up this mess you made along the way!
Game is really fun and engaging, and have a surprising amount of depth and strategy. Oh, and did i mention the co-op?
The only minus is game is ridiculously short - you can 100% complete it in an hour and there is only one mission. But you did get that game for free didn't ya? If you want more levels, more freedom and more toys - buy the original VCD which have all of it in spades.

I have no idea why I love VCD so much, there's something awfully brilliant about cleaning up after Wang over and over, I found myself reviewing my life; my current health. I decided I would put more effort into the gym. I found myself planning small trips. Deciding to finally read a new book. Get my roof fixed maybe. I stopped about 30 minutes in to have a cup of tea which was well deserved. I decided (Between corpse handlings) I would at least try with a girl a liked, I mean what do I have to lose? And then, whilst mopping up my own bloody footprints for the millionth time I realised it was 2am. Ever wanted to know what being on the lowest rong of the employment ladder is like? Play this game, It will fix your life. This is the best councellour ever and its much cheaper.

I swear to god the ♥♥♥♥ing Space Marines are at it again, all they do is kill left and right and leave. At least the Doom marine was nice enough to disintegrate some of the bodies. Key word, some. While these glory hogs are basked with praise it was us janitors, we solemn few, it was US who cleaned the aftermath! We prevented disease outbreaks and reanimations from occuring. We prevented millions of deaths. But do you see our names on the newspaper? On the media? No. It's all about them. I don't get paid enough for this ♥♥♥♥ anymore. *drops mop*

The real hero in Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior is the janitor, who tries to get blood and giblets out of the expensive carpet.

At first glance Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior looks like a dumb joke game that makes you want to roll your eyes. However the game is oddly satisfying and rather enjoyable making it a nice extra for buying Shadow Warrior. The goal of the game is simple you punch in and start cleaning up a massacre left behind by a one man army from any FPS game. Using buckets of water and waste disposal bins you clean blood stains off the floor and pick up body parts, weapons, bullet casings, broken glass, various broken items and money.

As you clean you need to be somewhat careful, tipping over a bloody bucket of water will make a giant mess, stepping in blood will leave bloody footprints behind as you walk and dropping body parts will cause large splatters of blood to appear. As you clean your character will make amusing black humour comments as you go which seem to have enough variety to not get boring or repeat too much.

The game is not without its issues unfortunately. Once things get going with the Physics they can bounce around a lot this generally happens when carrying bins full of waste so it's a good idea not to overfill them. On rare occasions objects may glitch into something else and be difficult to dislodge I found a foot stuck in the floor that required a fair bit of pulling to remove. The worst offender is that it's possible to create mess in impossible to reach spots or spots you can't even see. I spent the last 30 minutes of my time hunting down mess with the Sniffer to find that the Incinerators were making it trigger wildly. A shard of glass had gotten stuck somewhere in one Incinerator and the other I found a head that refused to burn until being thrown inside for the third time. Thankfully there is a console and a command to clean up the nearest mess allowing you to quickly rectify any glitched items.

The game itself is absolutely gorgeous using the famous Unreal Game Engine that makes everything made in it look amazing. The sound and voice assets are also well done. Overall it's a oddly satisfying and fun game to play that's perfect when you want something more relaxing to do.
