Ce que les développeurs ont à dire :

“Entropy is a sandbox science fiction MMOG with a strong focus on freeform gameplay and large-scale space combat, and is available right now for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Set in a true open-world sandbox, Entropy is an ambitious entry into the era of community-driven projects, where players will help decide the game’s development direction, helping to build the definitive sci-fi MMO experience.

The Early Access release of Entropy sees us launch with a strong foundation of features, including incredible multiplayer space combat, where each instance can hold more than a hundred simultaneous players all battling for supremacy, and a player-driven trading system, where both trading stations and players will determine the state of the economy. Add to this, mining, salvaging and exploration (of over a hundred explorable systems), as well as a developing dynamic mission system, and you have a game with scale, ambition, and the desire to build a community who wish to develop the best experience possible.

We’ll be releasing updates approximately every week, with a major update being delivered roughly every month. As an Alpha build, there will be some bugs, and features that are being fleshed out further or are yet to be included, so bear that in mind. However, we want our community to be vocal, creative and passionate, so please get involved in the discussion on the Entropy Steam Community pages and help us create the definitive MMO experience.”

Entropy Release Notes - 22 October 2014

SYSTEM TRAVEL & NAVIGATION
  • Colliding with a solid object (like an asteroid, Station or Void Gate) while using Void Warp will now destroy your ship, as if you had been defeated in combat
  • Added new Self Destruct button to upper-right of main HUD - clicking this will activate your ship's emergency self-destruct, which can be used to return to a Station if your ship becomes (or is already) 'stuck' somewhere in a star system
  • Added new Locations button to upper-right of main HUD - clicking this will open a list of all the Void Gates and Stations in the current star system
  • Clicking on a Void Gate or Station in the Locations list will select it as your current target
  • Note that encounter areas are not shown in this initial version of the Locations list
  • When a route is selected via the Galaxy Map, the next Void Gate in the route will be coloured blue on the HUD, and if it is not in view, a blue arrow at the edge of the targeting reticule will point towards it

GUI
  • It is now possible to select and load munitions for weapons while docked at a Station - right-click on an installed weapon module in the Inventory window and select the 'Charge' option to select from the available munitions
  • Improved display of text after resizing a GUI window
  • The 'Warehouse' section has been removed from the Inventory window when opened on the HUD - in order to access your Warehouse at a Station, you must dock at the Station

FACTION CONFLICT
  • Station emplacements will no longer attack players contracted with rival megacorps unless the star system is in crisis
  • Stations and Station emplacements are now immune from harm unless the star system is in crisis
  • Tension tooltips should now display the correct megacorps, according to the star system

BUG FIXES

À propos de ce jeu

Entropy is an open-universe science fiction MMO with a strong focus on freeform gameplay and large-scale space combat. Explore a hostile galaxy filled with over a hundred solar systems, each completely explorable, where you can hunt, trade, mine and salvage in order to survive. In Entropy, you can play the way you want, and take part in shaping a universe where you, the players, are in control.

Key features

  • Massively multiplayer Space Combat
Entropy finally delivers a true dogfighting experience in an MMO environment. Experience the thrill of skill-based combat set against a massively multiplayer arena, where up to a hundred simultaneous players per instance can fight for supremacy.

  • Dynamic Trade
Economics is the engine that drives the universe of Entropy, and a good knowledge of supply and demand can make you a fortune. Whether you play the market and trade between different stations, transporting goods across star systems crawling with pirates, mine rich asteroids or loot ancient relics, there are many routes to riches.

  • Customisation
A deep character development system allows you to customize yours skills and ship modules to be the best possible pilot in the role that you want to play. Offensive, defensive and passive abilities allow you to customise your approach to combat and survival. Add to this a deep avatar creator with infinite variations, and you have a game intent on making each player unique and specialised.

  • Exploration
Entropy already has 120 explorable star systems that can be interacted with on three different gameplay levels. The Galaxy map allows you to plot routes across the galaxy, through safe or hostile territory. The System map is where you travel between locations, hunt down players with valuable loot, and discover Sectors containing rich mining fields and ancient derelicts. These Sectors are the 3D levels in which the action will take place. Many sectors are permanent features of a system, but there are also dynamic Sectors that will only appear through persistent exploration.

Entropy is a true MMO - not just an arena shooter or a single-player game with added online functionality. You can interact with thousands of other players - some friendly, many hostile. Your actions will shape and influence the persistent universe.

considering Ursa, Russian,Gatsu and myself have been the only players left from release and have done a RIDICULOUS amount of testing and bug reporting, yea something should be given to the remaining dedicated players since THEY PAID TO TEST YOUR GAME FOR YOU ARTPLANT i for one am done, theres nothing left with any meaning in the game.

-Mining(worthless just go to barrums buy wat u need)
-Salvage(non-existent :/ great call btw devs)
-Refining/Crafting(obviously not done yet so no judgement other than NOT DONE YET)
-Combat(pull>turn>pewpew wow must have been sooooo hard to program that)
-Trade(total ♥♥♥♥in waste of time just give yourself infinite creds with the exploit)
-Player Economy(been over year guys absolutely none other than an expensive repair bill for supporting who? the npcs?)
-PVP(current 30day avg 2.9 so yea, ursa vs russian)
-Mods(all broken & easily exploited)
-Ships(not a single balance or new ship since release)
-Map(now we have an incredibly small "3d" map, thx for that)

The forums are literally more fun and exciting as well as much more active than the game itself, whats that say for your gameplay artplant? Anyway im done ranting, best of luck guys

It's all dead in space. I bought this a while ago, being excited about the idea of an MMO in spaceships. Graphics in the vids looked cool and a flat-rate buy-in with no subscription in the future to play!

Now I see there is no future. The game seems pretty much dead. I don't think I've seen any updates since last October, but you don't have to quote me on that because I don't know... it's such an uninteresting game that I quite caring.

The biggest thing right off the start was the "2D Navigation Map" yep... 2D. And you won't find it Highlighted in ANY of the screenshots on the StorePage. But you know that one bright picture, of the Orange Sun, asteroids, and ships flying in; well you see that ONE picture ALL THE TIME as the loadscreen.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=376160681

So you spend 80% of your time on this 2D map, loading in and out of EVERY little thing. So you get that picture all the time as you engage any enemy, mine, change sectors (which you have to do constaly), enter a Station's Space (instance), enter a station, leave a station, leave the space, 2Dmap, fly around in this little retro feeling cutesy version of the game you thought you were going to play.

Combat, well that was disappointing to during my short and uneventful tries playing. Any time you want to engage in combat (or mining) you have to load in to the instance from the 2D map, and the space is Small. The Space Box looked real pretty, but the ships felt like logs in space and almost always (at the time) the Ai would just fly in circles. Literally Circles, you'ld get close fire and it would turn into the most disappointing space combat you can imagine. The kind where you constantly excellerate past each other, firing wildly, just missing ships, then you both flip around and pass each other in the other direction. If it's too much, you just fly away; either to the edge of that rendered space (before loading out to the 2D nav map,) and turn around, or just fly off to "warp away"... lame. After a bit you really just get irritated and so you stop moving, which seemed to confuse the AI for a bit. Then you basically play space turret and just spin around shooting at the AI. kill them get some items and return to the 2D navmap... real uneventful. Even the mining was tedious and consisted of no more thanmoving near some asteroids and hitting them with a colored laser. Area's with Enemy AI could be avoided, or you could eneter and simply avoid the circling AI at the center of the instanced-space.

I could go on and on. Basically, there is NOT as much bad*ss space fighting as you'ld like. It's a heavily "instanced" game, meaning it loads into EVERYTHING> it is NOT SEEMLESS. The one apparently fully functioning mechanic is trade, but AI trade. You basically run around chasing automated but "random" shiftes in the AI market buying goods at low prices and trying to make it back in time to sell somewhere else. If you are a SUPER cash/trade managment player you may enjoy it. But really you'll hop on that 2D map too and immediately feel like you just wasted 20$, even if it is "perminet access". 'Cause you will spend ALL that running around time on that damned 2D map. It really does feel like a classic "bait and switch". You pay for the game shown in the vids and screens, but you get to play this "other" game of 2D map flight about 80-90% of the time. There are better games to play if trade is really your thing. SO MANY OTHERS!

SAVE YOU CASH, LOOK ANYWAY ELSE. Buy Kerbal Space Program on sale, or Any of the New Gen Space Games, or Nexus, Sins of a Solar Empire, AYTHING other than this. PLay Star Trek Online for FREE!!!!! I swear you'll get tons more hours of better, although sometimes clunky, gameplay out of that than you will on this.

Also... it appears the online comminity is really dead. There was barely anyone on when I tried and almost no one now. Seriously you can get on and play an MMO alone.
My last minute advice if you still feel like you want to buy this: DON'T.
Watch videos of the 2D nav map, then consider that's about 80% of your gameplay right there.

I enjoy space games immensly and I do hope for this game to turn around, but currently I can not recommend it.

Horrid controls, Feels very clunky for me.
Updates are far and few between.
Dead community - Lucky to see 2-5 people online.
Latency issues (I can live with that, I live on a rock (Australia - connected via 100/40 m/s Cable connection) and have to deal with high pings, but this is 3-5 times worse than any other MMO I ever played.

I really wanted to see this game do well, but in its current state I dont hold much hope, but this is the change we take when grabbing early release games.

Shall re-visit this maybe in another 6-12 months and I do hope that a miracle has happened and its turned around and doing well. Which I hope I can change my review to a positive one and a Thumbs up.

If you see Entropy on a Steam sale for a buck or two, it be worth it, But until its at release and showing promise I wouldnt pay current retail.

This game has been dead for over a year and has never been in a 'playable' state. To this day it is infested with easily exploitable mechanics, including the ability to generate in-game money infinitely. I would not advise anyone spend a cent on this.

I kinda regret getting this... It looked great at first, very promising. But now, I don't play it, mostly because the updates have made it a mess of graphic bugs for me, and honestly I can't be bothered to find a fix because this game has apparently gone downhill.

It was okay to play, but I never got that immersed, and now, the community appears to be bailing out, reviews are getting mixed, and I can't even play it period thanks to the bugged graphics...

First of all this game is in a early stage. There are issues and bugs so before you even consider buying it you need to ask yourself if you're patient enough to help an upcoming MMO shape into you want it to be. If you do not have the ability to be able to figure how the game works on your own and deal with problems then I would say your best bet is to move along.

The game is a great concept with lots of potential in my eyes. The graphics are nice and even though there weren't a lot of character creation options (hopefully a lot more will be added) I still made a character that I was happy with. When I first logged in everything was pretty much easy to figure out. Once I got to the station after following my quest line I came across an issue with being unable to find an item to complete my quest.

Once I was able to continue with my mission progress I received another quest asking me to go to an Unknown Sector - I am now unsure of what to do. I leave the station and port out onto the map and there is no direction telling me where to go. I tried exploring on my own but was killed several times. I plan to try again today and figure out where I need to go.

As for combat it's very smooth and fluid and the only thing I don't really like is having to hit "alt" for free mouse movement, which normally but be fine, but it puts your ship in a bit of a freeze frame yet still moving though space. If you could just keep your camera the same and use free mouse that would be great!

Overall I see myself sticking around to help the progression of the game. The devs seem really nice as I have spoken to them and just really friendly people who really want to make a great game that is community focused.

**Update**

I never figured out the mission I was working on and instead I abanonded it thinking it was bugged (it was) then later found out that there is no way to pick up a dropped mission (it was told to me a fix will be implemented to pick abanonded missions back up.)

I decided to try going back to the first station you come across and when I did the mission board was full of missions and the encounters were a lot easier and "green" to me. Only issue I find now is I don't get credit for the missions.

So figured I would toss in a quick update on my review to let everyone know a little expoloring and things can be figured out without tool tips or a guide. However, I do really hope to see a lot more explantion in mission logs and tool tips.

I got 100+ hours in this game and I've very mixed. If you like "buy low here, sell high here" then you should enjoy this game.

However, looking at the bigger picture be warned. It seems the game devs have simply stopped updating the game. I have seen no activity in months (currently Oct 2014) Worse over 99% of the community has left.

So if you like playing a MMO all by yourself with little fear of hostile action, then yes you'll enjoy it.

This game does have a lot of potential but it's just way too early to buy now. I can't seem to complete any missions beyond the tutorial. I get pirate kill missions and don't get credit for any of the kills. I did "find thief" missions and no one could find where sectors 1 - 5 were. All the space traveling is done in a 2d birds eye view, which I am not a fan of. This game is extremely instanced and each instance is very small. I hit loading screens every 3-4 minutes on average. I tried using my saitek x52 pro and there seems to be no joystick support. I think this game may be fun in the future but at this time I feel like I purchased this game thinking it was something else than it is.
