IT'S 2021 IN MYCAREER AND OBAMA IS STILL IN THE WHITE HOUSE! EEERRMAAGGEERRDD

In all seriousness though - Love this game, MYCAREER mode is very in-depth and progression is solid and rewarded.

Roster mods available for up-to-date teams and player profile pics and in-game player appearances.

7/10. It's a basketball game, if you can't afford the latest version buy this one. This is one of the best iterations of the game I've found .It's fun and has a good control system.

Good game especially for basketball fans. I came here from a pirated version not any difference, the only difference in the pirated vs steam is multiplayer(which i cant find anyone to play with literally it said 2 players online). If you're not a pirate buy if you are don't not much more here. 1 very important note this is nothing like ps4 or xbox one this is the ps3/xbox 360 version which sucks ♥♥♥ i wanted it to be like ps4 cuz you get good multiplayer and an actual storyline

If you own 2k12 or 2k13, dont bother buying this game. Its just a rehash of those game. Some new animation in the paint, a little bit of bug fixes for 2k13.

Even the commentator are mostly saying the same thing since 2k12. Its a pity that nba 2k has turned out like this ever since EA stop making nba live.

If you really want to play 2k14 wait until its $10 or less.

Pros:

1. Best basketball game in the market.
2. Players feel amazing to play with (for the most part). Authentic animations.
3. MyCareer is a super addictive mode which is sure to keep you busy for a long time.
4. Costs $29.99.

Cons:

1. Not a big improvement over NBA 2k13.
2. Graphics are sub par. Why the developers chose to keep such bad visuals for the PC version is beyond me.
3. A.I can be clunky at times.

Small piece of information for everybody, before buying this game. It does NOT have all the next-gen features, witch presented in PS4 and XBox One versions, like new graphics, cut scenes, animations, etc. It is still good enough, but game feels just like an addon to NBA 2k13 (or maybe, like a port from PS3/Xbox 360), not a really new game for modern times. So, buy PS4 or XBox One versions, if you can.

P.S.: http://unrealitymag.com/index.php/2013/11/11/nba-2k14-current-vs-next-gen-night-and-day-comparison/ - here is good comparison of versions.

I've played the PC ports of this NBA2K series since 2K11. To me, 2K12 was the peak of the series so far. This year though, it seems like they're taking advantage of no competition and are taking it easy. Why?

- Players feel much less flexible/agile than in previous years
- They changed the controls, again. 2k13 probably had the best gamepad config to date
- Players are much more sloppy with regards to ball handling. Rebounds go through their hands, silly collisions cause players to lose the ball, sometimes players will randomly animate in ways not appropriate to the situation (sometime causing out of bounds calls)
- Inexplicably consistent blowing layups and dunks, sometimes with completely clear path
- Physics sometimes act weird. Going for a steal sometimes you'll knock the ball out the other side of the court or even into the crowd. This has an unintended funny side effect of making some blocks look way more spectacular than they should be

Still, even having said that laundry list of things that bother me, I'd recommend the game (unless you want to manually patch the new rosters into 2K13). I'm hoping we get a mid-season patch like we did last year to fix these annoyances.

These opinions only cover single player mode.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME . WAIT UNTIL NBA2K15 DROPS , WHY SHOULD I WAIT YOU MAY ASK WELL ITS BECAUSE

2K games didn't do sh*t to this game , It's like NBA2K13 with a different layout and minor graphical udjustments . you don't even get the next gen engine or the story in 'My Carear' mode . The only good outcome is the fact that you get 'lebron's path to glory' for free + the online mode is just awful the matches last for a couple of minuits not a full game cos the other person always quits and the controls have completely changed

overall this game is a ripoff , it really sucks and i would rate 3/10 cos it just sucks balls

After playing this game for more or less 50 hours, I have come to these conclusions.

2K has done a TERRIBLE job on their PC port of NBA 2K14. Though I know this may not be the next-gen port, this game still does not meet my personal expectations and feels worse as compared to previous titles and years of the NBA2K franchise.

Over the course of my playing time, I have experienced many frustrating issues with the game. Here are some of the examples.
1. Player stats are not consistent. How is it that MyPlayer, who has maxed out his stats, miss a wide open 3-point shot with no defenders, with the shot feedback showing A+ on Shot Selection and Excellent on Release? I dont know either. This major issue happens too often that I have resorted to give up on shooting the ball, and drive it in instead.

2. Opponents are too over-powered. Though this may sound like I'm a ♥♥♥♥♥, or suck at the game, but this is a major issue that I've felt playing NBA 2K14. The opposing team seems to have stats that are not accurate to their real-life counter-parts. How is it that a CENTER is able to intercept my bounce pass when he is not quick enough to react to it? Do you really think every player is aware of a pass and is able to react to it quickly enough to steal it? I don't think so. I have experienced countless possessions that ended up in turnovers because of the over-powered oppenents.
Another stat issue is with the speed. Do you really think that a center can outrun me? A 6'8 SF with 90 speed? Yeah, of course he can! (sarcasm)
The stats in the game are not realistic, and it gives players abilities they do not possess.

3. There seems to be an issue with ball control. For some reason, MyPlayer, who has maxed out his dribble attributes, can't keep the ball in his hands without having to pass it to some other player. Even with my stats maxed, there seems to be a way for my opponents to take the ball for me. No wonder I average 4 turnovers a game.

4. Association mode is terrible. That's just to make it simple. There seems to be no way for me to get a good running team that has over 80% of team chemistry without making one of the players the STAR role that they want, even if they don't perform like a star. I had a bench player who averages 2ppg asking for a starting spot. Really now? Like that's going to happen.

5. Too many false goaltending calls! I'm so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that 2K has made the goaltending calls more sensitive. I have been called for goaltending, even though I know for a fact that it is a clean and legit block. DUMB ♥♥♥ REFS!

6. Online is ♥♥♥♥.

I sadly regret getting this game for its full-price of $29.99. This game shouldn't even be worth $5. Terrible job 2K, if only ya'll cared about the PC players, then maybe more people will buy it.

I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this game.

I'm still going to play it though since it's the newest 2K title.

Hope I don't break my keyboard.

Controls for this is wack, The PS4 and XBox One version get more content and cut scenes while this version seems like it was done half-♥♥♥♥♥ and they know it which is why the game is half the price on PC. Graphics are actually worse on PC then the next gen consoles and I believe its intentional.

Wait for 2K15 unless you absolutely have to have a sports game on your PC. The graphics and gameplay are last-gen (PS3/360), and it lacks the story aspect of the new-gen release.

Sad, since the PC has had the hardware to run a game like the PS4/X1 release for a while now.

Like a revamped 2013 but nothing much. Looks like they've released it on PC just to get extra income with no extra features. This game is a disappointment if you're not playing it on next gen console.

This game is great if you're a basketball fan and need to pick up a game, If you already have 2k13 I wouldn't get this unless it reaches super price reduction because this in my opinion is even more reduced, gameplay wise with 2k having a Monopoly in realistic basketball games. The favorites are still there, my player, assocation, season etc. If you are more a single player this game is fantastic but if your looking for amazing online play, prepare to be disapointed.

Do not get this game. I have had problems with it from the start freezing in my player mode at halftime and post game press conferences. They dont support the game online and its just literally a waste of your time play something more enjoyable.

Best basketball game for PC so far. It gets better with each new version. I don't recommend buying it though at full price as new versions come out every year. Get it only during sales.

I've had a love/hate relationship with almost every major basketball, football, and baseball franchise made--- there are elements that I will never tire of, like player scouting/drafting/developing/trading as a general manager in franchise modes. We've come a long way in some regards--- there are finally rookie players that can make an immediate impact, intuitive trading mechanics, and subtle nuances that add great levels of realism, depth, and nearly infinite strategic options. 2K does a much better job of this than any other studio has, and continues to build on that each year. Last year, EA's NBA Live was so bad that they decided not to even release the product, much to my surprise--- credit due to them for at least recognizing that their product was ♥♥♥♥ and saving me a few bucks in the process. Anyhow, it now appears that 2K has become complacent in the absence of competition and have added only one feature, from what I can tell. That feature is called something like "Lebron mode" where you battle a receding hairline and try to keep your teammates from sleeping with your mother. Lebron may be great at basketball, but this is really not a feature and while I do enjoy the game, I can't possibly recommend it to PC gamers, since 2K has neglected the PC version of this game so badly. I went to play online blacktop (streetball mode) and there were exactly 5 people online playing the game in the early evening on a weekend (which was generally the peak time on 2K13 for PS3). I didn't bother even joining a game at that point and just returned to single player. The actual basketball gameplay works pretty well, although the controls feel a bit clunky (360 controller on Windows 8). If you're not sure whether to get the game or not--- don't. It's overpriced, poorly supported, and neglected. I don't think I'll be buying any more 2K basketball games after this one unless they really show that they give a damn about PC gamers.
