Advantages:
- you can finally build your own deck, freely without any limitations (other than cards available in game)

Disadvantages:
- slow and unresponsive menu - you have to click the same button multiple times or wait 5 seconds for stupid animation to finish
- interface bugs - sometimes when asked to make a choice you are unable to do this (e.g. you are asked to choose a card from graveyard but you cannot look into the graveyard) - the only solution is to concede a duel
- game play bugs such as AI taping one swamp to pay "one black mana + X any mana" with X = 1
- AI is taking a lot of time to make the choice (as in the previous editions)
- the game gets boring after you unlock all the cards by playing campaign
- only standard games - no archenemy, no planechase, no two headed giant
- no challenge puzzles
- some cards cannot be unlocked in the campaign, but have to be bought via micro transactions
- a lot of cards implemented in the game are not available to the player, but are used by AI

Overall the game is very disappointing and unless you are huge MTG fan you shouldn't waste your money on it. It's based on the same engine as previous editions, so the only work they have actually done was adding a deck building tool and implemented new cards.

They took pretty much everything that made the previous version good and either removed it or filled it with glitches somehow. Very very much a let down. If you want to play Duels of the Planeswalkers then I recommend you buy the 2014 version.

The Good: You can finally construct your own decks. Some of the opponents are interesting.

The Bad: No puzzle mode. The computer opponents get cards that are more fun than yours. Most of the good cards are locked behind pay walls, even in the fully purchased version (like the one I got).

The Ugly: Game crashes CONSTANTLY. And I mean constantly. I have yet to actually shut the game down of my own choice. It always crashes to desktop instead.

Recommended For: Masochists who enjoy a Computer Opponent who cheats and always has an optimal hand. Folks who really just can't get enough crashes to desktop. Your enemies.

After spending a lot of time playing Magic 2014, both the story mode and online with freinds I've ended up feeling rather betrayed it's sucessor. Specifically I dislike the way decks and the aqquisition of new cards has been handled. After a brief tutorial you are thrown to a very large list of pre-assembled decks, all looking suitably cool with their flavour names and artwork, however expect to enjoy only one of these for a very large amount of play because that is all you may use with the standard edition. No information is given on any of the decks apart from their colours and it is not made clear that the decision you make here is final with no going back to sample the others. To me this feels like a gentle shove in the direction of the £4 a pop dlc packs offering all the cards instantly. After this at the end of each sucessful duel you will be given a booster pack relating to the plane you are currently on, a nice idea that gives you options for customisation that may not have been so prelavent in previous editions. This system is flawed however, I found on my playthrough the packs to be glitchy, and several times I was re-issued the same pack. The departure of Two Headed Giant, a mode me and freinds enjoyed significantly seems to seal the deal for me. I can't recommend this game particularly, I'd rather just go back to 2014 and play Echanter's Arsenal without having to throw Wizards any more money than I already have...

the only thing i disliked about this game is i wasted 10 bucks for it to not work. it loads the first loading screen then cuts out back to your desktop. I've tried everything to fix it by going to into the steam folder and changing the config settings and trying to chainge it to window mode and backing up the files.alot of other people are also having this issue. I don't know what else i can do to fix this issue.

Some how each iteration of this game is worse than the previous version. Want to switch decks in single or multiplayer? Well you have to exit put of those modes to change. No more two-headed giant. Planechase still gone. I really can't see springing for the next version of this game unless they really buff it up.

- Awful port
- Crashes 1-2 times per hour,
- Bad cardbase
- Premium cards are better than orginal, P2W
- Shallow singleplayer, no challenges, last single player boss winning based on luck

Don't buy this not even new player can enjoy this pile of trash.

The worst of the series so far. It does include the build your deck option, but lacks good cards. Another negative effect on me is the golddigging effect. If you want to win you have to pay! The Usability of the menu must have been invented by a 5 year old.
Its so slow and has still a lot of bugs! Unacceptable for the 5th Version of this game. Crucifixion is that the 2HG is gone! The best part of this game. I dont know if ill continue buying this game, it got me very dissapointed.

I recommend this game to learn how to play Magic: The Gathering.

This game was NOT intended for the hardcore fans.

However, YOU DON'T JUST GET STUCK WITH YOUR STARTING DECK. In 8 hours of playing it only completing maybe 20% of all cards in the game. I have a very decent Red/White/Blue Control/Speed deck. Lot's of reviews keep dogging this, but honestly, have you ever played with a Starter deck and bought booster packs? You'll be in the same boat in real life! So, I've been there done that. Not an issue for me to grind boosters.

Though I am not completely satisfied, I have also been playing for the last 8 hours testing out new decks and cards which I haven't gotten the chance to find yet in the actual physical TCG.

If you want a free testing source: Get this. It's totally worth especially if you are patient.

If you want to learn how to play: Get it. Though I feel like some things are a bit... weird in this game. The ideas are all there and it's a good tool to learn how to play the actual TCG.

If you want to learn how to build a deck: Get it. The booster packs are actually better than physical ones. You never have to worry about land cards, because the game supplies you an infinite amount of basic lands, and later on you get plenty of multi-color. I've gotten plenty of Mythic Rares since I started playing today. I've gotten a great Red/White/Blue deck started.

If you already know magic and have a great deck IRL: Don't get this. It's not nearly as enjoyable as playing at your local game shop.

If you are impatient: Be prepared to spend 5-20$ on getting a decent deck early on. Otherwise, this might not be the game for you, just go out and spend that 20$ on a deckbuilders Toolkit.

Overall I rate this game a 6/10. The lack of Two-Headed Giant is 3 points straight off the bat. But some compensation for the deck building and allowing you to create your very own decks.

things you might want to know if you are desiding to get this:

- the support is as bad as it always was with this Dev
- the complete version of teh game is the main game + all the playable unlocks (takes 8ish hours to unlock by yourself)
- there are premium cards you need to buy with real money if you want them (takes about 12€ to get all)
- the gamesystem is polished and works fine
- there are no special game modes its 1vs1, 1,vs1vs1 or 1vs1vs1vs1 with the cards everyone holds
- mp crashes and desynchs are better then in the earlier versions
- you can dodge mp to avoid to loose and denie your oponent the cards/win

- M15 is a fast paced edition in the real world and so it is in here
- games will be faster
- games will feature mostly dual(or more)-colored decks
- the true strenght of teh M15 editions lies in teh planeswalkers wich you can not use in here

Conclusion:
kind of boreing for me and my friends (that goes for teh whole M15 edition even offline)
lacks startey depth due to fast paced only games
no rely "cool" combos or cards

first let me say this i am a big fan of all the magic games but for the price i think it is not worth getting short story mode and online pvp u can never find anyone who is on i think it would be nice if you wait for the game to go down in price then i might recommend it

Meh the interface is kinda ♥♥♥♥, and when dueling and the opponent has too many creatures out it gets difficult to assign which creatures to block.
I would give it maybe a 5-6/10

Cons:

-Campaign starts you with awful decks
-Still has hilariously clunky menus after 4 years of the game (How did they not listen to the players on that one?)
-No rewards/progress for losing games that last 10-25 minutes = wasted efforts and unfortunate for people without a lot of time or people who are new to the game.
-It feels mandatory to restart the duel vs. the computer if you don't draw a perfect hand
- No 2 Headed Giant (2v2) This was one of my favorite coop experiences with a friend of mine.

Poorly developed game, somewhat buggy and clunky interface. A rehash of previous engines with no real improvment (and loss of features). Basically a money gouge from hasbro/wizards.

MTG 2015 is a complete let down and a stain upon the franchise.....why may you ask is it soo bad...

1- Super short campaign
2-PVP matches are pretty much decided by about 4 differnt combo decks
3-You gotta pay to unlock more cards if you dont draft them....
4-Graphics are crap and buggy
5-Interface is bad - no where near as good as mtg 2014

Only buy this game if its on a super special!
