Current Status:

As described on our Kickstarter update, this first release basically allows our community to get started designing their parks, creating custom assets, and importing/sharing custom scenery.

Most modules are 70 percent complete. Each will be released in phases, with additional modules unlocked as we polish and add new features requested by the community.

Looking back, the game has branched out way beyond its original design, as we listened to our customer base. We have held focus group meetings with backers, interacted with forum members, and truly set out to build the ultimate theme park sandbox game, shaped by the community.

Full featured editor with easy to use transform tools and helper functions.

Dynamic Custom Scenery Builder. Using our build sets, or your own custom sets, create unlimited custom scenery that give your park a unique style. Objects created can saved with embedded meshes, textures, and thumbnails, then shared with friends. When finished simply drop into your library folder and they instantly become part of the custom libraries.

Extensive importing/exporting tools for easy file sharing. We have put extra effort into allowing players to easily share all their amazing designs with simple one click imports! Custom scenery, materials, lights, paths, parks and skies can be easily exported to a single file with an embedded thumbnail. When finished, simply drop into your library folder and they instantly become part of the custom library for easy inclusion into your projects.

Powerful real-time path tools. Please see the videos for a detailed view. This extremely powerful tool allows players to quickly build, layout their park with complex curved paths, walls, bridges, and foundations. You can even attach trees, meshes, or particles effects like torches that will be automatically created, and positioned, for you.

Particle Library - A few particle effects are included in this build, with the full particle editor coming in a future update. Particle effects are 80 percent complete.

Built in object libraries including shops, cafes, castle, and more... Easy placement makes creation a snap:

Full tee library using our proprietary 3d procedural vegetation system with automatic LOD generation.

Flat ride library: PLEASE NOTE: Flat rides are static and just for aesthetics. The animation module is 60 percent complete and will be unlocked in a future update.

Light Library: Place lights easily with fully adjustable properties including color and attenuation;

Terra-forming. Our engine will procedurally paint your landscape based on user specified textures and parameters. 12 textures are used to accomplish the final result, so smooth transitioning is done for you. However we realize some may want to paint paths and since this tech already exists in the engine, we are looking at painting in an upcoming update (based on user request). Other than that, the terra-forming is very complete and powerful. Creating complex landscape is very simple, and easy to use.

Our next Phases Include
Phase 2:
Custom flat ride designer and animator, with ultra realistic physics. This module is one of our finest. It includes proprietary tools and technologies that allow players to build custom rides from scratch, with amazing realism, using patented technology. This module is currently 60 percent complete.

Phase 3:
Coaster construction. This module quite a lot already finished including on the fly rail type changing, coloring, station linking, rail supports, lifts, cat-walks, and more... However we want to continue to add additional features requested by the community.

Phase 4:
Music streaming with new custom DLC sound tracks.

Phase 5:
Custom train design. This module is extremely powerful and almost fully complete. Please refer to our videos for a detailed look. Here you can create almost any custom train imaginable, including importing your own custom meshes, built by you or downloaded from the community

Phase 6:
Keyframer. This powerful module is 80 percent complete and is for advanced users that want to hand animate objects and physics for that extra detailed touch. Please see video library for a detailed look.

***** New 64 Bit Build - Plus Phase 8 Update *****

Hello Everyone,


We have some great news. We devoted some extra time this update cycle and created a new 64 bit build. We understand our community wants to build even bigger parks, and we share their excitement, This is a major step forward and will remove most of the memory limitations that previously existed, allowing players to create much larger theme parks. It also gave us a little performance boost, as a bonus. Combined with our new multi-threading, Theme Park Studio has made some great advances recently.


Also coming in the next update.....All flat rides will be rideable! Simply step into the queue line, wait for the gates to open, and walk up to the seat of your choice. A lot of work was put into the flat ride physics and construction, and the results were amazing. Our flat ride physics really excel in this genre and it comes shining through when you ride 1st person. All the subtleties of natural motion, not possible through manually created animations, make a huge difference when riding. Our unique approach makes you feel like you are there, riding the real thing!


Of course, our Phase 8 update is coming along great and will be released soon. In case you missed it, we created a video displaying our progress. We can't give an exact release date for the update just yet, but stay tuned. We hope you enjoy the video!

Phase 7 Released - Custom Particle Effects, New Lighting, Dynamic Environments, and More!

Hello Everyone,


We are happy to announce phase 7 is complete. In this phase, we’ve integrated particle effects, fireworks, new lighting, dynamic environments, animated clouds, time lapse, weather effects, and more!


Theme Park Studio contains a very powerful particle engine. Users can create many types of effects using our extensive set of options and controls.



As with other modules of Theme Park Studio, particle effects are easy to use, plus fully customizable, appealing to both casual and advanced users. Casual users can enjoy a simple point-and-click method of adding particle effects to almost any scenery object, while advanced users have full access to the particle parameters for creating unique effects. We’ve introduced two new libraries: Particle Scenery and Particle Effects.




Particle Scenery

The Particle Scenery Library contains scenery objects easily placed anywhere in your scene. Like other scenery objects, simply click on the thumbnail and place the particle object in your scene. Some objects contain animated texture maps for finely detailed elements, like waterfall mist curtains. Other elements emit particles to create stunning animated visuals, like fountains and fireworks.



Particle Effects

The Particle Effects Library is useful for adding particle effects to existing objects in your scene. Adding effects is as simple as clicking on the thumbnail, and then clicking on the object in your scene you want to receive the effect. For example, if you have a cabin in your scene, click on the smoke thumbnail, and then click on the cabin chimney to instantly add smoke. The smoke effect is now part of the cabin. When you move the cabin, the particle effect moves with it. You can even attach particle effects to flat rides!



New Procedural Skies and improved lighting:

This update also includes new procedural skies and improved lighting. The new dynamic skies include animated clouds, time-lapsed lighting, lens flares, weather effects, dynamic time of day rendering, and even Crepuscular Rays, which together produce stunning results.


Optimizations

We added some performance optimizations, with more to come. Depending on your hardware configuration, some of you may notice a significant performance increase when running parks with guests.


Undo

Finally, we have been working hard to implement community requests while developing the phases. In this update, we are starting to roll out Undo. In this phase, you can undo coaster rail transformation and deletion. We will continue to work hard to fulfill backer requests over the next phases.



We look forward to moving on to Phase 8 and appreciate our backers working with us during Early Access.

Theme Park Studio is a powerful suite of tools that allows players to design, build, and experience stunning amusement parks of their own design. Players can build whatever they can imagine, and then share it online for others to experience.

'Theme Park Studio Professional Edition' is scheduled for use in 2014 by Intamin Amusement Rides to showcase their newest coaster designs.

Theme Park Studio includes Steam Workshop integration. You can now browse through libraries of Parks, Rides, Custom Scenery, and Environments built by the community, without ever leaving the program. There is also a new 'Publish' feature, for uploading your creations directly from Theme Park Studio.

The 'Enter Park' feature adds a new dimension by allowing players to take a virtual tour of community built parks. In addition, the upcoming Oculus Rift support will take the virtual park experience to a whole new level.

Theme Park Studio has been in development for 1 1/2 years and integrates our proprietary game engine and IDE used in the serious games industry.

Please join us, through early access, in continuing this exciting project. Early Access will provide the means to take this title even further, and make Theme Park Studio the ultimate theme park simulator.

Using our rich toolset, players begin by sculpting their terrain, creating lakes, rivers, and raising knolls and mountains. Next, the opening gate is set and paths are placed with our easy path tools. No staggered or sharp edges here, just smoothly curved pathways procedurally built on the fly. With the click of a button, fences are created, stairs are generated, and trees are procedurally placed. Now it's time to build some rides. Coaster creation is both easy and flexible. Coaster rails can be bent, twisted, and shaped into almost any design imaginable. Add brakes, accelerators, tunnels, or have the coaster scream through a custom mesh, like a volcano. There is virtually no limit to what you can come up with. Prefabricated template pieces are also provided as helpers. Want to add a batwing or cobra roll? Simply click the icon and it will drop right in. All the power combined with all the ease of use.

Theme Park Studio broke new ground when we unveiled our custom flat ride designer. This unique module allows to design, build, and invent custom rides. Physics can be applied to objects connected by custom joints. Next, animations are applied to these physics objects. Animation properties include, Torque, Force, Dampen Torque, Dampen Force, Position, Rotation, and Scale. With this functionality the number of flat rides you can create with Theme Park Studio is virtually unlimited! If building custom flat rides is not your thing, no problem, simply select from our library of pre-built rides. In just one click, the ride drops right in to your park, with full physics and animation built in.

Next, fill out your park with restaurants, gift shops, bathrooms, etc.. You can pick from our built in libraries, or download custom meshes and import them for maximum customization. Turn your park into a stunning, picturesque environment with our procedural vegetation libraries. With a simple click drop in trees, hedges, bushes, and flower beds, that subtly sway in the wind. Using our particle effects engine, add fountains, fireworks, smoke, and torches for the final touch. Finally, open the park to guests and watch the peeps tour your park and ride your custom coasters and flat rides. You can also take a first person virtual tour through your park, and experience your own rides. Theme Parks are easily saved and archived. You can upload them to one of the Theme Park Studio coaster exchange sites that will be coming out soon. Theme Park Studio features include:

- Steam Workshop Integration. After 1000 hours Theme Park Studio, I will write a review. Before, I want to say "TPS is not a RCT". It is an editor/game where you have the possibility to built your park of yor dreams. More on that later. Please make sure to read exactly the roadmap by when each phase will be published before you buy the game! Who is too lazy to read, will possibly not get what he imagines! These are a early version of the game, which is fully published only in a couple of weeks/month!

TPS is an Early Access game. It is a game which is still under development. For people who do not understand or refuse to understand. TPS has made great steps in the past. The roller coaster editor is just great and the gaming performance was also working. TPS is not perfect, but it is going very well. There are a few crashes, but that you have to accept. The new route editor is also great and easy to use.

There was a lot of work on the usability. With the Steam Workshop you can download you also individual buildings. There are already many good buildings and Flatrides. Everyone who buys the game, support this great product and should not expect a finished game .... and who wants to compare it with NL2 ..... Is just a fanboy or has not understood it.

Both games are great, but have about his strengths and weaknesses. Smart people recognize the right. That's all I'm saying ....

Soon the Peeps come to the park and lift TPS on another level. I recommend anyone TPS, they have patience and understands what "Early Access" means. We help with the purchase carry on the product even better. Pantera listening to his community.

It is now quite impressive what options you have. I can not list them all. Buy yourself the game. You will not regret it.

If all modules work together 100%, here we expect one of the best "Theme Park Simulations" (not roller coaster simulations).

And no there are no management system and that's a good thing!

Nach über 1000 Stunden Theme Park Studio, will ich auch mal ein Review schreiben. Eins vorne weg! TPS ist kein RCT! Es ist ein Editor wo ihr die Möglichkeit habt den Park eurer Träume zubauen. Dazu später mehr. Bitte lest euch genau die Roadmap durch, wann welche Phase veröffentlich wird bevor Ihr das Spiel kauft! Wer zu faul zum lesen ist, wird evtl nicht das bekommen was er sich vorstellt! Es handelt sich hier um eine verfrühte Version des Spiels, was erst in ein paar Wochen komplett veröffentlich wird! Wer dem englischen nicht so mächtig ist, dem hilft ein Translator oder Foren.

Aber nun zum Game :) TPS ist kein einfaches Spiel. Wer hier erwartet, das er mit nur wenigen Zügen seinen Wunschpark erstellen kann, ist klar fehl am Platz. Habt ihr also keine Geduld oder wollt euch nicht die Mühe geben sich damit zu beschäftigen, lasst es einfach. Hier muß man sich schon in die Materie einarbeiten. Es ist schließlich ein Editor Programm und kein 0815 Ding. Jeder Editor, 3D Programm und wie Sie alle heißen brauchen Ihre Zeit.

Seid Ihr bereit diese Aufgabe entgegen zunehmen, erwartet euch ein traumhaftes Werkzeug. Es gibt nahezu unbegrenzte Möglichkeiten euren Park zu gestalten. Ihr könnt im Editor selber Gebäude und Co entwerfen, aber auch sketchup und Co verwenden und diese Objekte in den Park intregieren. Warum rate ich jedem dazu, TPS jetzt schon zu kaufen ?!?

Es ist für den ein oder anderen wirklich nicht einfach und es brauch etwas Zeit alle nötigen Funktionen zu verstehen. Das importieren, exportieren oder die Texturen. Es gibt sovieles hier zu entdecken, das würde alles sprengen. Ein weitere Grund ist auch, mit den kommenden Phasen wird es nicht einfacher. Daher ist ein gewisses Basic-Wissen hier einfach Pflicht. Flatrides selber bauen, bedarf einfach einer gewissen Grundkenntnis, die man hier schon erlangt. Das Achterbahn bauen ist wirklich einfach gestaltet und jeder kann in 10 min in den Genuss kommen. Ein Top Coaster Editor!

Man kann zwar auch die Ingame Objekte benutzen um sich seinen Park zu erschaffen, allerdings sind diese recht wenig und werden dem ein oder anderen evtl. nicht zusagen.Hier kann jeder auf Steam Workshop zu greifen. Mir persönlich sagen einige davon zu, aber leider nicht genug davon :). Einen kleinen Park kann man damit füllen, wer sich damit zufrieden gibt. TPS wird von seinen Erstellern leben und profitieren. Daher ist es sehr wichtig zu wissen, wie ich zb Objekte importiere und Co. Nur so holt man später das wahre Potenzial heraus.

Klar gibt es auch ein paar negative Aspekte, dia aber aufgrund des jetzigen Stadiums jeder begreifen und verstehen muss. Es kommt ab und zu, zu abstürzen oder Objekte wollen nicht so wie du es willst. Generell ist aber zusagen, dass das Spiel wirklich super läuft. Vorrausgesetzt man hat sich intensive damit beschäftigt. Wer das macht wird 100% belohnt! Das hier ist erst der Anfang und wer wollte nicht schon immer seinen Traum Park bauen und selber gestalten?!? Hier habt ihr die Möglichkeit!

Unter meinem Profil findet ihr auch zahlreiche Screenshots, die euch zeigen was alles machbar ist. Es ist einfach beeindruckend, was TPS jetzt schon kann.

In diesem Sinne und hoffe ich konnte dem ein oder anderen weiterhelfen. Generell, lest die Roadmap bitte und jeder der schonmal seinen eigenen Park bauen wollte mit richtiger Grafik :D rate ich zum Kauf. Ihr unterstützt damit jetzt schon das Spiel und seid Teil von etwas wirklich großem! Dennoch wollt ihr ein RCT, dann spielt RCT weiter ;)! Hier liegen Welten zwischen!

Natürlich sind die ganzen 1000 Stunden nicht durchs zocken zusammen gekommen. Nebenbei erstelle ich auch 3D Modelle für TPS. Da kommt wegen testen auch einiges zusammen ;)einiges zusammen ;)

The updates keep getting better! It's like Roller Coaster Tycoon and Thrillville, but without the need to earn cash in game for new ride installments. The graphics are incredible, the gameplay is simple and easy to use, and the detail is outstanding! You can spend hours fine tuning a coaster to make it perfect or you can spend a few minutes to put in a fun ride! I can't wait for future updates to this already amazing game! Definitely worth every penny.

Theme Park Studio is a mix between roller coaster tycoon sandbox and no limits. All three titles do some things better than the other and each has strengths and weaknesses when compared, but overall I like Theme Park Studio best because it offers the most customization without spending a lot of time on a single project and the visual quality competes with either of the other products. I don't have to use a 3d modeling program, everything I build can be done directly from in the game or using workshop items. I do use .jpg image textures from the internet however. The thing to keep in mind is this is not Roller Coaster Tycoon or No Limits, it's a different game from a different developer and what it does it does well. Much more than just coasters there is also custom animations, textures, lighting, landscapes, particles, sounds, and so much more.

This is like a set of sandbox tools you would find in roller coaster tycoon with no goals or money to worry about, just build your park the way you want it. The coaster and path tools are pretty similiar to Roller Coaster Tycoon and were reworked a few phases ago to make them much easier to use, now it's simply point and click to build coasters and paths or you can also use the drawing tool to draw a path with the mouse. For advanced players there are tons of advanced options and controls available to customize just about everything. They even added multi-core support in the last phase which tripled my FPS. In the videos below you can see just how far you can take the customizations.

The game has come a long way since the early phases and soon we will get peeps walking around, 1st person camera mode on rides, many more flat rides all in the final phase. Since all the rides are physic based and not scripted these are going to be amazing in first person mode. I'll let me videos speak to the quality of Theme Park Studio, each park you build will get better and faster. It takes me longer to record videos than build parks now. This is must have for any PC theme park enthusiast.

Early Access Review
The game is not even in beta yet so some of my comments might be fixed. The game overall seems like it will be a great game. The rollercoaster building function is awesome. I love the node system. I have been having a lot of problems with the program crashing. I hope these will be fixed before release. Also there are a lot of items on the steam workshop that you can download for your park.

After spending over 160 hours in Theme Park Studio (not counting the 100's of hours designing flat rides in 3DS Max for TPS), I thought that I would edit my original review. Theme Park Studio, while still in Early Access, has consistently improved phase after phase continuing to add features that the community requested. I have watched the feature sets get better as well, with some of the best features yet to be released. IMO Theme Park Studio is very easy to build a realistic looking park with just a little practice getting used to the controls. The controls are easy to get used to for the beginner, yet has advanced tools that can be comparable to some of the best professional studios out there today. The animation/physics engine in TPS has features that you can't get in any sandbox studio on the market to date. With improved path tools and a new coaster editor, TPS has come a long way since it was first introduced as Early Access to the community. For those of you that are looking for a complete suite of tools to build anything you can imagine, then I recommend that you give Theme Park Studio a try. With Phase 8 coming soon packed with peeps, the ability ride all flat rides, a new 1st person (simulation) view, and a new 64bit build that eliminates any memory problems that existed in the 32bit version, now is the time to check out Theme Park Studio as it's getting better and better.
