It'd be great if it was finished, honestly. The standings are broken (More than once I've been third in the standings after a race, despite having the most points), the AI is genuinely terrible when it comes to making pit-stops and they're capable of going 50% longer on fuel than the player can (even with a fully upgraded car and saving fuel at any possible time!)
The cars handle reasonably, it's not unpleasant to drive and it's satisfying to win, though the fact there are multiple cars running the same number is frustrating to anyone who's a fan of NASCAR (Some cars are running Nationwide Series sponsorship, as well).
The car customisation is much better than the previous game, and the livery editor is nice, though, again, full of bugs, and the sponsorship system seems to just not have been vetted at all (It's possible to have a sponsor sign with you after they've already signed with you, so you can earn double money from the same sponsor. Down-side? They count as separate sponsors, so you have to fit the logo on your car twice..), The editor's ever so slightly asymmetrical, and using a controller it's clunky and annoying to use.
The track statistics and player statistics in career mode don't work some of the time (but it's inconsistent which times they work and which they don't..)
The biggest gripe for me is a bug I've had during the races. Multiple times I've finished a race, only to find my finishing position (And even my win) taken away without explanation. This happens both with penalties on and off, and is simply mystifying. I had a race at Richmond where I finished first, got my burnouts and victory lane celebration same as normal, but when I was brought to the "Race Finished" screen, I was classified 2nd.
So, with all that in mind..
It's not inherently a bad game, but it just doesn't feel finished, complete, or optimised at all. Don't bother. If you're after a good alternative, check out the online racing series games, they're better than this.
